I've brought this up before. There are the chosen few on whom the organization depends on, the very intelligent, talented, or very well connected few who are given guidance to concentrate on their studies, work, etc., "don't chant excessively, don't go to too many meetings now, your time will come", for example SGI brain surgeons or high earners. Everyone else is a grunt

They fail to follow Nichiren who teaches that faith in the Lotus Sutra is first and foremost. It is enough to chant until one feels happy, usually fifteen or twenty minutes. Of course, there are those exceptional times when one might want to chant more, for example, the recent death of a loved one. Not finding a mate right now or the perfect job, is not a life and death situation. They have turne

Sandra and Dick Geaur were top SGI leaders. They were always giving guidance about how to sustain healthy relationships. You guessed it, they divorced after 20 years. The rumors were flying and not one word of contrition from either one for citing themselves as perfect examples of matrimonial bliss thanks to the SGI teachings. Since there is no moral compass in the Soka Gakkai , actually there i

I agree. It's all me me me in the Gakkai and thinking themselves superior or inferior to others. The good ones arejust into themselves and their own "Human Revolution". The bad ones are down right malevalent. The exceptions are the new members who just want a respite from their problems and are excited about a new philosophy/religion that falsely promises them the world. The tr

Empathy is being able to put oneself in another person's shoes. I never found empathy in the Soka Gakkai because the organization takes precedence over the individual. They would often quote President Toda, "The organization is more important than my life" or leaders were always placing the blame on the failures of the organization by placing the blame on you, "you are the or

I third the welcome. Here is a little something I clearly perceived today: The Entertainment and Free Labor Industry is SGI's Big Business Utilizing free labor to maintain the lifestyles of SGI top leaders is the business strategy of the Soka Gakkai multinational religious corporation. The unpaid janitors, receptionists, security personal, ministers, and cashiers are great for the bot

QuoteHitchThanks, Nichijew. I don't do facebook, so, unfortunately, I can't see the photo(s). There was a period of time in my "practice" that I just did whatever it was I was told to do. This particular cult camping activity coincided with that time. I often never knew what I was getting myself into, just practicing to keep my parents happy and basically be a good boy.

Hi Hitch. This is my friends Facebook page on which an SGI member posted a picture of this giant SGI YMD camp out on his wall. Go down 6 or 7 wall posts. Is this it? Nichijew

QuoteKRHow could you tell if you won a debate with an SGI member? When he or she reaffirms to you that they are chanting for your happiness. Hehe. Or when they begin to engage in bull-baiting and ad hominim, asking you if you are high, or drinking, hateful, resentful, racist.... Nichijew

Fear will prevent you from blossoming. That is what they want, in order to validate their delusion. There is great big beautiful world outside of the Soka Gakkai and there are legitimate Lotus Sutra schools you can investigate if you want to continue chanting with a group. Nichijew

Quotejlynneda63Hi, Am new list member. I left the SGI in Feb. after a series of uncomfortable & not ok issues. One of mine is that I have not seen a picture posted of Pres.Ikeda dated beyond 2010! I began noticing then. I started watching W.T. issues closely. By Sept. 2011 I came to believe that he was incapacitated in some manner & that if there were award pics & of course there w

QuoteThe AnticultIts not enough for Ikeda to rob the SGI rich and give to the poor, like Robin Hood. Ikeda has to rob the SGI rich, and rob from the SGI poor too...and pocket both. Its like Caesar and other tyrants, who always raise taxes most on the poorest. Ikeda and SGI knows most people with money are not idiots, and do not throw their money around, only a few do. But they also know,

The Gohonzon, for Nichiren Buddhists, is a sacred Object of Devotion, yet the SGI gives them out like Las Vegas escort fliers. Every Tom, Dick, and Yushi who want one, has 12 dollars for a Gohonzon, and 36 dollars for subscriptions, gets one. Before, the Gohonzon was 5 dollars and you didn't even need to buy the subscriptions. If the new member couldn't afford it, the sponsors would buy

i never knew I was going to a Buddhist meeting but rather a party , got to the party and was placed in the middle of a couple dozen people kneeling on the floor, I heard a bell, people started chanting, and a Nam Myoho renge kyo flier was placed in front of me and I was told to say those words. I was somewhat weirded out but unfortunately, it was a good party and i was hooked. Nichijew

I knew this fellow, Kevin O'Neil. He was a 7th degree blackbelt and had a Master's degree in Asian philosophy. He was also a strong District Leader. One day he took the SGI up on their exortation to ask as many questions as you like. He gave Mr. Kasahara a notebook with 3000 questions. After several months and not receiving a single answer to even one question, he confronted Mr. Kasahar

It would take an Ex-SGI Leader to come forward and tell about how they were trained to manage the SGI streeters, as SGI has a system of how to deal with new people wh
