The references at are not all postive. There is a thread about Sterling at FactNet . I just googled Sterling Institute. Sometimes one needs to go a page or two deep in google to get away from the 'official' links.

Remember that people may place their email addresses on a webpage or posting for a number of reasons. I have, in the past, placed an email address on a post for the sole purpose of contacting others who were also interested in the Columbia disaster. That did not mean I wished to be contacted about cults. In addition, people are busy. It may take them days or even weeks to return an email.

QuoteFishbulbI started to but I have been up to my eyeballs in university studies 'til this morning and didn't have a spare hour and a half to watch. I will this summer though. It did look good. I was sucked into an evangelical cult as a preteen so I have a special interest in them. Same here. I started it the day before my classes and I haven't had a chance to get back to it

I know that SA Ken Lanning used to do research on children and Satanic Ritual Abuse and cults. I assume others in the behavioral science department do as well, as I know retired SA John Douglas did work during the stand-off at Waco.

Some of the teachings of this group and its vehicle "Mission of the Aquarian Order" sound cult like. For example: QuoteARTICLE 6. Quotecarlusually, I think of a cult as an offshoot of something. is this group related to anyone? Many cults are not offshoots of any religion. This particular group distorts the beliefs of the Church of Satan by taking what they like and distorting it.

Very interesting man, he is considered by many to be a believer in the 'Dual Covenant' theory, which ticks a lot of fundamentalist Christians off. I found this article over at Personal Freedom Outreach to be well researched and footnoted although dated (1990).

QuoteThe National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) Executive Committee has voted to terminate the membership of the University Bible Fellowship (UBF), which had been a member of the NAE since 1995. In late 2003, the NAE began an investigation into allegations of cultic and aberrant UBF teachings and practices, around the time that an online petition was begun, requesting that the NAE revoke UB
