BTW, is "spiritual wife" mentioned anywhere in the FP? It's been so long since I've read it.

I was thinking of attempting to put most of these flashback-inducing words/phrases into one extremely violent, ALL CAPS prophesy...using the typical bind/loose format. But I just couldn't go there. A sigh of relief--you've all been spared this contribution...for now :)

Yes, one consistent theme with TLWF is nothing is ever the way it seems, or presented to the congregation. The other, which goes along with it, is everything is ultimately done for the benefit of top leadership. It's the antithesis of the teachings in the NT. Following the money is the right approach.

My designated relationship for over 13 years. He was pretty lenient with me as long as I kept the treats coming.

It's a new day. (I wanted to do my part in breaking the silence here, and this is the only thing that came to me. I promise I will try harder with my next post.)

Have a good one TLRF and Kboy. Appreciate your contributions, very helpful in wading through this madness. Note: Out of habit, I almost wrote TLWF instead of TLRF, which would have defeated the very purpose of my comment. Good thing I'm starting to read my comments before posting :) p.s. Here's a clip I return to often to clear my head. It too has been immensely beneficial in ke

Wishing everyone in this forum a Happy Thanksgiving. It's been a pleasure conversing with you during this eventful year. In fact, I'm almost at the point where..assuming I ever get a calendar...I would definitely consider putting your sh*t on it. That's a big 'breakthrough'(sorry for the walk word) for me! Never thought I could reach this point of openness. All the be

Blowout survey questions/answers continued: #8 Do you hand out candy to kids at Halloween? My wife does, yes. Or she used to. #9 If so, are there any costumes so offensive that candy is withheld? She's not easily offended, so no. However, if a kid was wearing an oversized Hawaiian shirt & had a horrible attitude ("shut up and give me the damn candy") while claiming to b

Here is an interesting article where a former WaPo foreign correspondent (Charles Krause) spent time with People's Temple members just days before the mass murder-suicide. The Congressman he was traveling with, and four others were killed on the tarmac, just before boarding the plane that would take them home. He was injured, and pretended to be dead, and was the only one to survive the inv

In the 21 years I was involved in the fellowship, I've never spoken to Rick H., or him to me. I recall, however, during the whole "kill the male spirit' phase of TLWF (early to mid-90's), during which my wife had a directive from Mom to 'kill' me, asking someone who I knew was close to Rick whether he followed any of these teachings. The guy simply laughed. Message

BTW, when I was stationed in Redlands, I wrote consistently to my immediate overseerer (Dick L.) about specific issues that I thought needed to be addressed within the church. Dick, as those who know him personally can attest, was a very kind man, who believed love was the answer to all problems. The response I received for almost everything I brought to his attention was that I needed to love

Different levels of access and hence, different levels of awareness. Aside from the exploitation of people in the fellowship to provide free labor for the benefit of key ministries, and the continuous harsh treatment of those that dare step out of line, I was not privy the outrageous violations that have gone public the past few weeks. Part of it was where I was stationed--14 years in Redlands,
