And that is a testament to the powers of his hypnotic mass persuasion. Its all about controlling peoples perceptions.
When you can turn Lurch into Elvis, that is quite an achievement.
If you could see the Awe and Wonder in the eyes of the women at his live events. They watch his every move, they blush when he gets sexually crude, they scream like schoolgirls if he walks into the audience near them, they freak out if he "squirts them with a big water gun". (he actually does that, think of the symbolism).
They seriously worship the "Big Guy". They would do anything to "be near him".
But tough business guys like him too.
He wants to be like Elvis, loved by the ladies, and guys think he's cool too.

Here are some excerpts of the Robbins created manic mindset of a young 16 yr old kid who has recently attended a Robbins seminar.
Notice some of the key thoughts in his post.
He could be hooked into Robbins for 10 years or more.
It never ends.
Its just a big machine for harvesting minds-money.

I was at a new casino complex in Vegas recently, and the design of the place, really reminded me of what Robbins, and others try to do to you.
They have these Grandiose ceilings, and open a lush designs, all created to make you feel "excited", and like you are a "big shot out for a great night on the town".
But I think what is the most insidious and powerful, is that they have literally created a "separate universe" for the clients.
When you are in this massive casino, you never have to leave. Its open 24/7, so you lose track of the time of day.
The noise is SO LOUD, it disorients you.
You can order a steak at 4am.
You can order ANYTHING you want at any time.
The entire thing is designed with scientific precision, to push you toward a GRANDIOSE MANIC STATE.
What they are trying to do, with all of these dozens of mechanisms, is to get you EXCITED.
Then, if you can get a small BIG WIN, then you can become hooked liked an addict.
A big casino is literally a MANIC EPISODE. The doors never close, its all you can eat, drink, spend. All the sex you can buy. There are "no limits" in certain areas.
Its all about EMOTION.
Its all about trying to give people a HIGH.
Its trying to make you lose contact with your humdrum life.
They are trying to get you into a manic state.
Because once they do it, that is when folks start dropping serious money.
Its EXACTLY like what Robbins does to people. Whip them into a frenzy, and then shake them down for 10 grand, or more.
They are literally aiming for the same thing.
Get people into that manic state, where their impulses take over, and they drop serious cash, looking for that HIGH, that BIG WIN.
After all, if you get that BIG WIN in the casino, then you are on Easy Street, right? You are a WINNER. You are a big shot.
Same with Robbins.
Go to Mastery University, or join the Platinum Partnership, or whatever, and you are a WINNER. A Big Shot.
But to get you to drop that money, real or on credit, they have to put you into a manic state FIRST.
That's why they build the massive casino complex for many hundreds of millions of dollars.
That's why Robbins, and an LGAT needs to manipulate you so carefully in a hotel ballroom in some far-off city.
Its all about the HIGH, like a drug addict.
Casinos, Robbins, cocaine, they are all about trying to get the same thing.
That HIGH.
That Flow.
Being "on a roll".
(and frankly, that's what the "Enlightenment salesmen" are selling too.)

You hit the nail on the head with this one, Coz.
That's exactly right....and the casinos have been doing this for decades so they have mastered the art of human manipulation/exploitation right down to the carpet, which is specially woven using colors and zig-zag patterns to disorient you and make you wander around directionless for awhile as the other tricks get to work on your psyche and soften you up for the game. And here's the beauty of it: Everybody loves Las Vegas and nobody "blames" Las Vegas when they have to go home on a bus with nothing left in their pocket! Reminds me of Werner Erhard and L Ron Hubbard laughing themselves silly because, as they bragged, their constituents were "trained" to believe everything good that happened to them was on account of the cult and everything bad that happened to them was entirely, 100% their own fault.
Here's the paradox of Las Vegas, by the way: There is absolutely no gambling going on.* The casinos know, to the smallest fraction of a percentile, exactly how much money THEY are going to make. It's the illusion of gambling that they offer. Everybody knows this - the casinos are required by law to publically post the odds on each and every "game" that they offer, but this hasn't deterred people. In fact, the games are calibrated to pay out just enough, to the last nickel, to keep people playing, keep people coming back, and keep people hooked. They don't care that most people are immune to this stuff. They, like the liquor industry that thrives on the 10% of the population who are heavy drinkers, do very well with the small percantage they attract. Same as Landmark, as a matter of fact, with its 10% of the deeply hypnotizable/suggestible. People think that, because the tricks don't work on most, this isn't "mind control," which disproves that Landmark is a cult. It's like some sort of cultural or intellectual blind-spot. They only want that 10%. They can do just fine, thank-you.
The casino operators have been so successful with this stuff that lots of other retailers and businesses have copied them. It can become quite disheartening sometimes. One supermarket in my area wafts the smell of baking bread into customers nostrils at the entrance to the store. Unfortunately, the drug store that is situated on the other side is doing the same thing with some kind of men's cologne, so the effect is kind of nauseating. Everybody knows about the old tricks; orange striped bags for carrots, a bit of parsley in the hamburger to make the meat look redder, "impulse buys" loaded up at the cash register," now we have "theatrical lighting" for the fruits and vegetables, specially directed messages that you trigger when you start to look at laundry soap, for instance, and the same "grandiose" interior with "decor" to put you in the mood. Really, supermarkets have gotten into the same game - they have gone from utilitarian to palaces in Spain, here in my area, (West Coast, US) And why not? It works so well, the ones that are doing it here are able to charge twice as much for the same groceries. I wouldn't have believed people were so clueless till I saw it with my own eyes. Twice as much for MILK!

For those who are interested, here is Robbins audio "holiday message". It sounds like a "normal" holiday message, and its quite short, but i counted about 25 influence techniques he uses in this very short speech.
If anyone wants to play a fun, "spot the Thought Reform technique" game, if you listen to the audio, write down some of the techniques you hear him using. I would be very interested in what other might have to say about it.

"invitation" - so you think it's "your choice"
sotto voce denial of proselytizing
"feel good," "pump-you-up" type stuff to associate
himself and his organisation with good feelings.
"trigger" - he suggests doing this to people
appeal to altruism, like the "Hunger Project"
repeated DO, DO, DO
admits to "selling hope" (hope-in-a-jar-type stuff)
Cliche - "It's 'not me,' it's 'we'"
slipped in "Robbins Research" several times - gotta keep your name
in people's minds.
(I wonder if the use of the word "Research" is comparable to
Mary Baker Eddy's use of the word "Science," or ElRons' use
of the word "technology." - Seems like it.)

of guilty feelings for all your good fortune in the face of so much
misery by doing token charitable works in his name; like giving

I tried, but I couldn't listen to the whole thing.... Lurch really gets on my nerves. But I'm amazed at how he twists the holiday spirit and the spirit of giving into an opportunity to sign more people up for Robbins seminars and buy more Robbins books and tapes. He even talks about other people in the world who "are just trying to survive." His solution? Give someone you know a Robbins book or tape. How does that help the people elsewhere in the world just trying to survive? Incredible. So much like the Hunger Project, which feeds nothing but fat cat's egos and pocketbooks.

I have mentioned that Robbins uses wacky FOOD ideas as a psychological tool and weapon on people, as PART of his persuasion process.

NOw I have another dilema regarding my family that I could use some advise on..............
But, the lack of sugar & bad carbs in my body mad a true believer out of me! That freaked my family out... NOw, I have not had meat, eggs,milk or sugar and minimal cheese (back to my original problem) since UPW, I love the way I feel. I am struggling with a few things but the meat & chicken I have no problem with at all..
Now, Here is the problem......MY husband and kids are having a hard time with all this..
My hubby seems a little taken back but my new way of thinking...He says:
"HOw can you change everything you have belived in for so many years after one weekend"
He almost seemed mad.. I don't preach to much because it's all new to them and myself but, I feel they all think I have gotten a little strange since UPW and I don't like the way they look at me when I mix my green drink or eat a plate of veggies & pass on the meat I actually cooked for them...
I will not change and I realize it's very different than the way I have been thinking my entire life but I'm not the same since UPW and I think they think thats also strange....

Look at this weasel email from the the Robbins company.
First, they just took the emails from the list they have on their messageboard, and she sent the emails in the To: field, which then exposes everyones email to about 100 STRANGERS. (violation of privacy). Send HER some holiday cheer, if you like!
Next, they claim that everyone is MODERATOR on the Robbins message board! (as if!!! They are a bunch of sloppy, manic crazies over there)
Then she writes all of this horseshit about how she "reads what you write" on the message boards! (I don't think she would like what has been written on those boards in the past!)
That company is just full of these half-cocked, manic, lying, manipulating weasels. Really, the "false intimacy" makes me sick to my stomach. A real bunch of ...well...weasels!
The RobbinSpeak is just sickening.
Who wants Lyn's "love and respect"?
These people are such manipulators. Doesn't that type of "false corporate intimacy" make you want to lose your lunch?
