Good point. His persona was a draw for me too.

Gary has to stay on Maui because of the custody orders for Silvana's son. Silvana shares joint custody with her ex-husband and the orders require she stay in Maui. Assuming that Gary will stay by Silvana's side, he won't be fleeing anywhere. Unless, of course, he pulls an Anthony Cox and takes his wife and step-son to hide out somewhere. History has been known to repeat itself.

puddington, you were not being ocd in your correcting my steinbeck and catcher in the wry (purposeful silliness, again!) connection BUT you did miss my correction in stating it was cannery row. sometimes one's (mine) juvenile and purposeful silliness is so below the intellect of rational folks that the point gets missed. i do mean this and am not at all being sarcastic. perhaps i should attempt to exclude any more of my silliness on any future posts. i'll ponder this while i make a margarita with my best gin and relax listening to dave van ronk's sitting on the dock of the bay on the turntable (why is the word "incorrigible" suddenly doing the tango across my cerebellum? warning puddington - don't fall for the trap!).

hoots, healing and happy trails to all you merries
respectfully, prettyboy

btw (beyond the wobble - somebody STOP me, it must be a nephi infection!), who is silvana (?sp?). am i correct in presuming she is hargrave's present squeeze?

Side note: I remember Catcher In The Rye was required reading in high school. But me, being the poor English student, never read it. But about 5 months ago, I finally bought it and read it. An odd book. I sort of felt like it was a look inside the head of Rick Holbrook.

Yes, Silvana is Gary’s current wife.
