A question: as far as we know, did anybody ever die as a result of the practice of "overboarding", as in, when LRH was at sea in the sixties and seventies?

In the Going Clear documentary, young David Miscavige is described as "an auditing prodigy". What exactly does this mean? Does it mean that he was good at auditing others, being audited, both, or what? Does anybody know?

Hmmm...it looks as if the uploading did not work. I'll have to work on that later. I also remember that the Sea Org man with whom I was speaking asked me if I'd ever read Dianetics or any of their other books. I told him that yes, I have read parts of Dianetics and other stuff that CO$ has published. I then told him that I have also read OT3 in its entirety, and that I am obviousl

Last month I spent some time in Florida in order to spend some time with a couple of friends of mine who live there. While in Florida, one of my friends and I spent an afternoon in Clearwater, walking around and looking at all of the CO$-related stuff that's all over that town. When I approached the Flag building, it was about 12:30 in the afternoon and all of the Sea Org members were

I watched this segment on CNN when it first aired. I had no idea that Don Lemon going to do any reporting on CO$ and when I saw Hassan on-screen, I almost dropped my drink. Steve mostly talked about himself and the Moonies, and pushed himself and his BITE model pretty hard. Same old Steve. Very disappointing to me, it is. And he was so rude, in interrupting the others!

RR, Cathleen: even though I chafe at being told what to say and how to say it (residue of cult experiences), I concede your point and thank you for your professional advice, and for your time.

"Scientology received tax exempt status in 1993 through the use of numerous frivolous lawsuits and blackmail against government officials. Please tell the IRS to retract COS tax exempt status. They are estimated to have made billions of dollars since the illegal 1993 agreement. The money is used to harass former members, coerce abortions, to secure their Int. base so people can’t esca

"Allegedly, Scientology officials, including Church leader David Miscavige, paid private investigators to acquire some unspecified compromising information on Goldberg during his time as commissioner, and then strode into his office without an appointment one day to demand terms.[1][2] The meeting was not listed on Goldberg's appointment calendar, which was obtained by The New York

Besides, the book (of the same name) on which the film is based is also really good. It's even better IMO, because it's more detailed, and one gets to know the principals better (so to speak). The film is pretty much a documentary version

PS: anybody (other than second-gen,third-gen, or etc.) in this day and age of the Internet who would see that film, or read any critical info about CO$ at all, and would STILL sign on to be a part of $cientology, must have really serious problems in the first place (IMO). Even when I was a religious addict and a "cult-hopper", CO$ scared me. I just cannot understand how anybody (ag

Going Clear scared the hell out of me. That was the most gut-wrenching film I've seen since I watched Twelve Years a Slave. And in a way, it IS a film about slaves and slavery, Going Clear. The person of L. Ron Hubbard both fascinates and terrifies me. By all accounts, when he was alive he crazy as hell. Behind closed doors and in person, he'd babble incoherently, he was delusional

Say RR, I've got a question for you: if somebody were to contact you seeking an "expert" on the topic of the world of televangelists and televangelism, would you ever, under any circumstances, refer them to Ole Anthony and/or the Trinity Foundation?
