Looking for help, landmark has been "going public" for years. I will believe it when I see it. The shares I have from being a staff member are worth next to nothing

Looking for help, what ever you do DO NOT DO THE FORUM. alot of people go to find out more so they can help others. My experience is that once there it is almost impossible to remain objective and not get into the programme

I became very disillusioned with everything I saw. While on staff I really began to see the hypocrisy of say one thing do another. Added to this, the stress of the work load, the continual putting down of staff by managers and leaders and I quit working for the. For a while after I was no longer a staff member or a leader I continued to be involved but I really saw more and more how they use p

All I can tell you, tywebb, is to get as many friends and family involved as possible. It wasn't me alone who turned things around. It was the concerned words of her family, friends, and colleagues. This is absolutely correct it is important to have friends and family however if someone is already involved, even friends and family may not be listened to initally. I certainly didn

If your wifes one hang up is the "non-refundable" deposit, the reality is that a memo went out to all landmark centres a few years ago saying if a customer asked for and was demanding the deposit back then they were to give it back. Alternately just tell your wife to tick "yes" in one of the well being questions. The best one is the medication one. They dont want you doin

In my time with landmark I have never heard a leader say that someone is the blame of any of those things. however they do say that how people live after those events is their own responsibility. My experience is that the tone and words they use however leaves people with the sense that they are to blame! So in a very disguised way they do push this way of thinking. I have always remembered

As an ex employee I honestly don't know how you would stop them, you can't infiltrate because to do that you have to have done their courses and be successfull and for landmark that means registering a STACK LOAD of people. Even if you do infiltrate you wouldn't be sucessful (in my opinion) simply because they dont tell their staff everything and in fact in my opinion I perso

Just to clarify Landmark do offer discounted costs to programmes if a person registers during a course and yes this is purely a way to get more sales. In fact I remember we used to heavily promote the communication courses as being something that if they registered into both programmes at once they will get a scholarship but this really was just a discount. Landmark also offers "full s

Ellen, You are right it is not really a scholarship but a give away. I use the term scholarship because that is what it was always called. And this free participation for ex staff is often what keeps them involved even after they are no longer on staff. many will review programmes every few years. There are very few staff or ex staff who are completely anti landmark.

Sorry missed answer about who pays for the scholarship Landmark does. Graduates do not specifically put money into a "scholarship account" basically the person who is getting the scholarship is in the programme but Landmark is not making any money from them

There are not that many scholarships. Centre managers have discretion to give out scholarships and often around christmas they will give one out. randomly. Senior leaders (volunteers) such as seminar leaders, SELP leaders, TMLP and ILP leaders all get full scholarships and their immediate family get half price. All staff and their partners and children get full scholarships once they h

QuoteIn the next few days, Landmark Education" will hold a one its "Special Evening" events, which is, in fact, a sales event, to which Landmark "graduates" are "invited" to bring their friends. They have sent me three postcards and called me five times over the past few weeks with people in the Landmark Assistance Program trying to get me to attend. Now I will

I do know a couple of years ago a forum leader would be paid around the $60-$70k mark. Which is a relatively good income. The thing to keep in mind is that they get all their travel paid for and they get a daily amount for each day they are away which is usually around $50-$100 per day depending on which country they are in. The staff in the offices who do a lot of work behind the scenes ar

Hi Jeannie, Well done on leaving, Usually people stay simply because the pressure put on them is enough to keep them in the course even if they don't want to. The words and language will go if you avoid conversations with people who are using it, and if you are talking to a grad, don't let them manipulate you with the language. just talk like you normally would and when they tr

I was heavily involved in the organisation for many years and it has been a few years since I removed myself from its manipulation. I have done participated in many programmes and reviewed many of them and in fact four ye

As someone who has done the courses I believe that Landmark is a dangerous manipulate company. I agree with what Midonov has said. QuoteThe fact is, there are no secrets, only deceipt. I have watched landmark forum leaders rip to shreads another person. They take pride in humliating another person in front of a group. I have been at the receiving end of a LOT of inappropriate "coac

Hi Midonov, While on staff at lanadmark I did get sick and I was at the receiving end of numerous coaching about how I was causing myself to be sick and how my inauthenticity was making me sick or that I was running a racket etc etc. They do believe that you can talk yourself into or out of anything including sickness but they will never actually say this - they know what would happen if the

Well done, an excellent list of what to do to avoid their techniques. I would add to the following : QuoteDon’t go. If it’s a friend or employer who is “enrolling” you, give a very firm “NO” as soon as possible, or better yet, use Landmark-speak and say “I choose not to go.” Give no explanations, for none will be accepted. This will not be easy for most people, but it is highly recommended.

Quotewhat still astonishes me about the critics of landmark is that they still believe that landmark has its good points. I believe this is because if you initally have the exhillaration and the feelings of "everything is going to be great" its hard to then combine that with the later negative reality that descends. I am now a critic of Landmark Education but I at times think ab

QuoteWhat seems to be a common attitude with graduates (and actually establishes the Landmark chain of command) is that when someone up the chain tells them that they're running a racket, they instantly submit, but anyone down the chain who disagrees is the one running a racket. This is where the blocking comes in. They completely ignore facts, or when the facts don't suit, they adjust

Those areas that landmark quotes it has worked in or with are the same ones they keep quoting years after the fact. They claim to work with goverment departements simply because in New Zealand there were staff from the ministry of health and from the prisons who were put through. Or they claim to have worked with members of parliament because one member of parliament happened to attend a co

Quote Landmark employees and volunteers are trained to respect outright "No", but are trained to use waffling as an opportunity, just like in sales. I realize that some people waffle because they don't like to tell people "no" or because they're afraid of appearing some way to others, or because they think it's rude to be blunt. I worry about those people and La

There is a point during day one when you can get up and leave and get a refund minus the non refundable deposit. Personally you are better to pull out before because you will get the same amount. Hi Midonov, Just to let you know. before a person is accepted into the seminar leader programme they have to have led successfully to 200 people. being sucessful is measured by the percentage who register for the landmark forum. QuoteNew Zealand is also a soft target, remembering that Landmark Education refers to NZ as it's most successful country with the highest per capita enrolment in the world. Landmark wanted New Zealand to be the first country that it achieved critical mass. That being that a certain percentage of the country had participated in landmark and that a high percentage of the country knew of lan

Midonov, I think I will reclarify what I mean, I do not mean for anyone to run away from this, I still recommend exercising caution in dealing with a graduate manager or someone who is in a position to fire you. I have heard and unfortunately seen people work out ways to "legally" get rid of staff and replace them with graduates. It is completely unethical and should be illega

Although Midonov makes a valid point, I would recommend some caution in approaching your manager in such a way as if he has done the Landmark forum he will find this to be a personal attack and although he legally may not be able to fire you for your view points, if America is anything like New Zealand, there are ways to get rid of an employee without breaking the law! Free speech may be in yo

It never ceases to amaze me that they claim to not make enough of a profit. They have numerous offices around the world, run primarily by unpaid staff (known as people in the assisting programme) the paid staff in the offices are on the whole under paid for what they do. Many are paid just on their countries minimum wage. They have courses that cost any where from $100 to $1000 and have
