The former members of the Geftakys Assembly apparently felt they wanted a site exclusively devoted to their group experience. They have moved their discussion over to the other site, which is linked from my Links page. Rick Ross

Hi Joe, The Assembly sexual instructions seemed to have a deep and lasting effect on you. First it was Aunt Bea, in Andy of Mayberry, and now baseball that you had to imagine in order to achieve proper, (how shall we say it?) fulfillment. It is very humorous when we think about how ridiculous the whole scenario was. It would be good to get your imput at the new site Joe.

David--- I enjoyed your "Ten things you learned in Fellowship". When I was there (circa 1974-1980) it was o.k. to masturbate as long as you didn't think of anything pornographic. So I used to think of baseball. To this day when I hear "slide!! slide!!" I get very excited. (just kidding). take care, Joe

I haven't posted for a few days because I have been in deep mourning and a repentant state. I watched the Andy Griffith show and it happened again. There's something about Aunt Bee that just makes me lose my self-control. And now I'm facing that month of supreme pagan idolatry with that wicked tree and it's attending decorations of filth. That old bearded over-eating man in re

Hi Dave and All, GG is like the Wizard in the Wizard of OZ when Toto pulls back the curtain! He exudes a great power, but it's all smoke and mirrors. I'm happy that Toto pulled back the curtain for me. I don't think that the Wizard pooped his pants in the movie when his deception was uncovered, but maybe that part was cut to make the movie "G" rated? (please share s

I was young at the time of the Manson murders, but I have read a couple books about them. The way I remember it, Leslie Van Houten (was she Sadie May Glutz?) was put in prison for MURDER and consipracy to commit murder, and other crimes. As far as I know, being in a cult, and under the influence of Charles Manson, wasn't illegal. It was what they DID while under his control that was wron

Hi Everyone This is a rather common phenomenon I think. At its root is pride. After leaving the first cult, people think they are so smart for "figuring out the problem." or they think they are so brave and courageous because they left, etc. What many of us don't do is to accurately judge ourselves and realize that it was our own character flaws that made us vulnerable.

Hey Mark, I invited C.M. to watch the Dave Draveky movie at my church and he pretty much said no way. I also tried to talk with him at the library and he wouldn't even look at me. His number is listed in Fullerton. Good Luck. Hey Guess who I ran into? Yes the Great G.G. He is a coward when he is alone.! I think he messed his shorts! When I was his flunky he was 10 feet tall, now he

Well said Terry. In order to forgive, one must be aware of how they were offended/wronged/violated, etc. This is often the "sifting" process that you described. The other aspect of forgiveness, at least Biblical forgiveness, is that we must go to the person who offended and confront them. As many of you know, Matthew 18 is one place where this idea is developed in the Bible.

Hi Everyone, There is one common characteristic I have discovered re. those who have lived in Bros. houses' and that is the comedic ability to deliver great puns! I don't know if it is gallows humor, the ability to laugh at one's self, or what. You guys have me in stitches! The greatest Assembly punster that I remember was Jerry Trumble; he was an absolute genius. He would

Great Topic! What worked for me is simple. 1. take responsibility for joining. Yes, the leaders are to blame, but they didn't abduct me, I willingly allowed them to control me. Deal with this first. (there can be many facets here, but very importatnt, because you don't want to get "out of the frying pan and into the fire.") 2. Confront the bastards! (sorry for the s

Dave, That is great that you are helping others. I have found real liberty in caring for others since getting out from under "law". Sorry, I don't know of any books re: evidence. Possibly "Haley's (Halley's?) Bible Handbook" (I forget the name). Good to hear from you. This site takes a long time to post!

Greetings David: You might be interested in The Founding of Christendom by Warren H. Carroll vol. 1 in "A History of Christendom" series. He writes as a historical scholar, giving out tidbits of archeological evidence along the way as he looks at the cultures from which Abraham and on up came out of. Of course Egypt is mentioned in connection with Moses. There is lots of documentation

Hey Greg, Remember the outreaches? One good thing I learned in the assembly was to visit those less fortunate. So I am spending time working with the homeless shelters in Fullerton. They are supported by all of the churches in the area. E.V.Free etc... I am also doing research in Egyptian History. I am realy interrested in finding evidence that would support the biblical acounts in the firs

Hey Mark I am glad you liked the article, (whish I could find it?) Yes I lived with C.M. I have some good memories of those three years. Yet it was a difficult time in his life as he couldn't earn a decent living I really think it was depression/learned helplessness/lazyness and he went to work at Ariel where he was wooped into shape. Yet I think he really could have done much better for
