Kevin has posted on the X site: QuoteDave knows he is the only one who can answer that question. I have stood by an open door that he choses to walk away from. If he wants dialogue, to reconcile, or to end the lies and demonisiation, he just needs to do it, instead of making excuses to defend his isolation. It's none of my business, and I am interfering here, but I still have to say tha

I have read Dave's latest missive regarding dialogue, or whatever it is he now says he wants. He is very much in wooing phase here, at least with regard to myself and Kevin. There was a reference somewhere, maybe Dave quoting Brian, of comparing this site to war, with guns and ammunition, and the X site to group therapy. That is probably it in a nutshell. Now I am the only person who p

Dave has posted a long commentary on Kevin's posting. He does seem to genuinely want to clear the air about some things, and to have dialogue with at least some people, his son in particular. He has said QuoteYes, I have tried to "minimise" the association by pointing out that I LIVED IN A CHILDREN OF GOD COMMUNE for a total of about three weeks. No, Dave, I am not going to

Still can't make any sense of it, Stoic. I did catch this phrase: QuoteDavejc has no effective internal moral compass. Now I have just read Kevin's testimony, where he said: Quote I recall a family Bible study when reading a passage from one of Paul's epistles that mentioned how one should not eat with adulterers, and Dave explained that on this basis the COG would no longe

Two quotes from Kevin's testimony stand out to me: QuoteMany ex-JCs carry mixed feelings about their time in the Jesus Christians. I don't doubt the same is true of Dave in relation to the COG. QuoteI recall a family Bible study when reading a passage from one of Paul's epistles that mentioned how one should not eat with adulterers, and Dave explained that on this basis the CO

Kevin has made a posting on the X site regarding his memories of Dave's involvement with the COG. It is quite a significant statement, and so I post it here in its entirety, not editing any of his words: Quote When Dave starts projecting paranoid conspiracy theories, evidence is often gathered that might support that opinion, but anything that appears to contradict this theory has a ten

Apollo wrote: QuoteI've never seen anyone who so frequently uses the word ''Ha!'' at the end of sentences. We now know Dave has picked up that writing style from a paedophilia book, which is very creepy. I have to disagree with this line of thinking, Apollo. I was not saying that Davejc picked up this style of writing from a paedophilia book. That style of writing wa

Dave has made a posting regarding my noticing the use of the word Ha! in writings by people from the COG. I wish to clarify that even though I noticed this while reading an article on child abuse in the COG, I was in no way implying that Dave has had any direct dealings or knowledge of child abuse other than the instances he himself has reported of a person within their group who admitted suc

You know, Zeus, it gives me confidence in our capacity to see what is going on, when both Verity and I notice the Ha thing independent of you, and we both conclude it's a COG signature. We had no idea you had come up with the same conclusion so long ago, and so it gives substance to our independent observations about the cult. Thanks for the reference....

Thanks, Zeus, for pointing out that you have observed this use of the term "Ha!" before. I had no idea. But what concerns me more is that this child, writing of the sexual abuse of her young brother, uses the same term over and over again! So why is Davejc using this term? Given that it is the signature of children who Berg abused, why is he using it even today?

Zeuszor first noticed my recent observation way back. QuoteNow the fact that both of us noticed this quirk of written language that we had never seen before, apart from in Dave's postings, makes us very unsettled about how close Dave was to Mo, in that he should continue with a written quirk of using Ha! at the end of a statement until this day, which seems to have its origins in the COG material.... Or not. Maybe both writers have a strange

I got a PM from Verity on the X site. She had been reading the Davidito book, and she too couldn't go on reading it. She also noticed the Ha! at the end of a statement, the way Dave does it. Now she's Canadian, and I'm Australian, but we both clocked this funny thing which we have never encountered before in writing, even in US writing. So two women, one from Canada and one fr

I am inclined to agree with you Stoic. The matter of what was going on with child abuse seems to have been last on the list for Davejc at the time. It seems to me he just wanted to establish a cult with himself as leader, with a ready-made apocalyptic theology, and where that sexual element was transmogrified into masturbation, never mind those children already being abused....

Cherry is to be commended for putting her foot down. But where is the report to the authorities about what is going on with child abuse? There is a Duty of Care principle which seems to have been ignored by both Dave and Cherry at this time..... Again, I caution about applying this too stringently, as the climate of the time, and awareness of the nature of abuse was not as it is today.....

I got maybe through one third of the Davidito book, and couldn't read any more, I was so sickened. I'm not saying Dave had any knowledge of this, but even if he knew about anything regarding the direction the COG was taking, he should have stepped away from them and reported to them to the authorities for abuse. Cherry was right all along, and the minister who was trying to give her

Ha! How many times have we seen that strange thing at the end of a statement from Dave? It is a strange thing to write, and I had not seen it before in my life. Dave writes Ha! as an expression of emphasis at the end of a sentence. I have often wondered about this curious writing style, which I have never seen before. Now, I am going through some COG material, and guess what? The writer use

If Dave had any knowledge of the abuse occurring withing the COG, he should have reported it to the authorities. We know he left that cult, to form another, and we know by his own admission he left because of their sexual practices, but if he had any knowledge of the shocking abuse, he should have reported it. I wonder if he actually knew about what was going on? He was in receipt of the Mo lett

Thanks for the link to that site, corboy. I hadn't seen it before. It's amazing just how many sites on the internet have pages devoted to saying much the same as here about the Jesus Christians, and yet Dave has targeted this site for some kind of legal action. I mean, even if in his wildest dreams he were to be successful, there are so many other sites saying the same things abo

For examples of Dave upsetting X-Family members by downplaying the crimes of the COG, go to and use the search facility in the left hand tool-bar to search Dave McKay. The site doesn't give url's for search results, and I don't want to clog up this thread with large extracts (Mo's letters were enough!) but they all make for interesting reading.

I have also had reports that he really used to upset ex COG members as he basically downplayed reports of sexual activity and paedophilia in the COG as he said (if the reports were true) there would have been more charges arising. I am still awaiting confirmation of this report....

I like your attitude, Stoic. So what we have established this evening (Melbourne time) is that Davejc came to Australia, and had meet-ups with COG people in Queenbeyan. He then went to Broken Hill. In late 1976 he was placing advertisements for the COG in his own local paper. He had a secret stash of Mo letters hidden in a leather binder. Mo (David Berg) put out the missive regarding Flirty
