Apparently, this has been deleted from just about everywhere. Tulsi Gabbard praising her "Gurudev" along with a lovely video of the kind and compassionate Chris Butler, Jagad Guru Siddhaswarupananda Paramahamsa:

As with everything related to this cult, it will probably be scrubbed now. Luckily, we all have copies of that and some to remind folks. Sadly, this stuff actually appeals to the culty mindset of her supporters both in and out of the cult.

https://www.msn.com/en-in/news/world/tulsi-gabbard-did-british-daily-call-hinduism-or-iskcon-an-obscure-cult/ar-AA1uuE8w

“She has publicly stated that she no longer regards Butler as her guru and identifies instead with mainstream Hindu teachings centered on devotion to Krishna, the Supreme Lord in Vaishnavism.”...

I would like to see the source of this “denouncement” of Butler. It’s a fabrication, no doubt.

Ironically, the media is up in arms about SIF being called an “obscure religious cult.” It’s tough not to call it anything else.

Put Butler on a lineup next to 20 other modern-day Gaudiya Vaishnav gurus, and he will stick out like a sore thumb. No other guru in this cult lives in a fully paid-for Hawaii beachfront mansion with personal servants around the clock. No other Gaudiya gurus have their walls lined with tin foil to barricade themselves from germs, and their personal service staff walk around them wearing covid masks.

So is sick of people trying to normalize any ounce of this asshole’s life, his followers, and the culty ass shit they teach people in the name of some so-called devotion and love.

Gabbard is still very much in the cult. Her views and even recent support of Trump harken to the exact rhetoric that we grew up with and were raised with within the cult: Heavy indoctrination into the service of Chris Butler as God’s only valid representative on earth. Not allowed to question him/his authority without risking retribution, excommunication, etc.

Disciples in his personal service were forced to sign NDAs and follow ridiculous rules in his service (the kitchen rules list was a famous one, and people were forced to pay penalties to Butler if they messed up) and subjected to threats of spiritual suicide for questioning Butler. Endless ridicule, criticism, and verbal abuse by Bulter of his followers worldwide. In most cases, he used verbal abuse, but he did have disciples wear paper bags on their heads in front of all the other followers at times and other demanding things. He was always protected by armed bodyguards and used threats of violence against those who went against him.

Extensive involvement in money-making schemes, illegal boarding schools in the Philippines where Tusli was at the girl’s school and about 40 of us boys were sent by our parents to live overseas in Baguio, Philippines, in the boy’s school and subjected to unsanitary conditions and ridiculous austerity involving waking every day at 4 AM to take cold bucket showers and chant-like robots on beads and forced to listen to countless taped lectures of Butler wherein he is criticizing his disciples (often our parents), swearing and using vulgar language to demean other religious groups, including ISKCON (who they now conveniently claim to be a part of as well as the larger hindu community even though we were told to never associate with ISKCON nor call ourselves hindu—yet now they claim they are a part of it as it helps bolster Tusli’s political career).

At the boy’s school in the PI we had extensive exposure to inappropriate videos made by Mike Gabbard (tulsi gabbards dad) when he had his Stop Promoting Homosexuality program in Hawaii where we were shown videos (some of us were as young as 9 and 10) of homosexual men having sex, and the theme was that they all got AIDS and died at the end.

Endless exposure to vulgar taped lectures wherein Butler is describing homosexual sex acts and other sex acts and denigrating the homosexual community, etc. We were forced to write essays on these lectures and listen to them repeatedly for years. I was there for 4 years, ages 12-16. I was in the cult from age 10-18, then in several other Krishna cults till I was 25.

Devotees were excommunicated if they tried to seek inspiration and spiritual support/encouragement from similar groups (e.g., other Gaudiya Vaishnava groups). Followers were told to give up to 50% of their income or hand over their businesses to Butler in the name of so-called “karma yoga.”

This and much more is documented on the Cult Education Forum. Many videos, lecture tapes, and letters from Butler and even Tulsi praising their Guru have all been scrubbed meticulously from the internet. https://x.com/TxPlantsman/status/1609337138465705985

Many of the boys I went to the boarding school with ended up either personal servants of Butler or psychologically damaged and turned to drugs/alcohol, etc.

The cult is shrouded in secrecy, and followers are told not to engage with the outside world. Butler had at least 2-3 other followers he groomed in political ways, including Mike Gabbard, AKA Krishna Katha Das (as well as Rick Reed/Wayne Nishiki were the ones we were all instructed by Butler to vote for), who was his secretary, as was his wife (initiated name: Devahuti Dasi).

Butler actively told us to vote and support these political candidates as a “service” to him and as something pleasing to god.

Butler’s spiritual master, AC Bhaktivedanta swami (founder of ISKCON) had ambitions of creating a “godly government” under the banner of the Hare Krishna faith wherein if people did not conform, they would be shot: [harekrishnatruthout.wordpress.com]

Anyway, I don’t have anything against the Hare Krishna. They are essentially a harmless faith of devout people worshipping their god, but such rhetoric does follow them and inform the hope/thinking of some of those in leadership positions. Butler started such a political movement in the 1970s: Independents for Godly Government.

But again, much, if not all, of this and more has been exposed over the years.

My personal feelings are aligned with those of Tulsi Gabbard’s aunt, who ironically was murdered earlier this year shortly before Gabbard went on a rather beelined course to support Trump. I feel that Gabbard is mostly doing whatever she can to grab attention and power wherever she can get it because her Guru wants to have political influence on his behalf. Much of Gabbard’s positions echo Butler’s and what we were raised to believe and follow.

I think Gabbard is a good person, but this cult completely brainwashed her. She will continue to reinvent herself in a political context for Butler as long as he asks her to, and she will do it in a second if he asks her to drop out. Her life up to date has been 90% a lie.

Gabbard was born and raised in the cult. Many articles stipulate that she became interested in “Hinduism” in her teens. That is a total lie. She was born and raised in the Science of Identity cult from birth.

As kids, we were sent away to Butler’s boy’s schools in the Philippines, operated by his Disciple, Tapasya Das, AKA Ramon ‘toby’ Tamayo. Gabbard was married to one of the Tamayo, Eduardo, as was typical within the cult (including ISKCON). Most cult members are in arranged marriages or marriages that Butler sanctioned. These were essentially indoctrination schools where we were taught to serve Butler and allowed our parents the freedom to serve Butler unencumbered by the responsibility of raising us.

Butler devotees worldwide are told to support Tusli Gabbard online and proliferate websites, forums, and other such sites with comments in support of her. She also attracts the support of fanatical ISKCON devotees and Hindu nationalists. That is who she appeals to.

The cult is highly secretive about its ideology. In essence, the belief is that if you follow the rules, worship the Guru, and chant the mantras, you will understand your eternal relationship with god as either a cowherd girl/boy/motherly figure or ambiguous other objects in the heavenly planet of “Goloka,” which translates to “Cow Land” wherein you live for eternity with the Krishna god in a sort of pastoral paradise and help God and His girlfriend Radha “enjoy” (essentially have sex). But it’s all “transcendental”...

Butler’s guru’s name is Jagad Guru Siddhswarupananda Paramahamsa Srila Prabhupada. There was also much controversy with him when he was still in ISKCON back in the day, as he was said to have been involved in stealing temple property and followers from Bhaktivedanta Swami. As a renunciate, he was initiated into a lifelong vow of celibacy, but soon after breaking off from ISKCON upon his guru’s death, he married one of his own disciples by asking one of his followers to divorce her cause he “liked her.”... His wife is Wai Lana, the famous Chinese Public Access TV yoga personality [en.wikipedia.org]. Butler had essentially married her to build a product empire and make money from her otherwise established persona. Her devotee’s name is Vaishnava Dasi.

For the last 20 years, butler has been a recluse dictating the lives of his followers from behind the curtain. Recent images show him clad from head to toe in white clothing covered from head to toe wearing a wide-brim hat and a COVID mask—in 90° weather in Hawaii, being walked by one of his slave labor servants. The SIF organization has mostly devolved into a yoga/meditation studio on the outside. Some outreach activities like saving turtles and cleaning up beach trash are done by fringe followers who have NEVER met their guru in person. You would be hard-pressed to find many modern-day Butler devbots who actually have a personal relationship with their “teacher.” A few fringe videos made in the 80s are their only connectin to him.

Anyway, if that all doesn’t sound like an obscure cult to you, I don’t know what does.

Gralow suffered a lot at the hands of the cult. Her work in exposing them and connecting the dots reinforced much of what we knew and much much more. Nothing about it is speculative or exaggerated. She just states it like it happens and if it sounds crazy it's cuz it was/is.
