Things That Are Done In Secret You know something is wrong when the leadership of (a church ) knowingly accepts $80,000.00 of life insurance from a widow whose husband recently died. A widow who has little children to support and care for by herself. To take as a gift what the widow offered - in reality is taking what a man worked for and provided, for his wife and children should he die - to

John Stevens, He brought extensive historical teaching about the origin of Christmas and several other holidays. He brought Scriptural references out of the Old Testament to support what he believed gave insight to how the ancient worshipper's of God, being warned by the prophets of old - against the people being caught up in the worship of the other god's - in the nations where-in t

I think many people had their own experiences, have their own unique thoughts and opinions about Impact but I believe there is very little spoken about Impact any where because of the love so many of the people had for Bob. He wasn't about money, nor was he greedy, and he worked at the company and served in the ministry day and night with out a thought for himself. He and his family lived on

And so you found a resting place in your own active spiritual life - by living each day in the

I agree we may warn - but I think it is important how we go about warning. Let your words be seasoned with grace. Okay - so some people completely condemn or all but condemn JRS. I believe I have been given the right to judge a "matter" for myself but not the right to personally judge to condemn the man, as if I were God. Deeds I can judge and the action I can take - is to no

lily rose, In the late 60's and early 70's hundreds of young people came flooding into the church and I don't know of anyone who came who was educated in the Scriptures. Peter Whitney and Bowman Littleton were zealous about the Scriptures, but they were kids like every one else among the multitudes of young people who came and remained as members. John Stevens we might say -

Puddington, What I wrote is what I thought after reading many articles - viewing court documents on line and viewing the video and things spoken on the forum which were a good part of the opinion I expressed. I did not know who Tony Cox's daughter was - that is why I said, what was taking place was hidden from the majority of the members. I met Tony Cox at some kind of a reception

Sharing my thoughts and opinions' - from my point of view Some things to consider: Tony Cox " kidnapped" his and Yoko's daughter - and the child was hidden and grew up in the church rather than having the " right" to grow up with her own parents, which the law of the land provides for - when parents divorce. The child grew up having been robbed of knowing he

My point in mentioning the ballroom gowns was to show how naive I was. In reality the divorce was about business. But what later surprised me was that Martha wanted 1/2 of what the people thought belonged to them. That was reality. According to the law she was entitled in the eyes of the court, if possible to continue living the life style she had enjoyed and grown accustomed to , while married t

Lily Rose, Thank you for what you expressed to me. NickleandDimed, In answer to your question - I don't know. I was just present one of the days for the court proceedings and the only thing I remember is Martha's attorney requesting as part of the settlement certain monies for expensive ball gowns. Stating that she should be allowed to live at the level she was accustomed to living - during her marriage to John.

Some information and sharing some personal thoughts to ponder It wasn't until many, many years later after John and Martha's divorce that I realized that we lived as church members having a different mind set - than those who are supported by the offerings of the people. Martha was accustomed to living a certain life style - what most of us back in the day - would call a lavish life

Excellent message Larry. When I read verse 11 and 12 in the context of the whole of Scriptures you quoted to convey - ( that it is Jesus Words to us that we are to keep and to abide in) -In reading your post another thought that came to mind is that - it is to Jesus Himself one humbles him/herself to - to receive, to keep and to abide in His Words of instruction.

Lily Rose, You posted......That's how people were forced to live during the Dark Ages.
