Perhaps something from Trader Joe's will help to smooth things over.

Thank you, kBOY. I'm all about relationships to me, but now I am much more cautious who I give my heart to.

The reason that I compare the members of the Walk to Nazis is that Nazis had the same belief in their superiority to others that were not of their party. The Walk members believed that they and only they were the chosen ones, they believed that those that followed John Stevens were going to become immortal and rule the world. Anyone that questioned Hitler were imediatley and permanently shut out, to hell with them, they are nothing to the superior ones if they even questioned. Same with the members of Living Word Fellowship.

I you were to ask any Nazi at the time what Hitler was like, and they would tell you what a benevolent loving father he is. What about John Stevens, was he such a loving benevolent spiritual father? What happened to people that crossed him? What happened to people that crossed Marilyn, or Gary. What happened to people that did not spend their every waking moment contributing to the upper flow? Who in the hell thinks that a church is there to serve their leaders? Where did that come from?

I remember a phase the Walk went through, or at least among the ones that I knew, where they thought that it was being soulish, or not spiritual if they showed any compassion, pity, remorse, or any other emotion. That was a trip there. I don't know if that is something that went on all over the thing, but it sure did happen around me. Or, it could have been that they were all just naturally psychopaths, I don't know.

I am completely unaware of any phase like that. I would be completely unable to be that way.

Even though Christianity has made it all about the man, Jesus made it all about the MESSAGE, and walking it out as an example. Be it Hitler and the Third Reich, or JRS and TLW, making it about a man has always caused many (including an entire nation) to cast reason aside and participate in ways not otherwise imagined. Most who participated in TLW need not look too hard to find paradigms we formerly entertained, being blinded by an allegiance to something we thought was true, that today we would never consider.

Jesus never drew the focus to himself, but always directed his efforts to pointing out all that stood in the way of walking out LOVE on an individual basis, something that threatened the status quo of an exhausted religious structure that was anything but. Any errors of our earlier ways can be attributed to a sleight-of-hand that replaced the TRUE MESSAGE with a man, along with all the attendant consequences.

The MESSAGE has always been:

ABOUT

Its
all about
LOVE

and
only about
LOVE

It also would have been nice if the DR's had some level of competence in areas they chose to assume control over. Too often vulnerable members of the fellowship found themselves submitting to people that were barely functional.
That said, I still feel very strongly that I should be Denzel Washington's DR--with the goal of making him a better actor. Hopefully I will have time to talk to him about this life-changing relationship while others are caroling.
