In this one, he doesn't use a knife but it would be easy enough for a skilled magician to incorporate a knife into the act. Whether real or not, though, it is indeed scary that people would be willing to submit themselves to what they believe is real surgery at the hands of this guy.

John of God and Saint John of God of Granada are 500 years apart

At our local health food store, there is a flier, posted on the bulletin board by the bathroom, advetising the services of a lady who states she is a disciple of John of God and can channel for him.

This person is not to be confused with someone who is a legitimate saint on the Roman Catholic calendar, Saint John of God of Granada.

Wow Stoic. I'm surprised that stuff [the summary of evidence in the Ray case] is public. Somehow reading the transcripts of interviews made it all so much more real to me. The descriptions of that chaotic night are truly horrible. It makes Oprahs's whole 'John of God' thing truly beyond shocking ... more like disgusting. The events at Ray's sweat lodge should have been a wake-up call for Oprah. Instead she took things to a whole new level. It's sickening.

As posted on the SD site, this new bogus James Ray program, is just an excuse to try and dupe former customers from getting any of their money back, that were paid in advance, and not refunded.
Its also trying to trick his former customers into signing away any rights for any legal action against him.

He BURIES those clauses right in the middle of the contract, as he knows most New Agers don't read those kind of contracts.

Thanks for posting that TAC, I tend to assume that people automatically read all the small print, as its something I have made a habit of--but of course few people assume that so many cons are out there--they tend instead to assume that Oprah is full of goodwill towards her audience instead of being exclusively focu$$ed on the bottom line.

It would be interesting to find out how many New Wage customers read the fine print.
For example, that James Ray fine print, was not upfront, it was buried on the website.

Considering that most normal people do not read insurance contracts, for example, it seems likely that almost no New Wage customers read legal disclaimers. They are too generalized in their thinking, they believe the advertising.

So it would be a safe bet to realize that almost all new wage customers to not read the fine-print.
And the few who do, jut shrug it off as legal mumbo-jumbo, as they are instructed.

Of course, the skeptics and critics, read the fine-print before the advertising! As they know that is where the truth is.
