Hello, I'm out of the cult TLWC and have been since I was 15. My parents got out when I was 18. I was never sexually or physically abused. I did have emotional, mental, and spiritual abuse. I want to connect to people from these times and places to compare memories and give myself closure. My grandma started her family attending TLWC in the 70s I think. My parents were 2nd generation wh

Some posts by 'Imapurple': Posted by: Imapurple Date: May 27, 2019 08:20PM So All of this is very interesting. So much history, so much hurt. I’m new to this but have been reading it for years. I was VERY involved in the back side of all this with JRS , G&M , Rick and everything that was going on at Blix, CLW, TLW and Shiloh. I just want to say I have so much love for so many

Any chance the link to watch or join the services was in that email and you would feel inclined to share it? I promise I have no nefarious purposes, but I am curious about what is being said these days in services. So many churches are offering free broadcasts and streaming versions of their services. It would surprise me if Shiloh was doing the same, but I would be interested in hearing what is

It would be amusing if someone violently prayed that the proceeds from the sale of Shiloh property will not be placed under the control of just a few people since all have labored to fulfill God's word!

I hear quite a few people are moving from San Diego to Arizona right now. I hope they are delivering themselves from the cult; and that San Diego die hards will finally go away and / or find healing from the toxic Julie Larson / Bruce Larson poison and other henchmen like Sebolt and the senior Sayers. We are still being bombarded with joining a group online that has Sunday services in the Shiloh

One thing I do remember about JRS passing, was when they were having prolonged "meetings' to bring him back from the dead! That should have been the nail in the coffin(sorry terrible pun) for people at Shiloh, and all over the organization. What surprised me most as I think about it now, is someone didn't come onto the scene and claim to be the resurrected spirit of JRS ! It

HA! I just talked to Simon Nisly a few days ago! I don't know if he's actually running the sawmill anymore, it sounds like they aren't making pallets anymore, just offering logging and tree service! Anyway, I almost bet I could get you one of those hats! Simon and I graduated together, he said he is still in the organization although Shiloh was all sold out from under them with

th23195, I received a few emails from regular posters, some who spent over 40 years in the Walk/TLWF, a good portion of it at Shiloh...and yet they have no idea who you might be. Can you drop some specific hints? What seems strange, is that you indicate you are around 60 years old, yet knew John way before the Walk (if I have that correct). The Walk began in 1951, when John started the church

Happy to have you aboard th231955 I want to comment on your statement, ..."Godly man! I wonder how he could have gotten so evil! " It sure seemed that way, but, IMO it was only an illusion. Many more than I saw indiscretions here and there and questioned the 'human flaws" under our breaths, in our heads or even voiced the irregularities out loud and paid dearly for

C H A N G E D When I arrived at Shiloh in June of '78, it was quite an electric atmosphere--kind of like a mini-Woodstock live-in with 400+ 'like-minded?' individuals from all over the country. My entire time I bunked in a room with five other guys, mostly sawmill crew, along with a few randoms.  The schedule was insane (referenced in earlier posts), but being young (stupid?)

TH231955 You bring a sobering assessment of being one who was looking from the outside in with a larger perspective than most of us had. My Shiloh stint was 1978-79 at the Sawmill with over 400+ living in the house.  Most of us were 20-somethings, full of piss & vinegar, thinking we were God's gift, only to find out we were a package of full of deception and disappointment. Also to be sure I am an ordained minister, living a Spirit-filled life and not following man! I knew the Walk was big, but wow these posts on the forum are mind-boggling! Jesus is the answer, but letting man guide you will always take you places you don't need to go! JRS was an antichrist, PERIOD! I lived in the yellow house north of Richmond Iowa 50 yds from the south entrance to Shiloh!

The Living Word Fellowship, The Walk, John Robert Stevens Posted by: Altar_Kent Date: February 23, 2004 12:18AM Is anyone familiar with this movement? It is based in Kalona Iowa at a camp/compound called Shiloh. It was founded by John Robert Stevens and first called the walk. Stevens came out of the Latter Rain movement, built quite a congregation, and then died in 1983. The Living word Fel

I never worked at the sawmill, let alone suffered an injury there, but that doesn't stop me from wearing my 'Shiloh Sawmill Veteran' hat on the weekends. People seem impressed. ;)

I also enjoyed my interaction with Simon Nisely at the sawmill. Wonderful person. John Bender was very nice also and his wife. I think he could fix anything. The best part of Shiloh was stealing cookies at midnight with Jim Stewart and Jeff Fry. Gladys knew we did it, but her scolding was not very serious and had love intermixed. Yes, there were some wonderful people mixed in. I never saw any lea

M O V I N "Still, it is weird in retrospect that working in a sawmill was considered an equivalent "serving" ministry to working in housekeeping or construction." Being one of those who was there both at the sawmill and the accident mentioned, I can assure you we were all under the same impression of 'serving' that anyone else was under, be it the garden, kitch

Whoever asked about the arrangement between the sawmill and Shiloh, it was supposed to be 5 dollars an hour to Shiloh for this slave labor. What did you guys get for that? 80 bucks a month and all the corn chowder you could stomach. ******************** I think

C H A N G E D To add insult to injury, I believe about a year before the sh*t hit the fan, there was a ceremonial ground-breaking for the Shiloh U. library, which would have further siphoned funds away from a retirement home that was never to be. Stonehenge cemetery, anyone?
