One thing I want to mention, is the comments made about Tony Parsons so far, were mainly from a comment from another person on the Janaki blog, where someone else referenced Tony Parsons name numerous times in a blog comment. Of course, people are free to do what they like, and its their life. But its not a great idea to move from Byron Katie, who presents herself as "non-dual" and

Abstention from any sort of guru, teacher or charismatic type for five years seems a wise plan. And that should include even dead gurus, like Ramana Maharshi. Often, newly divorced or separated persons are advised to take time between relationships. And on the dating scene we are told to be careful about dating when 'on the rebound.' The problem with implimenting this wise adv

'Former LGAT Guru followers might consider a radical experiement...no Guru's for 5 years!' The best possible advice. I felt a bit queasy at the mention of Tony Parsons as Janaki's new friend. BK was always described as her friend rather than her Guru. As far as I know Parsons is a fairly low key non-dual teacher. The non-dual teachings have a perennial appeal and are th

The harsh reality is that many many senior "facilitators" or franchisees with many of these LGAT groups end up bankrupt. Literally. That is a fact. Anyone who has been in that business, sees person after person pushed into bankruptcy after dealing with the Guru for a number of years. Going to the edge of bankruptcy, and into bankruptcy, that is not uncommon in these seminar groups. It

I came here to post a link re the update on Janaki's blog, but I see Stoic has gotten to it already. Thanks. Yes, there is life after Byron Katie. The thing is, if one becomes immersed in Byron Katie's world to the degree that someone like Janaki does and then leaves, there can be quite a price to pay. For example, Janaki spoke in her latest blog about possibly having to go bankrupt.

Janaki (former BK facilitator) has posted an update on her blog about the fall-out from her split with BK. She describes the depression she suffered after ceasing to do the 'Work' and how she came back to a more normal view on the world. Her commenters have interesting observations to make also. Janaki blog update Take heart, there is life after Byron Katie.

Unfortunately, the comment above by David Baxter is quite disingenuous. What he posted is clearly a professional endorsement and a promotion of the Byron Katie International BKI business. It is even exclusively featured in the REVIEWS section of his website. The Work of Byron Katie David Baxter Published by David Baxter September 3rd, 2007 David Baxter has posted a huge sect

Any so-called "therapist" who hooks people into Byron Katie and refers them to her dangerous LGAT seminar needs to be reported to their licensing committee. (if they have one). Many so-called therapists are totally unregulated, and can be completely incompetent, or also running their own Byron Katie style "Life-Coaching" business, or be Mind-washed by Byron Katie themselves.

A report by William Yenner QuoteIt seems that even after a period of years outside of Cohen's physical orbit, his influence remains a powerful factor in (former disciples) assessment of their own motivations and general unworthiness as spiritual practitioners, and though my sympathy is neither solicited nor appreciated, I can't help but extend it. This is, after all, a tragic

The link 2 posts above appears to be a direct link to the PDF of the archived blog about Janaki and Byron Katie. So a person could access the PDF either through a direct download, or an email request. Has anyone checked if the text is pretty much the same as the blog, or has it been updated? Its unfortunate for readers that the blog was taken offline, as all of the direct links to the blo

Anticult, Do you really want to know more about me or were you being rhetorical? I am willing to answer any questions you have. If you just want to use my name to further your agenda/beliefs that's fine too. I have no public profession related to any of this (and have no interest in advocating for those who do) and have nothing at stake in whatever anyone thinks. Just to get your facts st

I found this post on Janaki's blog, as a response to someone who called her a drama queen: QuoteReading this blog, as compared to the Katie blog, who is the drama queen? Katie turns mild physical ailments of aging, into a dramatic life or death drama which serve as marketing for her business. Katie has spoken about how she gives non-judgemental acceptance to an active criminal pedophi

Yes, that was it, thanks. That passage is almost identical, emotionally, to passages in the book Altar Music, about certain nuns who "communed" with eachother touching eachothers chests/hearts, except they were not nude in a pool in the book! But there were other areas of the book, about the sexual abuse from the older nun to the younger nuns, but they didn't go into much detai

Its interesting how "Makepeace" was trying to trip-out on Janaki in the blog comment section, and get under her skin. There you have a blog by Janaki, who has written about 43 pages. And then you have an obvious BKI person (you know who, who is trying to deflect from that in his later comments) trying to trip-out on Janaki for writing a few blog pages. When Byron Katie has THOU
