The post 1983 shepherds in Salt Lake City had all the symptoms of OCD --- obsessive compulsive disorder. Everything had to be approved and screened by them. All ideas not originating with them were already deemed not in “divine order” and were taken as an affront to their lofty, personal authority. It was hell to be around such snobs. Talk about walking on pins & needles; the focus was not on heaven, but making sure you didn’t offend, violate or infringe upon the shepherd’s precious position. Going to church was a drag. Staying at home was much more uplifting.
In [ Full text of “Anointing – or Apostasy? The Latter Rain Legacy by Charles Graves” ] Mr. Graves makes some great comments about the last days and Noah’s ark. The general idea being that we should build our own ark, rising in Christ, the Word, study, meditation, prayer and so forth in order to rise above the flood/perplexing times.
The shepherds in Salt Lake City were destroying any “ark building” by sincere individuals who just wanted to find peace and rest for their souls in a Heavenly Father. I suspect the shepherds had already labeled “ark building” as being evidence of a rebellious, independent spirit. In their thinking all such activity was undermining their importance.
I guess we’ll see. When things begin to get really rough and tough, I wonder if their connection to G&M will measure up and be able to sustain them during the “gut-wrenching-about-to-die” events of a raging anti-christ and a world being reaped by the sickles of angels.
