Set Free "Ministries"..okay first off they are not a real ministry as I see it...As a child I experienced my family member(s) get snatched away and taken to the "ranch" or whatever..when a young child can see that something is not right we got problems.....kay so they went on to San Diego and continued to "spread the word" and make drug addicts into "soldiers" whatever....I'm of Christian faith and it sickens me to my inner bones when it comes to cults like this..and the typical hypocrite "Christians" reason why I feel its not necessary to always go to church..that's just me....but back to this..okay so where do I or my family need to go for legal action against them as we all know this "ministry" is just a way of tax evasion I'm 25 and not stupid. It's all a Fraud and they are using the lords name in vain to commit these acts and who knows what else....okay so yeah in san diego they are activtley helping the community with their food bank etc. but at what cost is it when u go into a "home"?...ALL that is...there are rumors that spread back to the beginning(like example when my family member was locked in a room and brought out as "he" saw fit) that I have two more family members will say are not rumors and are factual it's just a little too twisted....he needs to go down Im sorry he's livin lavish now got about 500,000 in motorcycles alone..4 private homes for his family and It's a mess....I dont even think John Cabrerra wants anything to do with it for the most part anymore...I dunno it's hard to tell who's genuine these days. :roll:

Perhaps you should also read Galatians. In this portion of the New Testament Paul is critical of some church leaders and condemns them to hell.

Also read Acts, in which Paul and Peter disagree. Paul is critical of an apostle.

See finally Revelations where Jesus warns that false prophets and teachers will come in his name.

Try to use some balance in your reading of scripture.

Phil Aguilar is certainly just as accountable for his behavior as church leaders criticized in the bible.

The New Testament also offers qualifications for a deacon, elder or evangelist, and provides for their removal.

Aguilar has little if any meaningful accountability, either through idependently elected boards that he answers to, or independently audited financial reports that detail the salaries and expenses paid out from "Set Free."

The bible doesn't call for blind obedience to leaders, allowing leaders to do anything in the name of God, or no accountability for leadership.

Paul blessed the Buriens for searching the scriptures to prove all things and valued critical thinking.

Again you are attempting to isolate one scripture without addressing others that specifically to relatae to the issue of accountability and leadership.

Jesus and the authors of the New Testament never said that leaders had no accountability whatsover to other believers, civil authorities, the community etc. and that they could never be criticized.

Perhaps you should study the bible a little more in-depth and/or discuss this with an ordained minister or seminarian outside of "Set Free" in your area.

Try an Assemblies of God church or seminary like Fuller in California.

They can explain this to you.

So here I am wondering why half of Chiefs flock is missing. Then a friend leads me to this site. I have been involved with Set Free for quite some time and have seen and participated in some of the activities. I agree that he has a different way of doing things, but who are we to judge him?

Phill and his family have helped me to get off of drugs, and find the lord.

Any one who can be led to believe these accusations and rumors, obviously never made it past the homes. Loyalty goes along way.
I'm sure we all know the story of Judas. Answer me this how many of you
did phil lead to the lord through his ministry? I am not aware of any uniform or dress code for christians.

Here's my story...

I have been a drug adict for 15 years, in and out of jail, prison and have had no real purpose. I met a member of Chief's church and got saved.

I am no longer doing drugs, obviously I am not in jail and I definately didn't have to "Get Permission" to write this. we all have free will.

But not all christians are as perfect as all of you are. I happen to love tattoo's and love skulls and motorcycles. I don't ask chief todo things because I have to, it's repect and being greatful. I have lived my life on my own and it was a train wreck. Through Set Free and Chief and his children I have learned great things about who I am and what I am Capable of. How many of you dare to walk the streets and invite homless drug adicted people into your homes? He puts his faith into Jesus knowing that he is protected. I certainly do not see any of you attending service, or ministering to others.

I once was blind, But now I can see. If set free didn't work for you then fine, but why would you take away from the peple whom he does reach.

As far as them being dangerous, We are all legends in our own minds.

Phill is just having a great time in the flesh and praising jesus as well.

Sure there are people who can't be helped, or even want help and most people in the homes take advantage of Phil in my opinion. he gets them off dope, helps them get work, feeds them, clothes them, and prays for them all in a days work.

There is no meaningful accountability through democratically elected church boards or detailed published financial reports, which disclose all salaries, compensation and expenses.

Power corrupts, and abosolute power corrupts absolutely.

Aguilar has been involved in repeated scandals and remains a controversial figure.
