Whoa, that's amazing, Anticult. That sure could be where she got the term "The Work", and then added on "of Byron Katie". Check this out: [Mary Poppins Recut]

Thanks for that, Jay. Byron Katie in that video: "Life comes out of your imagination." Yeah, right. I'll try that one on my landlord at the end of the month: "I'm not paying you rent anymore. I've just been imagining you."

A little more on why I feel strongly about getting the word out on Byron Katie... I unfortunately know very well what it feels like to feel deeply depressed to the point of being suicidal. When I was considering attending BK's school last year, I was in pretty bad shape. It's just so fortunate that while in that fragile state, I started to get incredibly concerned about my ability t

QuotecorboyAmen. People have commented on Janaki's site, thanking her for her information, as it gave them information they needed to decide for themselves not to go to 'School'. Given the reports of secrecy, people need to understand that they are doing a community service to speak up, and speak out. And yes, on the internet, if others think your material is valuable, they w

QuoteThe AnticultThis is all accurate. The stuff about the "invitations" is more of the specific technical permissive language BK uses. That is from the "permissive" branch of the new hypnotherapy. This is why BK constantly says...I INVITE you to do _____. That permissive invitation, is more powerful than a direct suggestion. Here is a "testimony" of an alleged

QuoteThe AnticultAnother BK supporter, asked many of her BK associates what happened at the BK School seminar, NONE of them would tell her. How sick is that, for one BK supporter, to not tell another BK supporter, what goes on in the seminars? Its almost like a type of sandbagging of your own friends, or setting them up. She had to find out from a recent post. The irony is that those who are opp

Okay, I dug up a School for the Work report by someone very much enamored of Byron Katie. Interesting to look at and see how some not necessarily loving characteristics of BK are rationalized away. It's a recent report, dated October 12, 2008, but the School appears to have taken place in the spring of 2007, since the author mentions that news of the Virginia Tech massacre was arising in
