A search of our "old" friend Aardvark's history on this forum to follow. Please note that a mere six years ago he/she posted on a Buddhist thread and claimed to be a child. He/she was banned from the RR Forum for being an underage poster. So much for 47 years in TLWF.

QuoteCult Education Institute Destructive Cult Dynamics What types of people become leaders of unsafe and/or destructive groups? Many cult leaders seem to be narcissistic personalities often fantasizing about messianic visions that will change the course of human history, while appearing to have little if any conscience. Some make claims that they are the exclusive voice of God, "psych

Quote Posted by: Aardvark () Date: August 16, 2019 06:11PM Puddington, Well said, but I stand by my previous statements. This issue is complex because it is largely theological and would require a long winded biblical debate. The first question here is whether one believes as the charismatics do, for example, that God can and still does many of the same things that He did in the Bible. If yo

Aardvark, your point about JRS not promoting quasi-occult practices leaves me somewhat dumbfounded. In the late sixties and early seventies, the Bless Ins became a Saturday night staple. Right hand under, left hand over...because that's the direction the blessing flows. Belief in demons, casting out of demons and demon possession were all big. Physical signs in the body to give insight into

And as you probably know CLW continues with about half the number that were there before the implosion (I haven’t been there in almost a year). And obviously those who continue don’t feel they were abused.

QuotePosted by: changedagain () Date: August 15, 2019 02:17PM Can anyone confirm this? A post by 'Invisible' from January of 2014: I found a marriage record for JRS and Marilyn on 9/8/80, which is almost a month prior to the show wedding in Anaheim. IMO, it's entirely possible that Invisible was invited to a "for show" reception months before that. We have heard

Changedagain and SunnyFord and all other receivers of those infamous birthday cards...I suppose that G&M really put a lot of effort into that gesture of "love and caring". Oh, wait, it was actually the same signatures copied year after year. What a crock. Though I suppose it was the least they could do for people giving up their lives, families, bank accounts and sanity for them. :

Thanks for posting this, puddington. Body of article below. Quote A Monday work session with the Kalona City Council and Shiloh directors brought up a potentially touchy situation. Shiloh has a small cemetery and columbarium in the middle of its 200-acre property, which the city would like to see moved in order to proceed with the proposed voluntary annexation of the church propert

Have you ever heard of Nouthetic Counseling? It is counseling based only on the Bible. While that is not exactly the same as the counseling "offered" by TLWF pastors and others, I have come to believe that both are unhelpful and counterproductive. In my opinion, people seeking answers to problems should see a professional, licensed therapist. Church counselors have to speak the party li

OK, my theory only: JRS passed out waiting on the Lord (in a drunken stupor), woke up to pee, and happened to notice that Martha still had not been obedient to die. They had words. (JRS: Why aren't you dead yet? Martha: Why aren't you like Christ yet?) Alarms were sounded, special people were awakened to practice what amounted to black magic voodoo spells against the pastor's wi

Welcome, JimK3. In the early days of The Walk, JRS and his family lived in Lynwood, CA, near Grace Chapel South Gate. They moved to North Hollywood by the time period you spoke of. The Church of the Living Word in Sepulveda (now North Hills) was built in the early sixties, and JRS would preach in both LA area churches several times a week. Later there was also a church in Anaheim, CA. At Sh
