I knew a married couple who were very active in this cult. Their son was a friend of mine and was always rolling his eyes and leaving the room anytime his father and mother tried to "tag-team" me into reading their ridiculous "Bible". I actually sought out skeptical literature about their belief systems and thus had an iron-clad defense from their silly, illogical cult. (T

Here is the full article in the New Haven Register that documents to dramatic case in a pyramid scheme trial. This will have ramifications nation-wide and hopefully internationally as well as these sick money-stealing schemes spread. Called Gifting Tables in this case, they are referred to by other names as well such as Gifting Circles, etc. They seem to target women. Unlike such things

Norm Pattis, the lead attorney in the defense of the gifting tables schemes lashes out in an editorial at the New Haven Register that the sentencing of his clients is a "mockery of justice". Attorney Pattis has a checkered success rate of getting his clients off in the New Haven (Connecticut, USA) area. The ringleader was just sentenced to 6 years in a federal prison.

The trial goes on and the charges keep piling up. Now it is testified that the leaders basically defrauded their fellow members (actually...don't all pyramid schemes defraud their members?) by changing the rules to suit them and move friends and cronies up the ladder faster at the expense of the weaker members. I have been closely following this trial and I am stunned by the amount o

The trial is getting interesting. A local Town Clerk took part in the Gifting Tables. An attorney who is up for a state judgeship took part, an attorney and father of the woman up for the judgeship and who is the ex-head of the State democrat party took part and said the Gifting Tables were legal. Email trails to all these people talking about the pyramid scheme are being denied by these peo

The accused ring-leader of the Gifting Table pyramid scheme used her husband, a shady business man, to help promote and sell the Gifting Table idea to skeptical husbands and women who were concerned that the Gifting Tables were illegal or a pyramid scheme. News from the Federal trial:

I think the attorney on this case is whistling past a graveyard. To contest the term "PYRAMID SCHEME" in a federal trial about...well,...PYRAMID SCHEMES is like saying in a snake bite trial; "Well, you can't use the term "Snake", "Reptile", "Belly Crawler". Instead you must use the term "the poor, legless and thus physically deprived

Just a side note. This apparent IWWB philosophy is the reason Calvinism lost it's power over the protestant church over the years... belief that God sets on us on paths that are not even redemable even with the full power of God. God says this baby will be a follower and this baby will be lost? You can see then how fruitless the philospohy of such a diety is: if there is no hope...wh

New reports claim that Westboro Baptist is planning on picketing at the funerals of the little children slain in school by the mad gunman in Connecticut. What will these fanatics chant? "Thank God for dead children"? Connecticut is a legal-carry state. Emotions are running high there. I would not want to be a picketer from this Baptist cult. They could meet God face-to-face a

Five (5) other women involved in the "Gifting Table" pyramid scheme have paid the State of Connecticut (USA) $202,500 in restitution. The money is going to the State's general funds and no talk at this time regarding restitution of monies to the victims of the fraud. Notice that the three ringleaders of this scam are awaiting Federal trials which will probably send them to

One of the three arrested con-artists just changed her plea from "Not Guilty": She and her co-conspirators should be spending some time cooling their heels in a federal pen (probably Danbury Connecticut). Unbelievable that these scoundrels and their fellow un-named junior conartists raked in over a Million Bucks. It looks like the un-named people have remained out of troubl

As this occurs between now and 250 years from now, the re-awakening of the Divine Hermaphrodite will slowly re-appear. They will not be freaks as man will be intellectually more advanced and well forewarned of this appearance" Once again, according to Ser

Sorry, corboy, I should have been less "crass-sounding". I have been intrigued by "Love Bombing" since the early days of The Unification Church (to which I lost a friend). You are right, "Love Bombing" is a trickle of support and brotherly love that the initiate finds hard to leave. The Canadian film "Ticket to Heaven" is an excellent example o
