In the Soviet Union and Russia, communism was a social experiment that died just as the LW cult social experiment is dying. We were its guinea pigs. How many followers are left? Maybe a thousand from its height of 10,000 or more followers before the founder died. I wonder, where are they now? I guess what I am saying is like Larry Bobo, I also have a burden for them.

I agree. We all come to this forum for different reasons having had a shared experience that still keeps us loosely connected but in a more empathetic way. I'm looking forward to Jesus Camp's story.

You may have heard of Ravi Zacharias from his involvement in the book The Kingdom of the Cults. His Let My People Think broadcasts helped me in clearing the air so I could return to my first love and continue to walk on. I noticed that the first broadcast I heard a few years ago and that kind of turn things around for me, "The Uniqueness of Christ in History" is available for free downl

FCSLC according to some old posts from Larry Bobo a number of folks who left had not re-attended church. I have often thought that if I tried sitting in a pew with those on the platform looking down at me and maybe just one of them would try to tune into my spirit, I would lose it. Maybe that kind of reaction will eventually go away. I've been pondering Palefaces insights on hubris and po

I know what you are talking about. I often wondered what happened to the Beatitudes? Were they cast aside for a man's interpretation of Joel's army. It seems to me that the authoritarian structure was a set up for bullies. An old friend of mine once lived in the Blix house until she didn't comply with the rules regarding the purchase and storage of her canned food. As I remember

It looks like my above post before Larry's got cut off. I don't know why that happened but in part of the missing section I wanted to thank Invisible for clarifying the Anaheim church incident regarding preying upon woman. I think we all know that JRS didn't stand for that kind of behavior and it's good to make that very clear by showing how he handled such matters. I want to

Ditch Digger Yasper thanks for improving the video sound. Much better. Even the followers of William Branham were reported to have taken their time with his burial as they believed he would be resurrected. Regarding JRS there was so much prayerful "first fruits first" intercession shouting that began years before his passing that to believe JRS would be resurrected probably seemed with

Paleface thanks for providing the Vain Glory video link. My main criticism of the video is Tony's comment that JRS directed ministers to have sex with members of the congregation. I doubt it and I don't know of any evidence to support it. Also, I don't remember any services in which the congregation sang worship songs to JRS calling him LORD. But maybe that came later after I lef

Ditchdigger Yasper, Are you still out there? I found Vain Glory on You Tube by entering a goggle search: John Robert Stevens then on page 3 towards the bottom of the page I found Vain Glory You Tube. Let me know what you think of it. For me it was weird recognizing many faces particularly Tony's ex-wife Melinda who I knew. I think I saw John Miller too.

FCSLC great post. Among all the various biblical interpretations man has ever come up with, I have to say in my opinion the most insidious, abusive, and the most "not of the Lord" has to be the ridged authoritarian structures that require those who love the Lord to grovel and cower before the self made throne of a man or a woman rather than come boldly before the Lord's throne of g

FCSLC I was raised in the Catholic Church so I can confirm your above post. Catholics were fodder for the Walk knowing how to check their minds in at the door. Another thing about being Catholic a quarter of a century ago was there was no Bible study, particularly in the OT. The Walk's interpretations of the OT dazzled me even the parts that really weren't in the OT but sounded OT. It&

I forgot to mention that one big surprise for me was the story of the so called other woman spiritual wife of JRS. Nichols doesn't name her but said she and her actual husband were commissioned to oversee the Bay area churches so doesn't that identify the spiritual wife as Ruth Klein? Big shocker if true...never heard that one. Then in 1980 per Factnet (again not sure of veracity) Ruth

I found the Nichols publication last week by chance. I have only skimmed it while watching yet another Breaking Bad marathon binge. Most of what I read was new to me and I don't think I can confirm the veracity of anything as I wasn't on the inside. Those who were in the ministry may have more insight. I would be interested in your reviews. Too bad JRS didn't give an interview or a

Good post Corboy re: test of character I never experienced G&M after JRS passed but before I left the Walk I thought Gary was (as one of John's sons) the cat's meow. He was articulate, bold, and everything I was not. Back then I could have been convinced of anything.

Woodrow Nichols in Chapter 13 of his e-book (goggle spiritual counterfeits project the walk, then click JRS The Walk-Reflections from the Wall) tries to give a plausible theory about if JRS had a genuine call of God on his life. Nichols concludes that JRS's life had a parallel to the life of Saul but "a better definition of the sum total of Steven's ministry has yet to be given.&qu

The posts have been great and have given me more to ponder. So.....can we go back to poking fun at the nephilim for the last time. Following are my 5 tips on how to know if your hair dresser is a nephilim: 1. He wears a tee shirt that says, "I survived Noah's flood." 2. He has nephilim breath. 3. His pit bull is named Goliath. 4. He believes the holocaust never hap

Given the religious upbringing by JRS's father and religious background of the churches JRS attended, I think it is highly likely that he believed what he taught the congregation and the psychological factors mentioned above by Corboy and Changedagain could easily have been at play in his personality. However, when 1979 approached did JRS wonder at all if it was all empty words. The question

Andre was the name of the San Fernando Valley nephilim hair dresser that John exposed. Goes to show that you can't trust the French but I don't think Andre was assassinated. I do recall hearing those claims about the prophetic hits on the Kennedy brothers and that Joe Kennedy (the father) also was big nephilim. I believe JRS's politics leaned to the right.
