I knew a long time ago that there was something seriously wrong with Mike Villamor and his world and it came pretty much the first time i sat down and talked to him.It was way back when he was still personally doing marriage counseling for the members in the basement of the church. He stated to me face to face that his heart was so clean and pure that he could slit his wrists and bleed out in front of me knowing full well that he would be accepted into the kingdom of heaven!Wow!Years and years later this was spun by Jeff Barnes to me as an attempt to use the strongest example possible to show me what was available to me through following Mike.Another ear jerker was when Mike told me that through the workings of the church and God on his heart that he was cured of an at-times $3000 a month pornography addiction that had put his marriage on the brink of destruction.Certainly that wasn't congregation money he was spending,or was it?Me and my wife attempted counseling with the Barnes' but that pretty much ended when he asked me to keep a journal of all my thoughts and such from one visit to the next and we would go over it during the next visit. It was obvious to me that something was wrong when i first sat down.He looked pissed at the world and came down on me like a ton of authoritarian bricks in front of my wife and his when i said i had forgotten to.

I spent years wanting to know how all the people that go there could be so blind as to what the main focus of their sermons are $$$.They come at it from 50 different ways but it always comes back to the same thing!I once told my wife that it would be really easy to find out whether their friendship and fellowship were real by not going there and seeing if they still cared or called! She never attempted the test.I know for a fact what the policy is.It is a policy of if someone leaves they no longer exist.Jackie and Sid Singer were neighbors of ours and in an attempt to work on and try to get some help with our marriage I asked her if we could do some kind of 3rd person meating. She asked who i had in mind and i said Jackie and she immediately got offended and stated with hostility "absolutely not Jackie doesn't even go to Turning Point anymore".There is the answer to the question i had as to how people who have left are viewed.Your only value as a human being is directly propotionate to how much of your time, money and effort you give to their church. And if you choose not to they have no use for you.

Ostracizedone,

Yes, welcome to forum. I am sorry that you were not shown more patience and grace by those you went to for help. Perhaps the Christian counseling place in Stanwood might be of assistance to you. Although the Lord is the ultimate counselor and he really does not mind when you call him at 1:00AM to vent or to talk about your problems. :-)

Jensens are still @ TP. I believe that Jon is leading the counceling ministry. Actually, I think he teaches the pastoral counceling class in SOMA. Can anyone confirm that?

Jon is listed on the PNWBC (formerly SOMA NW) web site as a faculty member teaching Pastoral Counseling. Wasn't he a soma student not to long ago?

If I am wrong about any material fact I have spoken about or posted about -- I beg forgiveness. However, the attempt to discredit Chris and Cathy was real. So the question I have for Adrift is -- If you were there and know so much, have you gone by the TPC offices to set the record straight?

Daughter of Dorcas, I'm sorry I was not clear. When I say "That's just silly," I'm talking about Cyndi saying she was afraid, not about your report. I have no reason to doubt what you are saying. In fact, it's very consistent. I was not there, but I do know Caleb was, and he wouldn't stand for any folderall. I also know Cathy and Chris, and they are not ones to be afraid of unless they are praying against you, and they don't pray against people. The thing about fearing prayer was a joke, if a bad one.

My apologies to everyone on the forum if I gave the impression I was defending Cyndi and attacking Daugher of Dorcas.

If I thought going to TPC and telling the truth would be heard by anyone I would be there now. They know the truth. Cyndi knows Chris and Cathy as well as anyone. She knows as well as we do that they are not to be feared.

I should have put it another way. Cathy and Chris pray for the whole truth to be revealed. Fear them if you fear having the truth come to light.

So this week I had a conversation with someone and we began to talk about the "body" of Christ. In our discussion we talked about the bride and what she looks like, how will she become without spot or wrinkle like the bible speaks of? One thought given was persecution, that's how she will become more ready. But don't we really persecute eachother really with our judgements within our own ranks? I know I have been guilty of this. I am fascinated by the church really, I visualize a river being ( God) and then I visualize all these little branches off the river being the church still but each having it's own truth and believing it's branch off is correct. I wonder how the branches will ever find their way back to the main river sometimes, am I alone in this, I don't think so. It seems the church at times uses the bible as a weapon vs. to love at all costs, this is a risky thought. It seems to do so we would actually have to break down our own perceptions maybe admit fault, to be humble, to serve one another in one body, one spirit.
I love the lyrics to Casting Crowns stained glass masquerade; Are we happy plastic people/ under shiny plastic steeples/ with walls around our weakness/ and smiles to hide our pain/ but if the invitation open to every heart that has been broken/ maybe then we close the curtain on our stained glass masquerade.
I ponder the thought if the church, you and me could actually work on our stuff, admit our weakness, truly love un abbondoned, admit that we are three parts, spirit, body and soul. If we took responsibility for our own walk like Jesus walked vs. trying to find fault in everyone else s' , how powerful could that be? To really work on our stuff rather than trying to cover it over with a nice scripture that suites our own personal motivation. Just wondering.... Still awaiting the church to make right the wrongs to faithful servants.. never too late.
