Down to the wire now, folks. The "Gifting Tables" case heads to the jury. Let us hope this begins the end of this and other pyramid schemes across the country.

The two ringleaders were found GUILTY on all counts. Sentencing will be sometime in May 2013.

Norm Pattis, the lead attorney in the defense of the gifting tables schemes lashes out in an editorial at the New Haven Register that the sentencing of his clients is a "mockery of justice".

Attorney Pattis has a checkered success rate of getting his clients off in the New Haven (Connecticut, USA) area.

This will have ramifications nation-wide and hopefully internationally as well as these sick money-stealing schemes spread.

Called Gifting Tables in this case, they are referred to by other names as well such as Gifting Circles, etc.

They seem to target women. Unlike such things as Amway, etc., there is no "product" exchanging hands...no soap product or the like...only money.

I would ask the Moderators to considering adding this to Cult Education's permanent cache of articles for future reference since this marks a first in the successful federal prosecution
of a pyramid scheme. This is a landmark case and sure to aid prosecutors around the country and the world in shutting these things down.
