The audio recordings from this person are very revealing. www.ancientknowledge.org This man is not 70 years old. He is clearly in his middle adult years. He is also obviously using a piece of audio software to alter his voice, to slow down the speed, and lower the pitch a little. (he probably finds it very amusing, as it sounds a little like John Wayne). He is clearly doing this to d

hey, a new thread about this is started here. Please cross-post your posts there if you want. As the TITLE of a thread makes it more descriptive to searches and search engines, so its best to get the title of the thread set at the start. It also best to put all research about a new sect into one thread, to keep the information together. So please use the other thread, as once it hits t

If a leader is broadcasting these kind of weird Stories, while people "meditate" and visualize, then of course it is a form of hypnosis. Hypnosis is just focused internal attention. Its not the hypnosis that is the problem, but the verbal and visual messages in the hypnosis sessions, and the Suggestions that are being implanted with repetition. Will look into this more. But read

Sadly what is happening here, happens every week. Vulnerable people get whipped into a manic-trance state, and spend tens of thousands on Tony Robbins seminars. Some get cleaned out of hundreds of thousands of dollars for other schemes they have running. If a person has a past with mania, they can easily be flipped into mania. And everyone knows where that ends, with a total breakdown. D

Very true, about how people's beliefs about Ching Hai might change. In cognitive science, belief change is achieved by many new pieces of evidence/experience, accumulated over time. Then repeated. The same way normal life experience shapes our beliefs. But Ching Hai knows this better than anyone. That is why she has locked peoples beliefs down, using powerful emotions, and powerful im

Inducing BOREDOM is a technique in hypnosis, like inducing confusion. Many of them have talked how in conventional church through repetition of material, people go into a Trance. Same with many rituals. So boring the shit out of you, is a way to put you into a suggestible state of "hypnosis" which just means you are more open to accept their Suggestions. Then they give suggestions to

A very common cultic technique, is INDUCING CONFUSION. It works like magic. They put out confusing, and nonsensical "content" and their people try to make connections out of it. It lures people in. They create a fog of confusion, then the the leader leads the confused masses where he wants. Its standard stuff. That is why as soon as they start blowing smoke, and creating a fog o

Its the same thing being sold by Eckhart Tolle and about a million other Swamis, literally. By the way, was being sarcastic about ACIM. Most people only read a few pages, and then just trance out, and don't bother with it. Its highly unreadable. But can be used by various groups for that reason. Can't say that its "brainwashing" though, in the technical sense. But it is certainly used in thought reform, and new age manipulation systems as "content".

No, if you read the ACIM and start to believe it, you will get more and more passive, and spaced-out. Most people can't read the dang thing, it just puts you in a trance from page one, and its a huge book, designed to look like a bible in some publications. Of course, the Miracles stuff is somewhat concealed, they do a lot of dancing around it. But its better to just cut to the chase.
