Jackie was wronged by Turning Point Church World Outreach Center and its leadership when they falsely accused her in front a many many people. Thankfully the new leader apologized to Jackie but did the leaders take the next step and offer restitution? At the very least the legal fees that were incurred by Jackie should be reimbursed. And why the continuing silence on the issue of being a

Hi Miki, The new pastor apologized for the wrongs done to Jackie in a public meeting in front of current and former members of TPC as well as pastors of other Marysville churches. She was exonerated of any wrong doing. This is a good thing in that Mike's persecution of Jackie is exposed for what it was -- a personal vendetta because Jackie had the audacity to stand up to him. @ LLG yes, you and several others involved in this mess have been essential in my recovery <3 along with prayer and some books I would highly recommend for those coming out of this group to be very helpful (you can even preview several pages on Amazon that will beyond a doubt help you see that it is pretty much word for word what happened in this group) in recovery are: Twisted Scriptures

Quotezeebrook... Whilst some disdain the idea of an authority in a local church, one has to face the facts that there are those who rule in a local church, those who take responsibility for it to which other members submit. "The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching." (1 Timothy 5:17). So an elder is

To the Forum: In Hebrews 13:17 What is significant about peitho (peithesthe) is that it is not peitharcheo "to obey one in authority" What is also significant about peitho (peithesthe) is that it is not in the active voice. Peitho is in the passive or middle voice(determined by context). If peitho were in the active voice then the writer would be commanding the readers to activel

These are not my experiences - they are our experiences. The Adventist church encourages members, at every turn, to accept Ellen G. White's plagiarized writings (including Steps to Christ, mentioned above) as divinely inspired, and further, to respect these writings as one would respect the holy Bible itself. The Adventist church is indeed concerned with members doubting the Spirit of

I read the article referred to by The Petitor above. I do have concerns that SMC leaders aren't always aware of the great responsibility which they have when caring for children, both those in church families and those from non-church families. The problem is, as has been said on this Forum already, SMC is accountable to no-one above them; in other words, they have autonomy and they make

My personal experience with Unity has been VERY positive. That does not exclude the possibility that someone may find a particular group that somehow operates as a "destructive cult". But I certainly cannot see how that could be directly connected with Unity itself. I would strongly recommend Unity approach to any person that likes/needs to follow a Christian path in his/her life.

Hello Concerned Mother As Chesterk55 has posted above, the leader of the Struthers group at The Refuge is Scottish, from Glasgow, and spent 15-20 years in the Struthers Glasgow church before apparently receiving a call from God to move south and lead a group of people in the London area who had been coming up to Struthers Camps and conferences in Scotland for many years. She set up her group in

I was raised by a parent who considered RBT the perfect role model for parenting skills and the vision of an ideal man. As a result, physical affection, sentimentality and verbal expressions of affection were absent from my childhood. As a teenager I balked. 'Today, the situation is quite different. Fewer people go to a church (especially if we include Europe). Secular life is the norm and not the exception, as in earlier generations. To better grasp the difference, I would suggest that the so-called "New Age" movement demonstrates the changes better than most. New Age churches (such as Unity) retain most of the Christian underpinnings
