You don’t even need a scientific study to conclude that a calmer mind is more vulnerable to “suggestion”, especially when the mantra being chanted is from and may include the name of a guru. Not that meditation is without a merit — it does calm the mind; it is the “suggestion” that comes with it that is the red flag.

Stevie, Maum stands for Maumbo Jumbo. The reason sites like this exist is because of the many victims of cults. People have to live and think within reason; outside that is a free for all. How are we going to communicate with one another or function effectively in society when you speak of enlightenment, euphoria, boundless, etc., as if they are essential in life -- they are not. There are cheape

Gabbard idolizes Narendra Modi, who represents what is ugly and wrong with India. A look at her official web pages is enough to validate this fact. She called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he was on a visit to New York on September 28, 2014 and presented him with a ginger flower garland from Hawaii. She also gave Modi her own copy of the Hindu Holy Book "Bhagavad Gita"

PLEASE HELP TO FREE CHILD SLAVES IN INDIA. Did you know that there are millions of child slaves in India? These are mainly children whose poverty stricken parents have been forced by circumstances to sell them into bonded labour. This is nothing but a form of modern day slavery. These children come mainly from the Dalit caste. A human rights watch report has informed that there are between 60

Glad to see former posters coming back. Thank you very much. I know it’s difficult to relive the old days; it’s embarrassing sometimes. Decades-old wounds can remain fresh especially when abuses persist, and it doesn’t help when they double dip — bringing it to the congressional level. But we are not doing this for ourselves, but for all the innocent souls and loved ones that are still in there,

What is so insidious about the speech is how it tries to appeal to the naive and unsuspecting masses, ignoring political analysts, pundits and media heavyweights, thus shows how really vulnerable our political system is to idealogues and to subversive agenda -- through popular voting, anyone, including the naive and useful idiots can enter our political institutions and even the presidency of the

Rama, it is not very important what result comes up from your chosen life, rather, the more important is that you're living your life authentically. All the kinks they ridicule you for are a part and parcel of a journey. Life is not just a journey, but is also full of suffering. That's exactly what makes us human -- how we pick up ourselves from falls and derailments. Our scars are a ba

The problem with most addicts is that they don't think they need help. And if they do, they would think that outside is a scary world. They have invested so much within the four walls they are into, to let go is like to become a child again. So they would rather stick to status quo -- depend on the same drug dealer and other addicts they deal with all their lives, to get along to go along,

No one should choose between a cult and a family. You just made me cry. Thank you eigenerherr, you’re a very brave woman. It’s just about time, because unlike in the 70s, no one in his/her right mind nowadays will get attracted to this spiritual fantasy anymore. So they are trying so hard to adjust the brand. That's what the Science of Identity is very good at — creating an illusion. When you speak to a practitioner, you could tell how genuinely they feel they are so true. It's as is if, what you eat is what defines you as a human being. They will not tell you what life really is inside the cult, especially those born in it. That's what Bhakti Yoga Shack is all about — to put blinders o

As heartbreaking as it is, our children cease becoming our own as soon as they become adults. Do not deplete yourself, financially and most importantly, psychologically. The damage has been done. Just move on, continue loving her unconditionally and preserve whatever little communication i
