Rainbow, I think it’s best if you don’t name names when you share your personal story. If you can share more without naming people, please do. I don’t mean re the names you have written in your post above. These are all leaders, or meant to be, so that was fine. We need to know these things.

Frankly, I am shocked, but not surprised. No wonder young Cedars residents didn’t want to communicate or mix with older members, when they’d heard those people being discussed and slated. We were terrible sinners and failures of course…..not.

It’s abuse simples! Rainbow you can report it to the press. It’s about saving others from the same cruelty.

When you join the church, they slowly start dropping in no tv, Christian music only.
They don’t talk about the deliverance they get you welcomed first.

Yes. I do think you’re right and I did just want to check as I don’t want to get it wrong. I agree. I look back and can’t believe that I too lived that life. I wasn’t any better than any of them. I judged, I spoke of people. It is embarrassing and shameful how we behaved.

That's the difference though Rainbow - you're able to look at yourself and hold your hands up to things you've said and done in the past. Isn't that what most of us do? We learn and grow and develop and move on and with a little humility, admit our mistakes.

I would say however that it's clear from your posts that you were young and impressionable. It's ok to give yourself a bit of a break in that respect ;-)

Hi. I really appreciate all your replies. I hated myself for many many years because of the awful mindset that struthers got me into. I won’t lie. It was like (if not) brain washing. Horrific.

This isn’t at all a threat. But I know I could cause heartbreaking, horrific damage if I was to properly confess all. I could go to the police. I could destroy so much. But it isn’t worth it.

Struthers memorial church did a wonderful job of destroying me. I hope you’re proud.

And now I will move onwards and up. I forgive you all. God bless you. I move on now xxx

Hi S30. I’ve read your post and I just want to say I am so sorry for what you went through. There’s not much else I can say. I’m just sorry you were spiritually abused in this way.

I remember staying at ‘Cedars’ and they had ‘claimed’ one of their lodgers, (or possibly mortgage holders ~ as this lady was very close to them at these times and had one of the main and biggest bedrooms) was doing witch craft and they had to get rid of her. It was so crazy and random and to this day I have never known or understood what went on. This was probably back in 1995. I don’t want to post personal details or names but if anyone would like to message me if you believe it was you please feel free. I don’t for a second believe their lies were true. I can only guess how hurtful this must have been for you xxx

I would like to add. The people I have referred to in this forum may want to consider things. There’s a lot I could share that I won’t. Because it could be hugely damaging to their lively hood if employers were to search their names. I understand that Andrew Jewell was a teacher at the school but now works for Apple? And Rhian Jewell. I am praying that she is no longer the parent contact for children at that school. I have much evidence that shows what a dangerous couple they are. Rhian, as a leader in Struthers youth, caused awful hurt and upset to myself and many of my friends. Would I be right in saying their own daughter left the church as she was criticised by her fathers best friend for being too ‘touchy feely’ with her husband?

From what I understands the speirs’ have left. Maybe not of their own will but one day I hope they will look back and thank God as they have been saved. I am glad for them.

Hi rainbow
You need to go to the police and social services. Things need doing, to make sure they don’t happen again.
It’s a vile place and people need to know the truth.
