Hi Joe, I don't know who you are but we have a common bond in that God has been merciful to us. The Cycle of devotion is also referred to as the “Heavenly Ladder”. If you are interested I referred to it in “The two Babylons” (Pg. 7) Basically it is religion and focuses your eyes on yourself rather than on Christ. David G. told me it didn’t work for him, but I continued to try. I a

When I was in the Assembly they had what was called the "Cycle of Devotion"--I was just wondering if they still used that term or is it called something else now? It was based on Psalm 51 and supposedly had secret powers if you did it correctly--or at least that is what we were led to believe. I got tired of it though because it seemed so repititious--like reading prayers out of a pray

Joe I use get discouraged because I compared myself to Mark and Brent but now I look at it this way at least I "Post" once in a while yet there are somewhere between 100 and 300 people who dont "Post" at all. They are in "Cyberdarkness" While I am in the light and "In Fellowship" The fact that I am still here means that there is still HOPE for me.

Joe: Have I got a shortcut for you! Tell everyone you have a "burden," write a few letters (resumes)to key people, and make a large donation anonymously(but not too, the recipient needs to know who you are and the size of your "burden"). Soon everyone who is anyone will realize and acknowledge your delegated "worthiness." Simply make out your check to : Eccle

Hi Dave, You put it very well! You show the confusion in the teaching and how it can lead to anti-depressants in one's life. I heard after leaving that many in Fullerton were being encouraged to take "beta-blockers" due to being diagnosed by Betty as depressed; is this true? The geftakysassembly.com website was having a few problems with the bulletin board, but all seems to

No matter how hard I try I just can't be an overcomer member. I want to be an overcomer member, but I guess I'm just not godly enough yet. Maybe one day I can be an overcomer member when I'm deemed worthy enough. But I'll really have to be faithful or I might wind up in outer member darkness where those unfortunates are who once visited this board faithfully, but who forsoo

Hey Dave whats' with all the distrcation/interruptions/contradictions? Just a minute, I need to go take my Zoloft. O.K. I'm back. Look I dont want to argue with you O.K? Sure there are a lot of things I don't understand. I'll just go and ask the brothers about these seemingly contradictions yet on second thought whenever I ask them about these things they seem to take i

Hey I just want to explain the doctrine I learned while in the Assembly It goes like this, A few pages from "Ethics" by Bohnhoffer, and a few pages from "Purity of heart is to will One Thing" by Kirkagarred. Before they fell, Adam and Eve Knew only One thing, "The will of God" This "One Thing" corassponds to the Psalmst "One thing have I desired...&q

Hi Brent and Others. I get it now; but that would make you a Member as well. I just had a great conversation with Eric on the phone. It was so good to be able to hear his voice and share in his joy in knowing there is life after the Assembly. Pray for healing for him as he has a blood disease (I hope it is alright to mention this Eric). I tried to access the bulletin board over

There are many articles about "cults" at colleges within my archive. All you need to do is go to the search page and enter "college cults" or "cults on campus" and a listing of articles will come up as search results. Some of the most common groups recruiting at colleges that have been called "cults" are: International Church of Christ Sri Chinmoy T

Hello Terry: I am still monitoring this board, but am spending most of my time over at "the other" place;) Look for a history article sometime in the future. I have all the facts together, and have verified them independently, but I must get signed affadavits from my sources before I post the article. The best defense against libel is Truth. I can tell you this: "Ac

Terry, Yes, you express my feelings exactly re. the benefit of discussing GG's mystical message. "Posioning the well" is exactly the danger! Once people have heard and "tried" GG's false mysticism/holiness pursuit and then failed they are likely to think God has failed them and thus the whole thing is false. I look forward to your contribution on the topic as

HI ALL, Greg, you have a very clear manner in describing the irony of Assembly rules re. leaving. I know you are feeling the sting of the Valley rejection now. It is great to know that Christ promised to never leave us or forsake us. One brother from the beach told me he was told the blood of Christ would no longer cover him if he left, as he did not receive the blessing of the leadership.

Hello Mark: I for one wd. be glad if you addressed this topic. Knowing the source(s) of some of his thoughts/theology wd. be very enlightening, especially when his distortions have made for some "a poisoned well" of so many useful things, incl. the Bible itself. For those who have been chewed up and spit out by a supposed servant of god and his dysfunctional system, even the idea of a

Greetings everyone: I was wondering if anyone ever met a girl from Spfld., Illinois who lived and went to university in the Fullerton area for about 1 semester back in about 1987 or so. Amy D. returned to Spfld and attended 1 meeting and then was never seen again. I can't help but wonder if she had some bad experience while out there. She was a nice gal. Appreciate any info. Terry

I would really like to hear what present Assembly members think as I'm sure they must have some opposing arguments. God Bless, Mark I thought the article was excellent, and quite on the mark with regard to the fruit of "Assembly" holiness. Not much to say about it except that it s getting wide readership, more than 100 page views! I guess the only thing I might add

Hi Greg, David, Joe, Mark, Brent, … Before I get into my subject matter, I’d like to mention something concerning all the views to this website. I know back in 1998 – 1999 a certain leader charged another leader in front of the leadership and certain door brothers (aka door keepers elsewhere) in the valley to “be diligent to check on the internet frequently”. I didn’t know what was meant by

Here’s a start CHECK LIST FOR LEAVING THE ASSY 1. You must ask others to find out if you have issues with them. It is not enough to believe and say that you hold no grudges and love the Lord’s people. If others think you have an issue with them you must go to them and find out what it is. (MT 5:23) 2. You must know where you are being called to. It is not enough to walk by fait

Joe, I'm glad you are not heading out to lurkerville as I have truly learned a lot from your post's. As we share it brings back things that I had forgotten and since our past is interwoven it strikes a chord. Also discussing the actual events brings the warning messages of scripture re. the Assembly into clear relief for all to view ( also for the truly vast sea of lurking friends)
