The story posted above is very slanted. It sounds like the official Scientology version.

See the following links to get the facts as they were reported by numerous news outlets.

To better understand the church Jason Scott was in and the Christian perspective about that church see the following:

Regarding the abusive leadership of Jason's group read this sermon as delivered by its pastor--

Jason later left the church and reconciled with his family.

See the following news reports:

Jason was never physically hurt and his family was present throughout the intervention. Everything was done with the consent and under the direct supervision of his mother.

There was no discussion whatsoever of "the errors of conservative Protestantism and Christianity."

Involuntary cult intervention is controversial. To better understand this issue see the following:

I accept that it might be slanted but it does seem that deprogramming invloves a level of abuse--maybe not physical--but abuse none the less.

I have handled about 500 interventions in the past twenty years.

No. Deprgramming is not about "abuse."

The purpose of a cult intervention through "deprogramming," is similar to a substance abuse situation and intervention.

A family is simply trying to help someone they love.

The previous links explain this in some depth.

Yes, I did. In terms of relationships I realized that the reason I felt isoliated was because I pushed people away from me. I am actually a bitch--still am--but I also realize the effect that has on other people and clean it up. I am honest with them about why I do what I do....I feel like they could do it better than me, if they really knew they wouldn't like me, they are bugging the crap out of me. It is hard to explain but I have friends with whom I have never shared the Landmark Forum but can pinpoint a time when, though they aren't sure why, I became nicer. Now instead of staying at home wondering why nobody is calling I have a full dance card.

As for work, I figured out what I finally wanted to do with my life. I have seen a 20% increase in my wages.

this is one thing i find fascinating. some people
want their relationships or their jobs to be
better. they usually end up feeling they are.

another thing i find interesting is that some
people write down much bigger wishes.

someone might want to become the chairman
of the board, while another just wants to
be happier in a lesser job.

i dont believe its possible but u might ask
some landmark people in the future that
being u only asked for two wishes that
u would be granted a third.

if they do this and im sure that they do,
then ask for something really big and
see what happens.

i am very curious as to bill gates involvement
in landmark. i think it would be very
interesting to know when he did his forum.
and what he asked for

u never know, maybe he asked to be the
richest man in the world. wouldnt that
be interesting.

I was sort of cynical when I went to the Landmark Forum, and my life was pretty much working so I didn't really put much at stake.

I never even that Bill Gates had done the forum so I cannot help you.

landmarks awareness trainings are
required in parts of california in order
for some people to get a job.

from the people i have spoken to they
dont actually tell u u have to take
a course to get hired but they state
that if u take a course there is a good
chance u can get a job.

this is in the high tech area. i find
it very interesting.

i find it amazing that companies in
high tech areas in california and
probably in other areas around the
country are practically insisting that
future employees take courses where
they are empowered in terror.

u would think that with all the terror
attacks around the world that they
would be more careful.

this is something i got for my fiction
writing.

imagine in the future, when the time
is right, millions of americans that
have been empowered in terror have
their mind switches turn on and they
become like animals, killing and maiming
and and all the while chanting that
life has no meaning. imagine in their
lives they had no idea of what they
would do. but at the moment they became
the terrorists that the americans forget
to fight.

as u can see i get a lot out of life. even
little books of horror just by studying
the cults.
