Dead on: Re: The Living Word Fellowship, The Walk, John Robert Stevens Posted by: Lilith () Date: November 10, 2018 06:33AM Oh NEO, please, you are completely discounting mind control and brainwashing. In the 70’s you had a huge influx of young impressionable people looking for something, wanting to part of something bigger than themselves, looking for meaning. They were conditioned to do

I think the main reason I was apprehensive about the level of intoxication within the ranks of 'ministries,' is that they were often assuming a role of managing (to put it lightly) people's lives. I've witnessed and also received truly bizarre directives from obviously drunk authorities. Yes, I suppose there might have been a few that could be reasonably functional while

BTW, the years I spent in South Gate (90-97) were marked by a very conservative (and refreshing attitude) toward alcohol consumption. A former member, who was attending that church when I was, prompted me to clarify things with this question: "I don't remember drinking at South Gate. Do you?" The valley church and TLW was another matter, of course--or at least I have been told.

I guess my prediction early in the year that there would probably be a dwindling interest in what is written here, given that we seemingly had covered just about everything TLWF-related, was off base. Yes, very reasonable. Many might be motivated to go by that generous discount. Here's a post by 'reveal' who attended Marilyn's funeral: Re: The Living Word Fellowship, The Walk, John Robert Stevens Posted by: reveal () Date: October 14, 2018 12:19PM FROMSOUTHCHICAGO, I'm glad you asked about Marilyn's funeral because it's something I have thought of

Thanks Lulu. People continue to come forward and lay bare the truth of their experience within TLWF, facilitating their own healing while helping others. It's encouraging. The discussion continues :) p.s. to give you an idea of the integrity of the core group of posters, years ago I submitted a revelation to them that we find a way to charge $40 for each new participant in the forum (

Decades of sexual abuse by ministries close to Gary, yet he seems to have been unaware of it. However, he did apologize for not listening to the Holy Spirit, and allegedly tore down religious hierarchy--so I suppose that is a start toward accepting some responsibility. /s Thank you PowerTrip for adding yet another (significant) piece to this puzzle of the sordid history of TLWF/Walk. I suppose this is the time that I wish my dear friends on this forum a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. However, there is something deeply bothering me, a practice (I think) a few of are guilty of, and I won't be at peace until I unload about it. Better doing it this year than carrying it into the new year. Realize my expression may be a bit brusque, but it is backed by a love and appreci

True, Cloudwatcher. It is sad. 'You’ll Worry Less About What People Think of You When You Realize How Seldom They Do' This adage certainly applies to Hargrave. Even when feigning concern and backing a gesture of goodwill--such as the authorized 'Thinking of You' pre-printed birthday cards sent out years ago--it is but a hollow effort. If he is reaching out to people now
