I have said my piece on so-called personal Life Coaches before, they are mainly a waste of money and useless, and at worst very harmful. Its too broad. A coach is about specific skills, like golf. If a person has a problem, find a coach for that problem, like a golf coach, or a piano coach, etc. Life Coaches are a current fad to make easy money. Many of the contracts are tricky and lock peopl

Byron Katie's blog talks about using her work with veterans who have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: [Treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: Veterans & The Work] Notice that it says TREATING Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Someone who commented on the PTSD blog said (note: I've bolded a few parts): QuoteOne young man, Joe, probably an Iraqi War vet judging by his age,

From anticult: One could do an experiment, and contact 20 BK Facilitators and let it drop in the conversation that you have had Trauma, PTSD, or suicidal impulses. See how many of them stop the therapy. Probably zero would stop it, they would get right into it. That is how they are trained. from CC: Do you think that is how I have been trained? Or do you know that is how I have been tra

The levels of suicides, homicides, and self-harm from those with all of the various forms of PTSD is far beyond what most people have any clue about. Only highly trained licensed professionals, who set up careful systems with people should deal with that. That is why every single proper therapy always says anyone with PTSD should seek proper medical attention immediately. But Byron Katie tel

Anticult wrote this about PTSD: "Katie also says The Work can be used PTSD. Do people have any idea of how dangerous that is? Triggering PTSD trauma flashbacks in people?" Years ago, I met a veteran who had been a Recon Marine in Vietnam. Recons are Marines who have been further trained to function as commandos. This man had a veteran's love for his comrades and yet he

by the way, Byron Katie very very clearly disclaims all liability from her Facilitators. She will not support any Facilitator under any condition. Its all there right on the website. So you are 100% on your own out there. Now on top of everything else, Byron Katie is posting that The Work is some type of "therapy". So you can't say you are not doing therapy with people. It c

I'm just telling you what I saw as a result of showing up and doing jury duty on two civil suits. Too many people dont do their jury duty, BTW. They miss one of the greatest educational opportunities available. A suggestion for those who have to stay in town this summer and save gas money: go watch a trial, and sit through the whole thing including jury selection, and all the time

And Byron Katies own blog, which says it is posted by "Byron Katie", just made a post last week that The Work is...the best type of cognitive therapy...as claimed by David Wise PhD and posted by Byron Katie on her own blog. Following up what The Anticult has written, if you wanna help people as a BK facilitator you had better add a Fifth Question to BK's Four Questions: Here is the Fifth Question--which contains two sub questions: If I am sued as a result of being a Work facilitator, will The Work Foundation, and by extension BK, reciprocate my loyalty by supporting ME in my hour of need? Or to put it

by the way, the Stever Robbins connection to Byron Katie cannot be overstated. Anyone trained in NLP instantly sees what Byron Katie is doing on a metalevel to people, with language and images and stories. Some interesting points coming out from our new surprise guest CultCity. - doing The Work worksheets, does lead to the 9 Day programs, that is how it is set up. They suck people deeper and deeper into it. The self-blame created by The Work magnifies depression, that is very clear. Its a bottomless pit. The idea that The Work is free, is false. That has been shown in great detail. Just because

From "Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy" by David D. CC, there is something bothering me deeply here. You say that you wish to offer sessions of the work. Re this you specifically say, "If I saw that what I offered people as a facilitator created harm, I would reverse my opinion." Why on earth would you take the chance of doing sessions with people when there is a risk that they could be harmed? This seems unconscionable to me. Bryon

That is the same idea as Popper, in terms of any theory being Falsifiable, or Testable. Cognitive Therapy for example, has been put to hundreds of tests. Byron Katie has refused to put The Work to any proper scientific tests, or controlled studies. Meanwhile, she hires and recruits shills to make EXTREME claims about The Work, like saying it is a form of therapy, and that it ELIMINATES DEPRE

Of course Harpo-Oprah would never hire Tolle or Byron Katie, as they are not bondable, and could not sign all the non-disclosure contracts, etc. They have a concocted past history, and thus are not trustable.
