Just wanted to write a quick note to Anti Chris. I was raised in a different communal group, and just wanted to hope that things are starting to get better for you.
Re therapists; don't go to one who doesn't understand; I found the most useful ones were older therapists who had dealt with things like PTSD or cults /NRMs a lot.Therapists who have dealt with drug addict families or military Ptsd are often pretty unshockable. Others who are new or inexperienced often just don't get it ( or are scared silly by it, and can't deal with it themselves.)
It is hard having to rewrite your whole belief system, figure out what you believe and what you don't. Other things that were helpful; talking to adults who had been raised as kids in other groups. I found that the experiences were often broadly similar and they Understood (Finally!) the often contradictory emotions. I am sorry you have not been able to connect with your in group family.
There is a thread here for born and raised in a group kids; its an old one but you might find it useful or be able to relate to some of the comments.
Hope all goes well for you.

This is an interesting find that just popped up on Facebook.
Looks like they are developing a homeschooling project out of the Sacramento Butler franchise.

Our new online school program is open to all who are pursuing the real goal of life and wanting to know their real identity. This online learning center is available for the parents in the community who are seeking for a learning environment that is God friendly, where their child learn the basic academics needs and at the same time understand the Sadhana Bhakti philosophy.

At least the brainwashing stays in the home with parents where it belongs...=)

But what will happen to the 11-18 year olds???

thank you for your genuine concern yasmin.

I am in the process of finding the right therapists, so far the ones I have seen cannot relate to the situation of being in such group like this one. I have friends that served in the army. i can ask them who they can refer me to, a PTSD specialist sounds like a good idea.

after being raised by a certain belief system and finding out that it was not a legitimate path to any sort of higher consciousness is probably one of the hardest things to come to terms with.
the other one is not having seen my parents in years. i do hope someday that they will be able to see what has happened to them but i'm not keeping my hopes up.

I will take a look at that thread about the kids born and raised in a group that is similar, i havent come across it yet.
thank you again

A public service announcement:

If any of you are doing journalistic work:

In many places, police are reporting an uptick in the number of snatch and grab robberies of handhelds and mobile phones.

Laptops on tables and near windows at cafes can be grabbed. Its always better to take it into the toilet with you.

Also, get advice about security when using your laptop and or mobile device. If using WiFi or Ethernet, or whatever thats called, your work might become insecure unless some kind of protection is installed.

Alapuhsihs said “If the voters of Hawaii elected Tulsi Gabbard without knowing she is a hindu, that is a great injustice and deception that should be reckoned with….”

My recollection is that Tulsi Gabbard never mentioned her religion until after her runaway defeat of Mufi Hanneman in the democratic primary election this past July 2012. Since her Republican opponent in the Congressional race was a homeless man, her victory in November was assured. She began to leak information about being a “Hindu” to media in India in order to create a back story in case she was “outed” prior the election. No main-stream media carried her “Hindu” revelation until after her election, so yes the voters of Hawaii were intentionally deceived. I firmly believe that without this Rick Ross Forum, Tulsi Gabbard would never have revealed anything having the potential to link her to the megalomaniac, Chris Butler.

ABSOLUTELY! What was interesting and surprising to me is that Kawika Crowley knew nothing about Tulsi's connection to Chris Butler! This was revealed in Henry's interview. Perhaps Mufi did not know either?

Here's the thing...NO ONE is out to hurt or destroy Tulsi. Personally, all I want is the truth. After that, let the people decide for themselves. But it is ethically wrong to deceive the public. No one really cares what religion a person professes, just be honest about it. If you are running for public office it is our business if you lie or deceive!

This all reminds me of when Clinton said he did not have "sex with that woman." or "...not to my recollection." LOL! Just observe a politician lying! "I did not have sex with that woman as defined..."

And how Clinton arrogantly twists the truth with his famous statement about it depends on what "is" is: "IS" IS and for a longer version in context of the questioning: " iS IS" BULLS#*T SPIN TESTIMONY

I can just see Tulsi's spin machine coming out with similar statements, "I have no recollection of growing up in a cult..." "Cult? ...Is it a cult? ... It depends on what "is" is..."

Tulsi is beginning her career on a lie. What is sad is that it is a lie she was born into and inherited and has been programmed to perpetuate. But she is an adult now and in a position to come clean and have a long and happy career doing good for the State of Hawaii. If Butler had any care for his followers he would allow her to tell the truth about her life in the cult! But he has the Gabbard's trapped into perpetuating the ruse. Why? If there is nothing to hide, there is nothing to fear about just saying, "Hey, I grew up in this fringe Hare Krishna group. I don't agree with everything, but here are my values based on what I grew up with...."

But even Presidents lie, so I am not holding my breath waiting for Tulsi to come out of the closet.

Clinton [the lawyer] was forced to tell the truth and apologize to the nation. He still excuses and tries to justify the lies (which made my stomach turn)....
Look for the same from Tulsi...
CLINTON APOLOGIZES TO THE NATION FOR LYING

Something interesting happen when you make a search for scientology in congress ...or cults in congress

5 congress man where part of a letter of recommendation to the French goverment to try to NOT TO BAN SCIENTOLOGY in France ....IT DID NOT WORK

I have read at least 8 hours of the moonies influence on congress ...there a few great videos on YOUTUBES...on the MOONIES (the religion even sent 300 pretty MOONIES to seduce as many congressman as they could......And Moon paid the BUSH famaly about 10 million dollrs in speaking fee for MOONIES events in Argentina ..Uruguay
Moon sank 3 billion dollrs to maintain the Washington times......finance Oliver North and the contra ...and even Pinochet death squads
The hypocrisy is very deep ........and many congress women and men .....not only Tulsi are ...not telling who they have aliegance to (16 representatives showd up at the corronations of MOON ...in the senate BUILDUINDS ...to crown him "KING OF PEACE >>>CROWN and all....With representative MR DAVIS on his knee presenting the crown...to ex con MOON.
ITS POLITICS ...ITS LIES and DECEITS
If it was not of our efforts TULSI would not have bother to say she was HINDU...
But who is HINDU
In 2010 I was trown out of many HINDU twemples in INDIA ....including the famous Jaganault temple....because I was white ....in the majority of important INDIAN temples you have to be born ....dark and HINDU ...with name like Sharma or PATEL ...or you do not get in ..
another hypocrisy ...TULSI will not get in Indian temples ...they will not consider her Hindu .
I do not agree with VERA ..on the Bible issues
Just look at the movie LINCOLN .....THE BAGAVAD GITA is a STUNT to put the HINDU in her and BUTLER pocket....but it might backfire.

Dont forget that Mike Gabbard aka Krishnakatha Das was given an award by "Father" Moon at one time as well. Link

Of course reading that page again still gives me the chills when I see the section that says:
Quote

University of Hawaii religion professor Cromwell Crawford offered thoughtful remarks to the local press.

"He's not singular in that perspective, every religious leader has a messianic consciousness. No single leader has done more for ecumenism than Reverend Moon."

"I am consistently stuck by his message. He appeals to the type of mentality that believes it is under siege."

He said attacks from organized religion that marked the nondenominational movement in the 1960s and 70s fit a historic pattern.

"We were all on the fringe once. Every religion has been a 'moonie,' even Christianity was 'moonie' in its time. Every great religious leader was persecuted. We become monopolistic."

Among other interests, Father Moon established the Washington Times and, last year, purchased United Press International news service.

Buying UPI gave the Moonies a permanent seat on AIR FORCE 1 ..........cults in all the hight places

Cultic Mike would have accepted anything from anyone that as the same hatred for gays as him and his BUTT guru .

Gary Okino Prayer Sermon - Honolulu City Council, September 16, 2011

Our “first” Hindu congressperson, Tulsi Gabbard, (who refuses to take her oath of office using the Bible) is seen here bowed in devotion with her hands clasped during a very Christian prayer ceremony at the Honolulu City Counsel one year ago. This video is well worth watching, and former councilman Gary Okino does a great job describing leadership qualities which are the antitheses of Chris Butler. At minute mark 6:50, the camera scans the council members and Tulsi can be seen in normal posture and listening to the sermon. At minute mark 8:50, the camera again scans the members and Tulsi is now seen praying (none of the other council members prayed so vividly).

Some citizens were outraged by such an obviously Christian sermon, but not Tulsi who seems to have embraced this opportunity to demonstrate her devout Christianity. One year later, and Tulsi is now a devout Hindu who says she converted to Hinduism when a teenager.
Every member of Congress should be informed of Tulsi Gabbard’s duplicity and pandering while she continues to hide her involvement in a destructive cult led by Chris Butler. Every practicing Christian and Hindu should be outraged by her dishonesty.

Here is another copy of the video in case the Youtube version gets deleted.

State Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Tamayo, right, takes the oath of enlistment into the Hawai'i Army National Guard. She was sworn in by Col. Lon Paresa, left, as her parents, Mike and Carol Gabbard, looked on in the state House chambers. I’m wondering if there is a Bible somewhere out of view.
