Hello everyone--been a little while and I have now caught up on reading. There is a lot of food for thought here---to the point that I am really astounded at how far reaching this LW disease is. I will weigh in more later because I am in the middle of s**t.

But I have a question for Changedagain. As of the 23rd of this month there are 274,443 page views--that seems like quite an increase just this month--if memory serves.

So what was the tally beginning January 1? And what was the tally as of October 21,2015? I would be interested in knowing just how much of an increase there was as it seems I recall that it is quite substantial. Can you figure those things out and post? Not that I care about those kinds of things....LOL.

Hi Cloudwatcher,
I haven't been tracking it too closely (date to date). But my impression, as well as yours, is that there has been a significant uptick this month. Perhaps it is the specific subjects we have been discussing--not sure.

6,438,799 people at Trump's inauguration...
Don't question this stat. It comes from an extremely credible source.

Shhhh. Don't encourage him!

changedagain, when you're done with your stats would you ask Gary when he is going to declare Donald Trump to be a Nephilim?

PS: This post script is only to be read by Cloudwatcher. Why the heck would you encourage him? lol

I just finished watching this seasons last episode of A&E's investigation into Scientology (taped it). Steven Hassan (he wrote Combating Cult Mind Control) was interviewed. It was my favorite episode and recommend anyone questioning the validity of mind control go to the A&E webpage and watch.

This is from Brain & Thought Control in Scientology. Estabrooks describes what he calls the "sincere dictator":

The dictator may be, generally is, a man of great personal courage. He plays along grimly till the last throw of the dice and meets his fate with his chin up. This may be because he is perfectly sincere. This sounds like a strange contradiction, but we must accept it. The dictator really believes that he is God's chosen instrument -- or society's chosen instrument, if he does not believe in God -- to lead his group, or possibly the entire world, into the promised land. The resulting picture is not pleasant and the individual who creates that picture is easily the most dangerous of all the mentally maladjusted. He has intelligence, conviction, drive, courage, and will be utterly unscrupulous -- a combination which calls for serious concern.

That last episode is really excellent. Steve Hassen talks about the similarities between Scientology and other cults. For example:

1. A secret doctrine that new people are not exposed to until fully ensconced into the cult.

2. Submitting major life decisions to the cult.

3. Shunning of people that leave the group.

Note: The Living Word does all three of these things. They do it today and they have done this even back in the JRS days.

So true. I remember how controversial it was for me to make a decision-without the aid of shepherds-- to take care of my father (biological) during what became
the last year of his life. There was an aspect of me that actually felt I was sinning by taking care of my flesh and blood.

275,322 as of today. I get these info after posting a comment...it takes me the page showing activity.
The weird thing is...I'm not the least bit interested in stats. I think I have mentioned that before.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I did two tours as a participant in TLW the first from 1969 to 1973, the second from 1976 to 1980. As a result I missed the mine adventure and was gone by the time the Gary and Marylin show started. However, from what I do know (or heard during my second stint) that account appears reasonable. I was friends with the Halla's (I think that is right) in the early 70's (went to meetings at their home in Bay Park) and I know that they lost a boat load of money in that thing becoming very bitter as a result.

I was at Coniah mostly so most of my perspective comes from that. R. D. Cronquist was quite a space case, IMO. I never got to know JRS.
