You have to kind of wonder if, when he started out, he was just sitting there sniggering in his mansion thinking "I wonder how far I can push these guys... Hmm fast for two weeks! Oh shit, they did it! Fast for two months! Holy mother they bought that one too, these idiots will do anythi g I tell them!"

They should just have a game show, call it "Who wants to be a Butler Groupie" and then each round is a bunch of increasingly crazy and degrading tasks they have to complete in order to advance to the next level of "spiritual enlightenment" and then the ultimate winner gets his own little cult and a $1,000,000 fully laundered cash start-up.

The more I read, the more I realise what a bunch of idiots my parents are. I wont blame the kids who grew up in it, they don't know any better, but the ones that chose and still choose this?? Really?? *facepalms, many many facepalms*!! I get that in the 60's and 70's this sort of thing was easy to get away with, knowledge wasn't as freely available as it is now, and awareness has grown a lot in the last 40 years. But to remain so wilfully ignorant in this day and age is bizarre. How desperate for approval do you have to be to put up with his abusive crap??

Thanks VoxVeritas, thise links were great, especially the last one. I've been interested for a while about how SoI got started, and that answered a lot of them. If anyone else has any info they can send/link me about how SoI got started, I'd really appreciate me. Pm if possible.

nice work too Rama, those memes are hillarious! I wonder how long they'll last but am enjoying them while I can :)

Tulsi Gabbard Running for Vice-President

Hawaii Free Press reports Tulsi Gabbard Running for Vice-President

To be fair, Bart Dame scooped this news last week on his Facebook page. [www.facebook.com]

Tulsi talks story - Gabbard voices support for Biden three-state plan, says willing to serve as VP

A column titled: 'Gabbard keeps ambition from getting too far ahead', LOL!

By Richard Borreca

POSTED: 01:30 a.m. HST, Aug 23, 2015

Candidates for president pick their vice presidential running mates — you can’t run for vice president, you have to be asked.

And, the cult has apparently removed the YouTube video featured in the HFP article last week. Perhaps it really was pirated and not intended for public viewing.

Mystery of the removed video. It is now back with better definition and quality: [youtu.be] confession is at 3:40

6 months of fasting
Date: August 25, 2015 12:16PM

Thanks for that confirmation Googling, my opinion is that this was actually a serious attempt by Chris Butler at his "jonestown massacre" as he obviously ordered all of his disciples to starve themselves to death. We are all just lucky that it's pretty impossible to successfully starve yourself to death while surrounded by food.

Even for the most deeply brainwashed cult member who gives it their best shot, self preservation kicks in as you narrowly avoid self induced starvation only to realize you just pissed off the "supreme personality of godhead"!

Nice to know the infinitely intelligent architect of the entire cosmos is largely concerned with the fulfillment of Chris Butler's abusive and impossibly arbitrary whims and demands.

Is Tulsi Gabbard a Secret Hater of Gays?
Date: August 26, 2015 03:52AM

Chris Butler demands absolute adherence to his teachings including his anti-gay agenda. The Hare Krishna movement and Hinduism have taught a milder anti-gay belief system, but this article will explore only the cult of Chris Butler – Science of Identity Foundation (SOI).

A recent Hawaii Free Press article by Andrew Walden announced that Tulsi Gabbard finally admitted her devotion to cult-leader, Chris Butler.

Walden also implied that Tulsi Gabbard has been getting a free ride with the media ever since she changed her stance on Gay Marriage.
“…The Chris Butler Cult was really, really, bad news until Tulsi flip-flopped on Gay Marriage. Now suddenly the rest of the media has gone silent…” Andrew Walden
A few people were uncomfortable with her explanation at the time she flip-flopped, but by suddenly becoming pro-choice and gay-friendly, Tulsi won endorsements and a Federal election. It is highly unlikely she would have been elected to Congress had she stuck with the homophobic politics of her parents (which is the stance of all other followers of Chris Butler). Butler has a long track record of running anti-gay candidates, but lost every time – except for Tulsi. Is it too much to ask of journalists to seek some proof of Tulsi’s change of heart on LGBT issues? To my knowledge, there are no Gays working in Tulsi’s office, as her volunteers, or in any of the various cult businesses with ties to her. SOI have zero followers who are openly Gay, although they claim more than 10,000 members worldwide. Wai Lan Butler, wife of Chris Butler, employs no Gays in her various yoga and health-food endeavors and there were no Gays involved in the making of her Namaste video which Tulsi promoted at the United Nations.
Tolerant and kind
And I give my respects to you again and again
We are all a part of one big family
We are brothers and sisters don’t you see
Namaste Namaste Namaste Namaste

To understand the depths of commitment Butler demands from his followers and to his anti-gay teachings – this was expressed some time ago by a contributor to the Culteducation forum, by an another ex-follower of Butler:

“…When told there was no place in his organization for gays, as he would not accept service from them. He said my sexual preferences were a choice and if I could not change that choice, then my only option was suicide…”

Flash says: “Since it is well known that Chris Butler demands total obedience from all of his followers, his mention of suicide seems almost like attempted murder”.

Thank you Flash- your recent post above, brings up an interesting point here.

Case in point:
Conspiracy

Definition of CONSPIRACY- 1. : a secret agreement to do something harmful or unlawful. 2. : the act of plotting with others to do something harmful or unlawful.”
End quote.

By this definition we can say that Chris Butler and “et al” (“Et al.” is a scholarly abbreviation of the Latin phrase et alia, which means “and others.” It is commonly used when you don't want to name all the people ...)

..did indeed promote and instigate and order his followers to cause harm/abuse to or to cause great emotional damage to MANY children and adults in his cult.
Therefore it can be stated that Chris Butler, did conspire and collude with others as yet unnamed (although we all know who they are) to inflict harm and to ostracize and indeed in some cases condemn, those in their cult that were deemed not worthy enough.

There is no question that harm was done.
There is no question that many families were destroyed.
There is no question that many children suffered severe emotional and in some cases, physical harm.
There is no questions that many of the people who suffered at the hands of Butler and “et al” still bear the scars (emotional and physical) of said abuse.

Three generations ruined.

I rest my case.

Preserving testimony
Date: August 27, 2015 02:47AM

I wrote a post here in 2013 and forgot all about it. [forum.culteducation.com]

"...I wish to preserve the following testimony from Lenore who identifies herself as a former employee of Down to Earth and having first-hand knowledge of the Gabbards, Chris Butler, and his followers. There is also a rebuttal from Rebecca who is probably a devotee of Butler and asks that Lenores testimony be deleted. Note Lenores mention of the Rick Ross Forum and her praise for dabcults videos. Here is the link for as long as it lasts: [jhaines6.wordpress.com]

The personal testimony of Lenore is very accurate in light of recently reported admissions by Mike Gabbard and Tulsi Gabbard. Rebecca must be a follower of Butler with her clever message of love and tolerance that demands censorship of Lenore. I highly recommend this exchange.

Postmortem Jean…..six hours later of constant research on the subject to get my facts straight and there’s so much dirt, my head is spinning and I’ve only touch the tip of the iceberg… it’s a huge can of worms….
Reading rick ross’s forum of x devotees, on his cult site was a never ending post on this cult of the Gabbard connection…… Daily Kos even got involved exposing the families ties to Jagad Guru Chris Butler Siddha…….
Quite frankly the members of this guru’s group behave identical to Scientology, toward X- Members and anyone mentioning negative aspects of the group or people involved.
They troll web sites and attack whomever speaks up about them and they also go after people on the street….
And then there’s Rebecca….wanting my post removed…this is a typical MO for the cult…
The connections between the Gabbard family, the cult member and funding for Tulsi’s campaign are all woven together….(Tulasi, named by the Guru himself, which she changed to position herself away from him…but only in name it seems)

The contributors, the sign wavers, campaign head quarters all populated with cult members(eye witnesses) ….look it up for yourself Jean….Tulsi changed her name, divorced her ‘arranged by the guru” husband who also gave to her campaign and went from a stance against gays and abortion to becoming a Democrat and supporting gay marriage and pro choice…

Now this cult when you leave it, get divorced, change your name that’s been given by the guru…etc…..they disfellowship you harshly ….exactly like the Jehovah Witnesses or Scientologists…your family and friends are not allow to talk to you, associate with you..
Yet this woman still enjoys all the benefits of still being in the cult, having her parents closely involved, people working for her….and her parents it’s seems are the highest leaders in the cult….Mike, Krishna Kathadas speaks for “the master” when he’s not around and his wife Carol is Devahuti Desi….. and they are also marriage counselors of the cult….and women do not enjoy equality in this organization……not part of the belief system….
And it seem due to financial holdings they have always enjoyed and positioned members inside their cult into government for protection. I was around when they had Rick Reed in for them….This came from multiple postings which I’m happy to load onto this page if need be…….. but I rather let sleeping dogs lie….
A can of worms. without a doubt…..feel free to delete it whole heartedly after you’ve read my post……I was going to post a private message on your FB page Jean, but you’re not on it that much I can see, and didn’t have a way to contact you personally which I would have preferred in this case…..it’s now 2 in the morning….I started this around 8….had dinner at 11….and enough is enough…..hugs to you and…..
all the best….

Lenore, I have no problem with anyone expressing their own views here. More often than not, I don’t have the information you people have, and as we put our heads together, hopefully we learn from one another and get a clearer picture of the situation. My only problem with anyone is that they don’t get so fired up that they forget to express their views in a respectful way, because let’s face it, other people have different viewpoints. It is up to each of us to decide what we choose to believe.

Even if we absolutely know we’re right on something, you will never convince people of this fact if you start off by offending them. They will get their backs up and may not even continue reading what may be some very important information.

I’m not directing these words at you, but to everyone who posts here . . .

Hugs,
~Jean

Hi Jean – A friend sent me a link to your blog and I’ve really enjoyed reading it. I couldn’t agree more with your advice from your “about me” page to “stay in a place of love.”
I felt really sad when I read the spiteful comment above by “Lenore” about the wonderful and inspiring young lady Tulsi Gabbard who has just been elected to Congress by an overwhelming majority in Hawaii.

In Hawaii, we try to cultivate the spirit of aloha, or love and tolerance, towards all races, religions, etc. Despite this, there was a handful of people during Tulsi’s campaign who, like “Lenore”, tried to spread fear and bigotry about her religion to attack her personally.
In my opinion “Lenore” is not coming from that place of aloha but instead is spreading fear and bigotry which is why he/she describes people in derogatory ways according to their race and occupation, such as “Mike the Samoan” and “Carol the white lady” and he/she also thinks someone being a “food server” is somehow proof they are not a worthy person.

The people of Hawaii as a whole soundly reject that kind of innuendo and bigotry, which is why Tulsi won 80% of the vote in the general election. You are obviously a person who embraces that spirit of aloha in your own life. That is why I was so sad to see that your enlightening blog is a being used by this person as a medium for fear and hatred.

Tulsi’s election truly is historic and great news for women and people of minority across the U.S., to know that they too have a chance despite the efforts of people like “Lenore” who try to stoke people’s fear of the unfamiliar and spread malicious rumors. I humbly request that this unfounded and hurtful post not be left on your blog as it does no one any good. I wish you well.

Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much)

Rebecca, thanks so much for the spirit of your words and for also giving us some perspective on Tulsi’s election! I’ve been off my blog all day – the negativity was just too much for me, too, and I decided to take a break. I’m one person, and sometimes it feels like it’s just dumped on me . . . and I retreat until the wind changes. Hugs, ~Jean

Well….. Rebecca…..Jean….
You know me so well by now Jean….:)
Let me apologize if I’ve offended you Rebecca…Jean… :)
I’ve certainly heard your point of view voiced here in Hawaii many times….. but as far as me being a bigot, maybe, who knows….I’m a “Houli” and have been married to my “Hawaiian mix plate Mayor Wright Housing Husband” for twenty plus years…….
I’d call us at this point “the people of Hawaii”….Kamaaina ya’all……. :)
So many labels right?……..so how can I be a bigot? hey, plantation days….we worked it all out with food……. we make fun of these cultural titles here in Hawaii….Frank DeLima ….you go girl(if you even get that)…….maybe it’s just my husband magically charm that doesn’t allow me to see I’m married to someone who’s as local giv’em as it gets…. :)

But seriously, my comments are not based in cultural but in specific meaning… and applies to these folks alone….no one else…..
They are based in first hand knowledge not racial bias…
…I wrote Mike the Samoan and Carol the White Lady to point out one very specific fact, that …drumroll please…..
NO ONE IS A NATIVE HINDU IN THIS FAMILY ……they are from Hawaii and her mother may very well be from the mainland……….. nobody’s from India….
And their “hinduism” is all about following this splintered Hare Krishna guru, period…….

I’ve spent a lifetime in front of masters and gurus, lived in ashrams and communities(child of the 60’s)…and have had experience in these areas…I’m very familiar with them…and I’m also very familiar with the head of the Hare Krishna movement, Brabhupada…who was truly a humble, magnificent, divine soul, who only had one suitcase and lived an exemplary life…

This unusual germ phobic fellow Chris Butler, went into the Hare Krishna movement, got enmeshed with Brabhupada….took who he could drag from the community and left, true story… Brabhubada begged him not to do it, but he did it anyway…..
He came back here to Hawaii and created a cult around himself…
Maybe you don’t you know about this Rebecca…or….(maybe you do and your a disciple?)…….this is Tulsi’s guru and source of Hinduism…I’m sure, as her father Mike was Siddha’s right hand man when he was cooking in Siddha’s health food store and I’m pretty sure that hasn’t changed by the trajectory and message Mike carried thru out his career into the Senate…they have very clear perspectives on gay rights and abortion that follow the far right…but here in Hawaii politicians who identity with the Republican far right perspective don’t do that well…in fact it’s hard for them to get elected(Linda Lingle’s shedding a few tears)……..so they tend to hide certain things…..

Tulsi ran on the notion that she was a Hindu, and people who didn’t know her, thought she was from India…. the real story was never clarified……she’s no more a minority that Patsy Mink, Dan Inouye, Coleen Hanabusa, Mazie Hirono…etc etc….she a mixed plate from Hawaii, plain and simple…..
I’m sick and tired of “wag the dog” type politics……

Many here on Jean’s page, make an effort daily to lift up the curtain, so they can find the truth lurking under the covers, like the Wizard of Oz, with the man flipping the switch….

If you knew about Chris Butler and his followers eating his nail clippings(I swear, I can’t make the shit up) because they think he’s so holy…if you understood the undertow involved, you may see thing with a new perspective….or maybe you already know…and your here for that reason, I don’t know….

But hey don’t listen to me, please, go to youtube and type in Siddha Swarup/Chris Butler….you’ll see for yourself….there’s some French gentleman from Canada, who’s made videos about this very subject…who appears to have been a disciple of Brabhupada/ Hare Krishna movement, and was there during Siddha’s time period and saw what went on…

This fellow is so mad he’s made a bunch of videos on exact subject above.

I had no idea, I just found them…..He explains the betrayal of faith in the choices Tulsi has run on, base on her supposed Krishna beliefs…they don’t believe in abortion the are against gay rights etc etc….theres a string of beliefs…..this fellow from Canada explains it better than I can…

Never intended to spend this much time on this….and yes concerning this kind of stuff I can get negative because I’ve been burned in cults….drank menstrual blood of leaders “cause they were so holy” I know about this kind of thinking…..and it’s really dark stuff……I’ll leave it at that….

Look the Gabbard’s are doing fine, I’m just a fly on the wall…….politics welcomes these types of folks with open arms…but when truly honest folks show up..you can bet your bottom dollar they’ll disappear…by by Ron Paul…by by Ralph Nader…by by Ross Perot…..and so many more……

Reblogged this on 2012 Spirit In Action and commented:
I would so LOVE to see our government as diverse as America;-) How would our laws be different if we had every religion represented in Congress? every economic standing, a balance of genders, sexual orientation, able and disabled, every ethnicity?
I doubt we would engage in war, or argue over whether to help the most disadvantaged. It is unlikely that unrestricted mining and corporate control would remain, but I am sure our economy and well being of our people would be higher than it has ever been.
AND, little kids from every community, ethnicity, religion etc would feel proud like they too could grow up to be President, Senator, Congressperson. No more lowered aspirations for our kids!;-)

NOT TRUE! NOT TRUE! NOT TRUE!….this is a lie and a deception…..and a ploy for election purposes only ….I know this family, and what they have done has always been suspect….
Here is my testimony under oath… :)) just kidding, but it’s the truth…..

I worked at Down to Earth Health Food Store in the 80’s when her father, Mike Gabbard, a local Samoan mix plate and her mother a white(Haouli, what we call white in Hawaii)women worked in the kitchen as food servers….let me say that again…..food servers…….

The whole family’s in a cult, devoted to a fellow who splintered off from the traditional Hari Krishna movement.
Their cult leader took a lot of devotees with him from the Hare Krishna group and Prabhupada the leader, as he had worked his way up to number 2 in the organization, which is how he operates….Chris Butler….alias Siddhaswarup….self titled.
He came back to Hawaii (was an unsuccessful surf pro in the 70’s) and started his own Krishna style group…and also is the silent (or not so silent…seeing I know) owner of Down to Earth where we started this story…with Tulsi’s father Mike the Samoan and Tulsi’s mother Carol the white lady in the kitchen…..

By the way….Mike now is a Senator and Carol also in government, I believe education….nobody is Hindu anywhere….

In fact I don’t think Siddha (Mike’s guru and by default Tulsi’s)has any Hindu followers …the Hindu’s have enough to choose from as far as spiritual guides….I would think…..not to mention he’s one strange creature…I know this because my best friend attended his beach spiritual gatherings as she was dated someone from the group and she also was an original disciple to Prabhupada…so she had lots to share on the subject that was first hand knowledge…..

What’s strange and interesting about this very odd story which certain people who live here know about is….this self appointed guru has always insisted and found ways to get his followers into government….always…it’s some kind of code in their group, possible for exemptions or other political favors, I don’t know……. I just know, when I was first around he already had people in the government here…

When the father, Mike Gabbard, started moving in that direction…he start politicizing and coming out strongly against homosexuality, even had a small radio show feeding rabbit hatred against the gays….it’s part of their Krishna style belief system……and gain political support that way….with the far Christian right here…..
I was working at Down to Earth still during that time, and saw employees get fired when it was discovered they were gay….there was even picketing in front of the store during that time, and because of the picketing….MIke disappeared from the store….both him and his wife suddenly weren’t working there anymore….but later on popped up pursuing government….for the cult….this is the truth…………..

This family has organized a very serious and strange campaign of entrance into government for their cult leader…..
When I was around there were a few men who were “henchmen” or sorts for Siddha, who was extremely paranoid and fearful of germs…( a real strange bird if you ask me)
Mike Gabbard(Tulsi’s dad) was one and Mike Henrietta was another…..the second one ran the Health food store…and years later committed suicide by jumping from a freeway bridge into on coming traffic…..that was my boss…..

These are the folks I’m talking about….. who are in government….

We need to take the rose colored glasses off, once and for all concerning government…..it’s stinks to high heaven and ends up being bullshit……

Not sure if Siddha's manic state is a natural one or perhaps a little heightened by some local delicacies, cough cough*batu*cough

Either way, he is sure on one here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgGMSYxPKko

In this one he sounds like possibly the dumbest man to ever speak to a large audience, throwing out numbers that kids create when trying to describe a large number.

Chris literally says "...some billions and millions and millions and millions of years ago."
Somebody enlighten this supposedly all knowing and ultimately enlightened conduit of Krishna that to just say 1 trillion is magnitudes greater than saying "millions" 3 or 4 times, with a billions thrown on for good measure.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWQOnzDy9Fk

I love hearing Chris Butler, or Big Bucks God Foot (Srila Prabhupada) struggle to bury his pigeon accent, it is almost as satisfying as he keeps pulling out his scrap book attempting to read a few paragraphs which makes his reading skills seem marginally better than those of the brilliant Bill Burr.
