Gauranga Breathing is a hoax - completely made up by Siddhaswarupananda.

While his disciples say that it is an ancient technique from Lord Gauranga given to us in his merciful mission to show us how to love god there is no reference for it in Scripture, not in the teachings of Chaitanya (Gauranga) and can only be found being taught by Siddha followers and on Wai Lana CDs. Far from ancient it evolved at some point after 1984 when there were a lot of changes in SOI.

This is an excellent story by someone who was in another Hindu cult which sounds just like SOI in so many ways.

Long time practice of meditation can lead to lack of spatial reasoning also which is the ability to read maps/logically follow directions or even recall where you have just been.

I lived with a long time cult member 8 years and it was very much here is someone we brainwashed earlier. He is by no means an unintelligent person, but he cannot read a book for more than ten minutes at a time because he can't focus and the effort he finds reading makes him fall asleep. He has trouble managing money and doing cash up which is basic arithmetic and his spatial reasoning is shot to hell. He cannot drive somewhere and then drive home again a couple of hours later without getting lost. If he deviates from the path of driving to work even slightly he gets lost. Once it took almost an hour to follow simply transitioning from the highway to the offramp because he just couldn't get it. It's sad to watch the process happening to someone and actually getting worse because they dig their claws in.

There is nothing spiritual about this.
