It is interesting to see how active these boards are. On 25 October this post went up about reaching 20 000 articles. Now, on 9 November, the 21 000 mark has already been exceeded. It , unfortunately, goes to show that the problems this message board deals with are not disappearing. Fortunately, I would suggest it is saying that more and more people are speaking up about them. As I have

I found an interesting article titled "Reflections on Marriage and Children after Cults". I think a lot of what is said can be applied to other relationships and, for me, it shows what a partner, not subjected to cults (or LGAT thought reform), might be unknowingly facing in trying to resurrect a relationship. Here is the link, followed by some quotes from the article, which ho

I was taking at a look at Mark Bunker's blog that deals with Scientology today, and came across a section about two dentists that CoS tried to rip off. The video and transcript can be found here: Anyway, the first part of the transcript read: QuoteBarbara: Well, my first exposure to L. Ron Hubbard-I never even knew who he was-was at a free seminar by the Sterling Management Group

I just spent the better part of a day being thoroughly entertained by a number of anti-Scientology websites. The best source, I would reckon is Operation Clambake at Then, Mark Bunker's blog at has some superb material. Also, if you like videos, take a look at Xenu TV at Included on the website are some other videos under General Interest. Also, you will see what Scientologis

QuoteThe main crime perpetuated by cult leaders is how they promote self doubt, how they undermine your own sense of self efficacy, your own inner authority and worth. The concept that you can not know God or advance spiritually except through someone else is a core belief that ensnares every cult follower. It's fine to seek out teachers and authorities and learn from them, but it is a pathe

Funny thing that you mention Operation Clambake, which is directed at exposing what Scientology is all about, because Landmark's actions in trying to have critical information about the group removed smacks of the operations of Scientology. Of course, Werner Erhard, got a lot of his 'technology' from that other looney, L. Ron Hubbard. Look closely enough and you will see nume

I took a look at the Jesus Christians' message board and came across this post from Dave McKay: QuoteBe careful, folks, about not getting too impatient for a response. It's not unrealistic to consider that Fred doesn't have constant access to the forum. It was only last night (Aussie time) that he last posted. On the other hand, if you are talking about the fact that he has eva

You make some good points. Another thing is this world is about balance. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. So, if all the wanters are getting their wants met, someone somewhere else is paying the price for that. For example, for every lottery winner there are millions who don't win. Another thing is for all the positive thoughts in the world, there are some t

Try this thread. There might be some stuff of interest there: It relates to Jerry and Esther Hicks, who were in the original version of "The Secret", but asked to be removed from later editions. Apparently much of what is used in "The Secret" is based on stuff they have written.

Maybe slightly off the topic of the movie, BUT... One of the most harrowing books I have ever read is Seductive Poison by Deborah Layton. It is about Jim Jones and Jonestown. She got out shortly before the end. It was due to her urging that Congressman Ryan made his ill-fated visit to Jonestown where he was shot and killed, followed shortly afterwards by the mass suicides. A book that re

Isn't it ironic how Landmark goes on about creating one's own reality, or things being merely one's interpretation of them. So, why don't they just alter their interpretation, or can they not handle the reality they have created? Why are they so eager to change our perception of things by using threats laced with lies to remove the truth, as seen in the documentary, abou

Hi Starter I am interested in what you have to share about the dreaming stuff as related to by Carlos Castaneda. A false guru used this on my girlfriend, and I would like to know about the psychotic breaks you talk about. How did this 'lucid dreaming' make them happen? What were the symptoms of these psychotic breaks? How did the 'lucid dreaming' leave you feeling?

My two cents is that any exposure of cults is welcome. Doctor Phil doesn't claim to be a cult expert, but he is found in countless homes all around the world, including here in South Africa! He can get the story out. The more these groups are exposed the better. Dealing with people who have been exposed to mind control has to be one of the most frustrating, difficult, and trying thi

As a matter of interest, I spoke to a person who does translations from French to English for a living. He described the work done on the Landmark video as 'pristine'. Among words used on the thesaurus on Microsoft Word for pristine: Immaculate, Perfect, Faultless, Pure. Enough said. The translation was accurate.

It's telling that given the opportunity to answer meaningful questions posed on this thread, and therefore the opportunity to dispel people's concerns about Dave McKay and the Jesus Christians, he chooses to say: QuoteI think that I have explained (several times now) that I don't answer questions just because you ask them. For a good look at how paranoid and closed off, and whacked out this creepy organization, that calls itself a church (!) is, take a look at this five minute video from Youtube. There's an interesting article arising out of an investigation into MLMs in Utah that breaks down just how things work, and how things don't work for the overwhelming majority of those that get involved. It's done from a study of tax payers who are involved with MLMs. View it here: For anyone considering getting involved in MLMs, this is well worth the read.
