Vain Glory was not all that good. One of the things that was weird to me about that, was this dude saying that John Stevens ordered pastors to sleep with women in the church. That is a bunch of crap. Some of it was OK some of it was hype. Also to me if this was supposed to be about a cult, then they left off the most culty part, where the demonic duo took over.

A lot of discussion about the Tony Cox film on page 95.

Ha--I will need to introduce 'The Demonic Duo" in my next comic book. They will attempt to bring Oneness among all the other superheroes by requiring each one of them to submit to a relationship system called the Upward Flow. It should be exciting!

Had the 90/10 principle (90% focus on APCO, 10% focus on local church) been properly applied, it should have been inverted (90% on the little people, 10% focus on the bigwigs), and would have probably created TLW into a healthy and thriving community.

Instead, this forum is what we are left with as a result of the Upward Flow.

I think that Vain Glory is mostly bologna. It does have some good shots of JRS preaching though which were hard to get since he never liked to be photographed, etc. I wonder how that guy got away with that actually. Good entertainment, I guess. The Nichols paper is pretty good though.

Yea, I just really didn't like that guy, Yoko's ex. For one thing, when you think about it, no matter what JRS was about or not about, he helped that guy out when he was in a mess. There is nothing that JRS was going to get out of that, except possibly into a lot of trouble. I just think there was something slimy about that dude. (That is ole Apostle Dog's method of discernment, somebody is either slimey or not.)

Yes, Nichols portrayed John's manipulative nature quite well. His tendency to employ visions, revelations, the threat of Nephilim channels etc. to distract people from focusing on some of his questionable behavior.
Not saying God didn't transport him seven years into the future to witness aspects of the Kingdom (while he was spending time with his girlfriend), but it does seem unlikely. But perhaps that lack of faith on my part is rooted in my religious nature reacting to God's unfathomable ways. Not sure.

Prophetic visions, sleeping prophecies, and Holy Jim Canyon visitations all helped to mold the culture of the fellowship, and, as we all know by now, were without substance. The frenzy of wanting something we believed to be true did not make it so. JRS was just one in a long line Christian snake-oil salesmen that have been attempting to peddle goods going all the way back to the Council of Nicaea.

Caveat emptor.

i don't know anything about this guy Nichols, but i too think that he captured everything pretty good. I wonder if he was in any way associated with the Walk or had anything to do with it. Anybody know much about this guy?

I did not ever know JRS personally at all. To me he was just a voice in a box, but still, I do know a little about him, from what I have heard and read and etc...
but anyway, that Reflections from the Wall did explain a whole lot of stuff that at the time I now have a hard time believing that I was stupid enough to just assume was accusations from "blow outs" and "Nephilim".
