Joe.....Amen to that last post, brother! :D David, with regard to exclusive websites, there is no need to formulate a doctrine. We all know that this website is the only true website....and that the "other" websites are counterfeits, an amalgamation of the secular and spiritual. God will reject them. Brent

Hey Joe I have realy enjoyed getting to know you. I really think the main benefit for this kind of site is to vent all the junk thats been piling up inside of us because of our experiences. If you decide to stop contributing then I will have to develope an exclusive doctrine concerning websites. "There are many different websites, yes, But are they truely what is right? pure? Sanctified? (

I guess I was too quick to say I was joining the "lurkers"--- what I meant is maybe I should shut up for a while---and let others share more of their experiences. I didn't take anything anyone said negatively at all. That quote by St. Francis of Assisi though really says it all---A Christian's actions speak far more than the words you might say. As I shared, even in a small

Hi Joe, Terry, Brent, and Others: Joe, please stay and make your contribution. I don't know if you have checked out the new website under testimonials, but several of your posts have made it onto the site. I shared the business about Al as an encouragement to you and others that even the abuser can change and make his way out of the Assembly. (of course you may have been joking about jo

Joe! We hardly knew ya! What do you want to become a lurker for? Don't fade away into outer darkness, keep on posting, you are one of the stars here! Seriously, I think it is important to use names, as long as we tell the truth, and don't bring up settled issues. Unsettled issues? Now that's another matter, they need to be brought up. The Assembly is into keeping silen

Thank for clarifying what I meant by the Jerry Lewis telethon, if you have ever watched the telethon every time you look up at the tally board the numbers keep getting higher and higher at a pretty fast rate. Maby this one is better. A taxi cab driver and a minister both arived at the gates of heaven at the same time. The attendant at the gate questioned them both as to their occupations while

Hello Everyone Dan Smith moved to Vancouver, and then moved home, to be with the Lord. I am in contact with a brother in the Midwest who knew him well. He claims that Dan was run out of the Springfield Assembly by George. (Imagine that) My friend from the Midwest may be lurking here as well, and if he is, he may want to say something about Dan...since I didn't know him, I don'

Mark--- Sorry---didn't mean to put Campbell as a last name. Give Al my best. I really shouldn't use names because we were all in the same boat, and all have learned through time. Terry---your words from St. Francis of Assisi say it all. I will now join the crowd of "lurkers" and just observe from now on. Take care all, Joe

Greetings Mark and everyone else: Thanks for the clarification. I really don't think that we are that far apart on the subject. I do believe the Scriptures contain propositional truth. In the assembly frequently it was "what the Lord spoke to me," etc. It's more important first to find out the burden of the writer rather than "what spoke to me." Some of the authors

Hi Joe, I must correct you on the name of the open air preacher, as I or a relative of mine, do not wish to be implicated in the before mentioned crime re. public speaking; my last name is Campbell, his was Anderson. Also Joe, I would like to let you know that I am in regular contact with Al. I'm sure he would be very apologetic for the past misery he put you through. I got to see

David--- I'm sorry if you're referring to my posts as resembling the "Jerry Lewis telethon". Most of what I post is different as I'm relating things that happened to "me" more than writing an expository research on the Assembly. I know a lot of it sounds "silly"--but that's because it was "silly" to say the least. Why would one want

Mark--- It's interesting you mention Bob Campbell open air preaching in front of a family gathering. I remember one night a group of about 8 of us or so went to The "Bear Pit"(a local barbecue place) and once we were inside, Al, in an act of "boldness" insisted we sing a hymn at our table. I will not lie when I admit that I was extremely embarrassed by this, feeling it

Hi All, David, I also remember Steve Iron's article re. Dan Smith, but couldn't find the copy here. If we could get in touch with Steve we probably would have a wealth of particulars re. the situation. I remember hearing Bahkt Singh on his visit's to Fullerton. On his last couple of visits he always preached the same message from Revelation on the Church of Laodicea. I fo

Terry Steve Irons detailed that situation reguarding Dan Smith in a paper he wrote. I don't have a copy and I havn't heard from Steve in almost a year. My take on Bahkt Singh is the same as yours, George was refused an acomodation and needed someone to justify his ministry. I think he duped Mr. Sigh into thinking that the assembly was a place where Mr. Sigh could have a large amou

I'm not sure where Obiadun lived while in Fullerton He was from Cal Poly Pomona, while at Cal Poly he was involved with the Clarmont (Plymouth Bretheren Assembly) He was in our Country illegally yet instead of encouraging him to get a Green card George wanted him to go back to Nigeria and become part of the work there. (George made it a spiritual issue. "It is sin for you to be here!

Hi Greg, Yes, I know where Rand is and I have his address if you are interested in writing him. At my last contact with him he did not have a computer. He is living in Texas now and is going to a Evangelical church there. I talked to him about why he left and he felt the Assembly had abandoned their earlier high prinicples and that he couldn't fellowship there any longer. He was so

Greetings to David and all you non-mystics ( Ha HA): Thanks for the info David. Years ago I understand that when Geo was first coming to the Midwest, a gentleman from the Ply Brethren, Dan Smith, also had been invited and spoke I think either in Champaign or Tuscola, Illinois. It turns out Geo bad-mouthed him, too, and accused him of "trying to take credit for the Lord's work." I

It's interesting to read everyone's posts. I faded away from the assembly a couple of years ago after 10 years of involvement with the Fullerton Assembly. I lived in Brothers' houses for 6 years. I say "faded away" because my involvement waned to the point that I would rarely attend meetings. I considered my self as having "left fellowship" when I moved o

Hi Just wanted to let you know Terry that there is a missionary at Ave 54 Bible Chaple in Highland Park CA., Ciprian Kia, who has spent his whole life working in Nigeria, Today he is there about 8 months of the year. He has a lot to say about George. Quote "There are not 30 assemblies" More like 3-4. (Unless you count contacts who lives out in the bush.) Also George has caused him a l

Mark, Greetings. That is incredible about George’s “liberty” in interpreting Ephesians. I’m sure the examples are endless. I remember him interpreting the “ear” of corn in MK 4:28 meaning that we should listen. The Greek word (4719) has nothing to do with the human ear. I know that seems harmless but it does cause confusion.

Hello everyone I wrote a book called Navigating the Deeper Life, which is all about mysticism and how it effected me. (I am not trying to plug the book, but you can get it for free on the webiste, ) My problem with mystics is that they are so unlike Jesus. They aren't even like Paul or Peter. It seems that they talk and talk, but never seem to accomplish anything. The opposite of a

Hi Terry and Others, Does my subject title remind you of anything? Terry, if your study of "Mystics" helped you find a individual life with God I can't complain about it. Maybe certain personality types wouldn't relate to mystical teaching like mine did, which was damaging to my soul. I think there are "Mystics" like Tozer and then there are "Mystics"

Greetings Mark + everyone else: It was a great point how "mystics" were shanghaied by GG to serve "corporate" ends. While in the assembly I read a lot of A.W. Tozer, and then purchased the authors he (Tozer) mentioned or quoted from. For me they (the mystics) were a saving grace, as I realized they had a depth of communion with God and it didn't involve a frenzied sche
