I noted that the site is in Toronto the city of the infamous "Toronto Blessing" It was supposed to be an "outpouring of the Holy Spirit" but, then you see what really happened and, I guess you could call it demonic, if you were oriented to a ministry, and in biblical terms, I have dozens and dozens of newspaper articles, all connected to certain types of &qu

to the RRmoderator: funny you should mention financial statements I have a great deal of material that I could send to you that pertains to the financial situation of the UPCI, all of it taken from their own publication, the Pentecostal Herald. They take in millions, upon millions of tax free money. They have foundations set up. All 100 % U.S. tax exempt. I am concerned that they

\ For those of you that question if the UPCI is a cult, yet another news report of sexual abuse and perverted practices at a UPCI affiliate, by a UPCI licensed minister. Rev. Joshua W. Lawson was charged by the Wicomico County State's Attorney someone burned his church to the ground I suspect he will get a big insurance check for the church and the UPCI is very good at

Here is another news article regarding the UPCI on the day that this story ran, I checked the UPCI.org web site and the church and pastor were indeed listed with the UPCI as part of their organization. According to the article, the Rev. Joshua W. Lawson was charged with sex abuse, second-degree sexual assault, a fourth-degree sex offense and perverted practice by the Wicomico County S

All of this sounds very pentecostal for the folks in Australia, I can give you something to consider regarding the growth of this movement in the US. 1. 50 years ago, this "spirit worship" style was mainly confined to tent meetings. 2. Today, they have "annointed" the President of the United States. 3. The President of the United States has set them up with thei

There is much that I can tell you about this organization both from personal experience, the experiences of others that have posted to various web based forums, and from the newspapers. you state that you don't want anyone to "bash" your religion so, I can not tell you what I know to be true, but, as you are about to become licensed with them, and out of my concern for

I attended a UPCI headed by a District Superintendant. Among their practices, was the doctrine of "uncut hair". The wife of the DS, claimed to have "power" due to the fact that she never cut her hair. This is a distinctive feature of the UPCI. The whole idea is explained in detail in the book "Power Before the Throne" by Ruth Reider, grandaughter of Nathaniel

I attended a UPCI church run by a District Superintendant. Among their many practices were "uncut hair" of the women. It was preached that the pastors wife had special powers from god because she had never cut her hair. This is a distinctive feature of the UPCI. In her book, "Power Before the Throne", Ruth Reider explains why women of "uncut hair" have a

Thank you for your efforts to protect others. The redirect trick with the website seems to me to be rather tame, and appropriate for England, were good manners prevail, Here in the States, a fellow set up a website called "ex-pentecostals" someone bought up the URL and it now hits to a porn site. so he had to take another URL, something like Be ex-pentecostal be careful

will not address the issue in terms of this church or that church, or a specific pastor, or congregation, I have never been to Bergen County, but, I have been to many churches, of several denoms, I have spoken to hundreds of people that have attended a church and are now, "freaked out" and looking for answers and explainations. I understand your concern for your children, here

I have noted several pro-UPC comments. Even to the extent that child abuse is minimized, ("well , it happens") For those that are concerned about destructive churches, I have an alert for you. UPCI has announced plans to march on Washington DC on October 4-5th the announcement states, "FOCUS-DC is a call to all Apostolics to impact our nation by spiritually impacting our

Here is an article from Morton, MS I have personally sat in a UPCI church, and heard the preaching about the kind of things that can "happen" when a rebellious member cuts their hair and "removes the protective covering of angels". Hard to believe, until you see it "happen" again, and again, and again. ohmygosh

Do swarms of lawyers decend when you refer to the UPC with the "c" word? Or do lightening bolts come straight out of Ashcrofts office? I don't want trouble for the forum, so I will refrain from using the "c" word, but, I will call attention to the book "Power Before the Throne" by Ruth Reider, the grand daughter of Urshan, a UPC pioneer. In the b

The UPCI and the Mississippi District Board of the UPCI are being sued for 35 million dollars. I am guessing they will draw "the sword of the spirit" spiritual warfare, special prayer teams of "god's annointed ones" will be assembled. and all hell is about to break loose in poor little Petal Mississippi The UPCI likes their kingdoms and their millions and

I am new on the forum. I am a member of several other forums that pertain to destructive churches. The direction of this message thread is more than I can bear. But, I opted to jump in here, because the Destructive Church forum contained posts by Azuza. (Note to poster: please do not take this personally, it is not you, just the name and the movement that scares me) Between Azuza an
