Yeah, Gary, I seek understanding and clarity as well. Like what in the f@#k was I thinking, getting sucked into a destructive cult like the Walk.

It's been so long since I attended a TLWF/Walk service that I've forgotten what the two realms refer to. The material and the spiritual? The earthly and the heavenly? The delusional and the more delusional?
Maybe it is a good thing I've forgotten some of these teachings.

p.s. With the one year anniversary of Marilyn's passing, it's now obvious that Gary is constructing a myth about the supposed importance of her ministry. I hope no new people get sucked into this nonsense.

p.p.s. Happy Halloween!

Cheers--and she got away with it---it being much more sordid than most could imagine. Thanks 2016

It will be interesting to see how the story develops. I suspect Gary will not be satisfied until people regard her as being on par with Mary, mother of Jesus.

Interesting. "Mariolatry" is a Protestant pejorative for perceived excessive Catholic devotion to Mary. (Wikipedia)

As I recall, John frowned on the worship of Mary citing countries like Mexico, that really get into Mariolatry, were doomed. I wonder, would John frown on Gary's push for "Marilynolatry?"

Cloudwatcher: I think kBoy's research on Don (where are they now?) is accurate. I goggled info on when and where he got his law degree and it matched what I remember.

puddington: I just might quote you,"What the funk was I thinking when I got sucked into a destructive cult called the Walk?" as the title for my forthcoming book. Stay tuned.....

HEADBANGER NEWS: The End of End-All, Be-All

"Connecting with Pastor Omar Pinto and Iglesia de Dios"

November 2, 2016

"As our congregations come together, God is imparting spiritual gifts between us that are bringing cross-pollination and a fruitfulness that neither congregation could experience without the other."

Finally an open admission that TLW is no longer solely spearheading the coming of the Kingdom.

Did you catch that? TLWF has failed to really be the remnant to establish a man-made Kingdom all in the name of God. This truth has been a long time coming but didn't John once say if I'm carried out on a stretcher, this thing is false? My only question, if Pastor Pinto and Gary have formed a unity in apostasy, then who's in charge?

This development is quite interesting. Gary may have to take a secondary role in order to get this unity thing happening.
Pastor Omar Pinto and Assistant Pastor Gary Hargrave?

I was listening to Adele and thought how her songs seem to describe the cult experience. "Rolling in the deep, you had my heart and soul and then you played it." And I remember 2016 once brought up the lyrics from Hello. "Hello from the inside. I'm sorry for breaking your heart. Hello from the outside."

As I look at TLWF from the outside, I wonder aren't the members disenchanted with the inability to deliver on its promises. Aren't they disillusioned with the hypocrisy of the leaders and troubled but unable to discuss doubts and concerns with anyone. But then I realize quite often cult members cannot even identify or understand their feelings having been so controlled and manipulated for so long by dictatorial leaders. Even if you don't believe in hypnosis or mind control, you must be able to see the effect caused by TLWF. There must be something wrong with the way TLWF treats people using coercive persuasion and group control.

While on the inside, I gave some Oscar worthy performances of pretending to be dedicated to John's Living Word prior to exiting. I recall expressing some discontent to an elder and of course his response was the party line, "God placed you here." Like a human being who had lost my autonomy, I automatically accepted what he said as being true. Years later from the outside, I realize that wasn't true. God never placed me in the Walk. I put myself there. God had nothing to do with it.

There is a way out of TLWF and once you are out the experience is like being set free from a prison. You find great pleasure in simple things and being in charge of the daily events of life becomes precious to you.
