He's alive! :-(

The old sweetie wife has finally shown his ugly mug. Glen/bigpigweed/RecentlyDeported/Youtube Nuisance has also shown his ugly mug.

He just can't pass up a chance to recruit, especially when the fish is one he has already put a lot of effort into hooking.

Lovely analogy with the casino boss there, who will indeed win over time due to the unbeatable odds in his favour----but it doesn't quite work the same for the followers/gamblers who, being on the losing side of those same unbeatable odds, will eventually lose everything over time too.

Its a good working analogy for Davejc though, as the casino boss on the winning side of those odds. There is a lot of similarity between the personal emotional dynamic that keep gamblers coming back to try their luck and recoup previous losses and the emotional dynamic that keeps a cult member loyal and trapped long after the first doubts have surfaced (and been ruthlessly repressed).

Its all about a perceived loss that the gambler is trying to fruitlessly recoup or vindicate, the casino boss knows this and encourages the fantasy that such losses can ever be redeemed.

Mind games--the real casino game is not played on the table.

Poor old Davejc is as hopelessly hooked into his own pattern of eternal recruitment as any of his followers are hooked into theirs of following.
If I were buddhist I would call that karma---since I am a godless heathen I will quote that old saw: he's made his own bed............
and is as deserving or non-deserving of sympathy for his own adult choices, behaviour and actions as any other adult.

Just like a casino boss, he is entirely focussed on getting what he wants which he neatly equates with
what god wants, from the odds equation---no matter how many lives he ruins in the process.

Dear Apollo,

Yes...."alive" in one sense it appears at least.....and here I was, just hanging out for that celebratory death notice.

I think Glenn has genuinely attempted to communicate here...and should be applauded for the effort....God knows no one else would even bother!

Sick, twisted McKay still cannot even as much as "respond" though without the subterfuge at inculcating "guilt" (Glenn didn't "act" on his faith by joining the JesusChristians, and turning everything he had over to the "common purse" as per McKays' wishes).....then seeking to manipulate "compliance", once he has inveigeled some fabricated "vulnerability".....

....just DIE already, David, will you!!

Dave said to Glenn:

Quote

"I think that this is a powerful lesson that would make a huge difference in your life if you could just learn it. Sitting on the fence appears to have been your primary contribution to the kingdom of heaven, and as long as you are even 51% certain that it is what God wants from you, I think you are in big trouble spiritually."

Dave demands an "all or nothing" response. And if you have genuine disquiet as a spiritual seeker, then you are "in big trouble spiritually."

This is the way he operates. Genuine seekers are encouraged to stop questioning, and to adopt his stance without question.

Surely a movie producer wouldn't turn his back on Hollywood for Dave McKay? hahahaha

Blackhat, it sounds as if Dave is saying - ''Jump aboard the McKay Express or you're going to hell!''.

Perhaps Glen can take credit for smoking the old goat out. I didn't realise it was he who had made the initial post.

Do these JCs fruitcakes honestly believe God is communicating with them in their dreams? That's a very dangerous game.

Glen raises a good point with regards to the zombie film. I had a dream that I was wrestling ''The Rock'', having recently watched Wrestlemania - is God telling me to become a wrestler? hmmmmmmm

''Apostle'' David
Romans 8:28 says that everything turns out good to those who love and follow God. It doesn't mean we never have difficulties or make mistakes, but overall, we never lose. The difficulties and mistakes are eventually matched by greater pleasures and greater triumphs... simply because we keep on trying to love and obey God.

Follow the ''Apostle'' and you can enjoy the luxury of sleeping in a filthy old camper van alongside two grown men, eating out of supermarket bins, whipping pensioners, staying celibate, never speaking to your family again, grooming teenagers and killing for Christ! WOOP! WOOP!

Nice to see Kevin doing well. He is one extremely talented individual. I'd certainly buy his artwork. It seems his chosen career has now taken him to the beautiful city of Rome, good on him. It's always nice to see ex cult members making a success of their lives.

I think a lot of Dave's bitterness towards his son is down to jealousy. I don't believe for a second that Dave felt his son could go on and live a fulfilled life post-cult but Kevin has proven him wrong. Dave will always put his own spin on things but it's clear Kevin is a happy family man with an extremely successful career.

Oh what a coincidence!

Kev posted this just a few hours after the above post. It's nice to see Kev is still catching up with the RR forum whilst galavanting around the globe.

The painted images identify it as a temple to Dionysus, the god of wine and revelry, who like Apollo, was the son of Zeus, although his personification of wild ecstasy contrasts with Apollo’s cool reason.

Why, Thank You, Sir!

I've finally got around to reading the above thread after hearing so much about Peter. I've only read the first few pages but already things are getting interesting.
