QuoteThe Biggest Douche and Biggest Douche Bag in the Universe Excuse my French, but I'm trying to avoid being sued for referring to David R. Hawkins. He's the retired psychiatrist who thinks applied kinesiology (AK) is a perfect lie detector in the hands of someone like himself who calibrates his own level of consciousness as just below god or some such thing. Anyway, for some time

Dr. Carroll added a new essay to his site on July 16, 2007 that may get at some of what you are saying. It is titled "Evaluating Personal Experience" Carroll addresses anecdotal evidence specifically regarding AK and Hawkins, among other subjects, and speaks to the need for controlled experiments over personal testimony. There is some information on the Rick Ross site regarding

Quotetbonegeek18Hello everyone! David Hawkins is one of my many teachers. Who are your other teachers? Quotetbonegeek18One thing I notice is some apparent contradictions in his AK. However - I can't but notice the presense that he speaks of. Not only this, but I count myself as on the Pathway of the Heart. The only thing I pay attention to in his work is his parts on love and givin

QuoterrmoderatorPraising and/or promoting Ramana or any other philosophy or religious writer, thinker is not the purpose of this board. This is a violation of the rules regarding promoting beliefs and essentially preaching. I was responding to Shimon's most recent post on this thread. I understand; thanks for the clarification. QuoterrmoderatorPlease don't use this board to promote your personal religious beliefs. For purposes of clarity, if this is in reference to the comedians I referred to such as Swami Beyondanda and CosCon, that was just for purposes of humor. I don't think they are real teachers nor have religious beliefs that I know of. If in reference to Shimon stating that he wants to stick with Raman

QuoteshimonI thought it over and i am going to go and read Ramana Maharshi now instead of Hawkins. I cant go wrong with him or be misled by him or have to worry about any cult like tendencies with him, for there are none. He is dead and his teachings shine through pristinely. There are no calibrations or levels in his teachings. There is just Reality. Gotta love good old Ramana. It is best that i

QuoteshimonAnother of Hawkins calibrations that is goofy is that of Ramesh Balsekar at 760. 600 + is enlightenment and ramesh is way over 600 and rameshes guru was Nisargadatta Maharaj which calibrated at 720, the same as Ramana Maharshi. Both Ramana and Nisargadatta were considered two of the greatest teachers of all time. ANd hawkins calibrates ramesh as higher than these two, and from what i r

QuoteshimonI only have a minute. but wanted to say that i talked to a few buddhists recently and they confirmed to me that the dalai lama is indeed enlightened, is a living Buddha. QuoteSri Ramana's response to criticism A true sage lives their life as they teach it. If their words are full of love and compassion, nonduality, and lack of egotism, then their attitude in life should be too. This is how one tells the True Teacher from the False Guru. Nowhere is this more clear than in the response of Sri Ramana Maharshi to criticism, slander, and lies said about him
