I've heard nothing of this...but if it happened, clearly it was despicable behavior. The reason I speak fondly of John was he was one of the few in his position that seemed to give a damn when I was going through things that were clearly abusive. He reached out to help, rather than further isolate me. No, I've never viewed him as Ghandi...or idolized him as some did. I was just appreci

Excellent post, FA. The fact that long time members of the fellowship, who have known Miller and witnessed his years of sacrifice, struggle and passion supporting "the cause", demonstrates how deeply brainwashed the fellowship is by Gary and Marilyn. Didn't Miller actually bring Gary into 'the Body' back in the early 70's? If so, that makes Gary's action even m

BTW, I'm liking some of the recent usernames (Ditch Digging Yasper, Lamp Shmamp). I suspect it is just a matter of time before Jesus Camp and Camp Lamp weigh in.

I'm still dumbfounded by the amount of anger and judgement that was ministered from the pulpit throughout my years in TLWF, and the accompanying insistence from the ministry that the congregant have a "right spirit" while being beaten. I always felt the proper order should have been: 1. the ministry stops abusing (disguised as discipline/teaching) the congregant 2. the congreg

Every mentor I had in TLWF that I had a connection to, and a respect for, had the misfortune of possessing an empathetic streak. This quality inevitably isolated them from G & M.

It's near impossible for me to separate the act of screaming vs. the content of what the person happens to be screaming about. The connection, I suspect, will remain in my consciousness through this life. Participating in literally thousands of church services where it was a rarity that someone or something was not being judged, almost all the hysteria based on illusory thinking...has crea

Yes, thanks Lily Rose...in process of reading it now. Nichols: "the Kingdom Age has its own revelation, recorded in the words of its prophet, John Robert Stevens. His word is the living word and is taped and transcribed whenever he speaks. His word reveals the hidden secrets in both the Old and New Testaments and without his revelation one cannot really understand the Scripture at all.

Bob was estranged from the 'apostolic fathering ministries' prior to his passing--something he did not keep secret. I think it's highly doubtful he would want a 'love offering' taken in his memory go to the apostolic travel fund rather than to his family. But I suppose if I had been there I likely would have nodded in hypnotic agreement with most everyone else, thinking.

I tend to place more emphasis on a person's character than what his/her talents or gifts happen to be. One of my earliest experiences in the walk, after dropping out from college...and living day to day trying to survive financially...was my employment with a congregant who owned/operated a paint business. We painted the exterior of a house John in the vicinity of Redlands. After completin

I read a biography of Lyndon Johnson recently (The Path to Power). According to the author (Robert Caro), no one was more effective in persuading someone on one-to-one basis & getting them on board with an agenda he had in mind, than Lyndon. The whole process started with Lyndon deciding to believe something, motivated by self-interest. Whether it was true or not, was irrelevant. Eventually

The cult run by John, before the violent intercession to destroy the nephilim spirit channeled through his wife, was more tolerable to me than what followed...especially the tyranny of Gary and Marilyn's reign. Ahhh...the old days!

If you really think your spouse is the devil, is it scriptural to pray for his/her death...enlisting others into the cause? I haven't been involved in any other church movement, but I suspect this practice is unusual.

I saw Donna following that service. She was obviously distraught, but at the time I was not able to process how devastating this had to be to her. I had been trained in the no-sympathy mode for so long that I wasn't able, or perhaps willing, to make an empathetic connection. She was a good gal. Of course, I ended up being on the receiving end of similar treatment, so now I understand.
