'The theology of immortalism could be embraced by a single quote, brought into light after two thousand years of waiting, "I come not to destroy, but to fulfill." Immortalism as a religion could be seen as the fulfilment of all the major religions of the past.'

George as the new messiah?

'The Extropians refer to this time, I believe, as "The Omega Point". How curious that the founder of Christianity said, "I am the Alpha and the Omega."'

Well, not really that curious, George. The reason the Extropians, whoever they are, use the 'Omega' signifier is because of the resonance it carries from both the Jesus quote and the fact that Alpha and Omega are
the beginning and end of the greek alphabet, common western cultural memes to encompass the sense of entirety.

Sort of similar to the way you are hoping to piggyback on the common cultural memes of Christianity to build your new religion of 'looking after Number One' and 'winning through intimidation' by turning those materialistic sentiments into sacred tenets.
Its already been done George, you're a bit late to this party. Take a look at our secular capitalist world.

'Those of us who take the liquid nitrogen plunge will return and we will be different. I feel that this is the essence of religion. '

Now here I am in total agreement with George.
Religion as George views it, unthinking, with no questioning of facts, but acceptance of dogma (mostly that the earth is about to undergo some enormous apocalyptic crisis killing some/most of the people), must be like a plunge into liquid nitrogen for a living, thinking brain firing on all cylinders--instant freeze-drying.

Luckily though, it is up to the owner of the brain not the religion, which is a later add-on programme, to decide whether or not to completely wipe out the critical, questioning thinking faculties. The two can co-exist, religion and a thinking view---- not easily, granted but the choice is ours to make, not for George to dictate.

There was a link on Cold Filter a while ago to the CI emails site.

The whole thread has been taken off now, probably by the moderator.

No further comment required really.

The nitrogen plunge--

If anyone remembers having seen the film, Empire Strikes Back there's a scene in which Jobba the Hutt commands his minions to flash freeze Han Solo.

And when Solo is retrieved, he is frozen in the act of screaming. Later of course, he is revived, neatly skipping over the real world problems of all the impediments to cryonics.

Including writings by Sebastion Sethe regarding tjhe cost involved and legal Issues. - [www.cryonics.uk.com]

A far cry from their current website - which make no mention these costs.

Heres the old Cryonics Europe Network pAges: [www.quantium.plus.com]

And this is really strange: [www.cryonicscalculator.com]

Hey Luke Parrish on the cryonics Cold Filter forum.
Try stopping the deliberate distortion lying. Give it a try for a change.

The only people saying anyone is a "child killer" are those on Cold Filter, using DISTORTION as a tactic to defect from the facts.
Mark Plus said nothing about children recovering from cold temperatures. What does that have to do with anything?
And besides, where is your scientific evidence that "children" could recover from liquid nitrogen, better than an adult?
More total utter fiction from the cryonics religion. Its complete nonsense.

Mark Plus said back in Jan 2009, that a healthy 10 year old child is the perfect cryonics patient.
What is that? That is a "thought experiment" of the pre-meditated murder of a child, for a cryonics experiment. Why would he say that about a child? He's the one who said it.

If it was said about a willing ADULT doing that, it would be classed as a suicide, or assisted suicide.
If that was done to a child, under any circumstances, then its pre-meditated murder.
Why say it?

Then later trying to spin the facts, using obvious distortion, just makes the cryonics people look even more ridiculous.
When someone is trying to run away from inconvenient facts, they just trying to target the messengers, to defect away.
In fact, this thread, and a few others, are some of the ONLY places where real critical thinking is happening about the entire cryonics system, including the sales techniques, and other scamolas, not just the cryonics anti-science.

Here is what Mark Plus, he said it.

Mark Plus "thought experiment"? About the murder of a child? [forum.culteducation.com]

The strange thing about the cryonics salesmen, is that the initial analysis of cryonics showed cryonics to be in very bad shape.

Then it just got worse...the more that is revealed, the worse it gets.
Then it moves from being deceptive, into extremely creepy and bizarre.

How much worse can cryonics get? From all the signs out there, it sounds like it could even get far worse.

One really has to wonder what the few non-involved cryonics customers have been doing that last 10 years? Don't they ask any questions, and demand proof of what the cryonics companies are doing?
