"Dr. Robert Hare wrote in his book Without Conscience, that psychopaths often make very intense eye contact, or have unusually piercing eyes. Other researchers have also mentioned the "reptilian gaze" of the psychopath, resembling that of a predator about to consume his or her prey. Victims of the psychopath also often refer to the "laser beam" stare. Strangely enough,

The physician who took Landmark and wanted me to take it gave me advice on getting a discount for the Forum. "Sign up in Manhattan and tell them you were living near the WTC. That way, you can get the discount on tuition they're offering for people who lived in Manhattan on 9/11." My reply - "But that would be a lie." (because I lived in another state but could S

I've deleted the post that refers to his participation until I find the actual excerpt of an interview with Dr. Phil. I have read quite recently that he was involved with EST, but either returned the book to the library or loaned it out, but can't remember which book it was in. There was a reference to Dr. Phil's Pathways Seminars that he started in 1985 stemming from his EST tra

Did you come up with anything on Richard Bralliar, who is listed as a psychiatrist on the home page, but as a DO in his letter? DOs traditionally use methods other than prescription drugs as therapy, and psychiatrists just the opposite. Hmm.....

Kember, I found it fascinating that there is no paper trail on any of the experts featured on The Scoop on Landmark web page. Searching under name and license numbers provided resulted in "No Results Found" on ALL the state licensing boards for physicians, psychologists, DOs, etc. If a practitioner's license is suspended, revoked or retired, it is noted on other licensees, bu

What is hidden in Wolfy's statement about never wanting to harm his children is the idea that he is looking out for his best interests. This is the crazy-making way of selling LE (or whatever agenda a person may have). It looks good on the surface, however, with all the research that has been done about LE, wolfy would send his kids to LE because he wants what is best for them. LE devote

Elena, I likened my Forum to continuing ed for narcissists (or sociopaths, for that matter). By believing everyone is responsible for their own suffering, narcissists get off the hook if they hurt someone because it's not what they did, but what the recipient of their actions did. Like the naturopath who introduced me to LE, when things came out about him, he blamed me for going to hi

Baruch, Your post reminded of how warm and fuzzy everyone felt towards the end of Sunday. I was feeling it and then the leader came right out and stated what we were feeling. He asked, don't we all feel great? We did such a great job, did a lot of work." By that time, much had been shared, associations had been formed, we were exhausted, hungry, coming to the end just before the

QuoteIs it just Landmark you're against, or are there other things too? Is your hostility a function of your life? Does it show up anywhere else? Living in fear is not a great feeling and I would hazard a guess that those people who are scared Landmark will soul-suck or brainwash them are probably sacred of a lot of other things too. Wolfy, I was more than willing to read what you had

QuoteHowever, I have not heard anyone say that a person is responsible for their illnesses, tragedies etc. This happened in my LF in 2001. It was very clear that LE believes illness is a person's choosing. QuoteNow, there is no blame attached to that. No one would ever expect a child to speak up, or expect them to act - there is no blame on the child - the child is never to blame. But

A reader warned the owner of a holistic newsletter of someone advertising his weekend seminar on altered states of consciousness. This person had been in the US and had worked as a holistic physician, but had done a great deal of physical and psychological harm to some of his clients. In the end, it turned out he did not have the credentials he claimed to have, but instead was a Landmark Forum

I certainly second that! Corboy has set a prime example of what can be done with pain - learn, heal and share what you know to help others. I personally cannot thank Corboy enough for the PMs that really got me through some tough stuff.

My father-in-law was a teenager during WWII, living in Germany, and basically forced to be involved in the Hitler Youth Org. I've had many conversations with him about living through the war and also about the Holocaust. According to him, there was the typical propoganda about what was going on, which happens with any war. Most Germans knew it was propoganda and knew what was happening t

who is making false claims about his experience is advertising on the internet. Although he is on the other side of the world right now, the internet makes the planet quite small. He was very much into LE while in the states, broke rules of ethics for professionals, and boasted about illegal behavior. If any adverse reactions occured with clients, he disappeared for a while, but later b

Cyranothe2nd, I read your other post and can SO relate. I was in a very abusive relationship at age 17, and was more afraid of speaking up about that because of the punishment I would receive in church than I was of the abuser. Clergy laid on so much guilt about everything - even thoughts - that it took a long time to get over that training and think outside the box. Unfortunately (or maybe

Thanks Elena. The ad for The Mankind Project was on Craigslist. I posted a reply warning people interested to ask lots of questions, to be cautious as the seminar agenda sounded a lot of like Landmark. Within a short time, someone posted back telling me to learn about "judgement" and how wonderful the program is and how he's now doing volunteer work in Harlem, NY. The pers

Has anyone been to this. They were advertising online that a seminar is being held in NYC. I looked up the home page and it sounds so much like Landmark Education that I did a little research. Nothing really suspicious came up, except that a Cliff Barry, who founded Shadow Work Seminars, did attend est seminars. Shortly thereafter, his weekend training was born. His business associates and

Hi, If you go back to the main topic page of this forum, click on Recovery from Cults. You will see a little menu. Go to the third box (on the right) and click on posts "from the beginning" There was a lengthy discussion about The Assembly which you might find helpful. I believe the people posting started their own web page.

Hi folks, My naturopath, very early on in the patient-professional relationship, wanted to refer me out to a hypnotist because I was "stuck", as he put it - not getting it. At the time, I had no idea the ND was involved in LE. It has become quite clear, over the past 2 yrs, how many techniques he culled from LE and used on me. I recognized some of the jargon, subtly inserted into

If your friend is really into it, trying to convince her she's being conned and under LF influence may send her further into it. Larry, Good for you for getting out and working on recovery. It really is a difficult journey because, at least for me, I knew in my entire being that my perp was really miserable inside, yet he was devaluing me. I wanted to let everyone know the real story, but since he was a "professional", I would have looked like the nut. It's the same with spiritual leaders, and part of

A short time ago, someone posted that Dr. Phil was a graduate of est training and via the Oprah show, carried out a weeks-long Landmark-type of seminar. There is a big difference in what Dr. Phil does\did and what LGATs do. Dr. Phil includes both people involved in a conflict - the "victim", usually the one who is seeking help, and the "perp". His question to the victim

Some interesting reading. If GWB is indeed "born again",why is he hanging out with Rev. Moon? Moon is a powerful figure in Washington, and in other parts of the world, using his Washington Post to plant ideas in the reading public's collective minds regarding everything from family values to political candidates' lifestyles, all for the benefit of deepening his pocket.

Instead of debating religion, bring the thread back to the intent of this board - to explores issues of mind control, cults and cult-like behavior. Our two Presidents definitely have issues - one with sex (power and control) yet and the other alledgedly with addiction (drinking, drugs, religion). Both made sure the world knew they were faithful, church-going people. Both arewere involved in
