Just found this:

James Arthur Ray Emails Guy He Killed
[powip.com]

Most likely JRI simply didn't take James Shore off their email list after his death at the death lodge, but it sure doesn't do well for their PR.

You would have to wish that people would be about a million times more careful around these types of guys, and those like them. You can't go into a seminar room or wilderness reatreat with these advanced hypnotic persuaders, its too dangerous, they are too skilled.

For example, Stever Robbins knows all of them same techniques, as well as many other people. Notice all those guys have been quieter than a church mouse since all of this happened. They don't want to harm their own businesses.
They will deny, they will lie.
They will twist words.

But they don't want people to see what they are really doing to people, as that cuts into their sales.

And Oprah really is the worst of any of them. Oprah had James Ray on her show several times, and promoted him, and made him a star. Then not one word about him.
She'll probably wait until after all the cases and charges, then make some bland statement.
How can Oprah let such obvious crooks onto her show? She must know those guys are as crooked as a 3 dollar bill, she's not a sucker, she didn't buy their stuff.

If Oprah cared, she'd do a show about Colleen Conaway, and those like her who are the collateral damage and get caught in the cross-fire. They get flipped into deep trance states, and don't know what is happening to them.
Even just being awake for a few days straight, like these LGAT do, can trigger psychosis in some people.

One has to be hyper-aware of the techniques being used by these expert group persuaders and professional manipulators.
And again, Byron Katie and Stever Robbins use the precise same methods as James Ray, just in their own manner.

James Ray also charges people who died at a previous seminar, for the next seminar they can't attend as they are deceased.
The highway robbery of everyday folks committed by these guys are beyond sickening.

Analyze the text of the email below, and see how it compares with the deep trance inductions described above, as well as the unconscious.
The text needs to be analyzed on several levels, not just the most basic level. Notice how they plant the seeds in people's mind right from the start.

Living Your New Mindset

Dear James,

James Arthur Ray We know that the unconscious mind cannot distinguish between something that is “real” in material form and something that is vividly imagined. Because your mind thinks in pictures, you must create a mental picture of yourself living your new life mindset.

Lots of success programs tell you what to do, but only the Harmonic Wealth Weekend shows you how to think and create the life you really want…

Remember, thoughts are powerful and the unconscious mind is their obedient servant. Like the Genie in Aladdin’s lamp, the unconscious mind says, “Your wish is my command.” It begins to create whatever you think about… or worry about.

Don’t confuse it by staying on track one day and lapsing into doubt or negativity the next. Give the Genie clear instructions, and you will soon be living your new mindset. To shape your future, you have to be ready and able to shape your mindset.

To your continued wealth and happiness,

Light speed.

Looks like James "Death" Ray is trying to liquidate his Beverly Hills house for almost a 40% rip-off price increase after owning it for only 9 months.

I agree. The best way to avoid being manipulated by an abusive communicator is to leave the situation.

And unfortunately I know all too well that being awake for a few days straight can trigger psychosis, as that's exactly what happened to someone close to me. She ended up spending several days in the ER after a PSI Seminars weekend, having gotten no sleep for 5 days, and little food and water. I spent the next month watching over her 24 hours a day.

As a small aside, staying awake for more than a day or two can also trigger a manic episode in in people who are bipolar.

Actually, that is not a small aside, but an important point!
Every LGAT Guru, like James Ray, and all the way back to Werner Erhard...they know all about how to induce manic episodes in people. They do that 100% on purpose. That is a fact.
And you don't have to be bipolar, or have any history.

Why do the LGAT Guru's do this?
Because what is a manic episode? There are many kinds, and some are less severe than others.
But the LGAT Guru's push people into the manic area, as that is when they lose their judgement, and do crazy things, like put tens of thousands on theirt credit cards for more seminars, and buy EVERYTHING pitched at them, and sign contracts for more seminars.
Its like a gambling addict in Vegas betting the farm. They lose it. (Vegas know this too, as that is why its 24/7, they all know it).

James Ray deliberately tries to induce manic symptoms, or mania in people. Just look at those manic photos in this thread.

bizarre photo of James Ray with his mouth/eyes wide open in a manic pose, Megan Fredrickson manic pose, Michelle Goulet manic pose [forum.culteducation.com]

Its 100% intentional. James Ray learned that from Tony Robbins 'Peak State' and many others.
They want to induce the "unrestrained buying sprees" aspect.

That is a fact. That is not speculation. Its very carefully planned out, and has been done for decades.
You don't need any history of bipolar or any mental illness, to get flipped into this manic or hypomanic mental state.

Manic Episode

Three or more of the following symptoms must be present:

- Excessive involvement in pleasurable activities that have a high potential for painful consequences (e.g., engaging in unrestrained buying sprees, sexual indiscretions, or foolish business investments)

- Decreased need for sleep (e.g., one feels rested after only 3 hours of sleep)
- Inflated self-esteem or grandiosity
- Increase in goal-directed activity (either socially, at work or school, or sexually) or psychomotor agitation
- More talkative than usual or pressure to keep talking
- Flight of ideas or subjective experience that thoughts are racing
- Attention is easily drawn to unimportant or irrelevant items

I had a manic or hypomanic episode at Tony Robbins Unleash the Power Within. Robbins' "peak state" is mania, plain and simple. And he gets the 2000+ partipants to practice mania again and again and again, thousands of times over the course of 4 days. On day one, he encourages everyone to jump up and down and scream at "a level 10" out of ten. In true manic fashion, by day 4, it's go to "a level 10,000" out of 10, having now lost touch with reality entirely! :)

From what I've seen of these guys, I suspect they have actually adapted to living in a manic state. Mania is a powerful tool for persuasion too--you can't be around someone having a manic episode without either getting swept up in it or getting totally disgusted and annoyed. Critical thinking is almost impossible when someone barrels down on you with their hyped-up emotions.

The descriptions of the way people were forcing themselves to return to the sweat lodge, despite having severe burns, for example, suggests they were indeed in an advanced manic state.

buffman's comment above:
"From what I've seen of these guys, I suspect they have actually adapted to living in a manic state."

-- Sums up the behaviour of Ray and his "dream team" during, immediately after and in the longer aftermath of this episode too. Ray emerging from the sweat lodge triumphantly, not comprehending the situation; the later conference call about how his victims enjoyed being out of their bodies and chose to die....And those appalling photos of those manic women at the party after they had just called Colleen Conanaway's cell phone to cover up her death....Those people are really quite mad. I wonder if they're contemplating an insanity plea.

Incidentally, many thanks to the commenters here - I've followed this story quite closely, and this thread has exposed a level of manipulation by Ray et al that I wouldn't've guessed. I always thought these guys were flaky lightweights.

Those guys try to sell the illusion they live in a manic state.
They know its impossible, and so they know people will go manic and then crash.

Some of these guys are manic-depressives, even by their own admissions in their ficitionalized stories of themselves. Massive weight-gain and loss, businesses up and down, secret boozing, pills, womanizing, cheating on their wives, and whatever else.

So they do not live in a manic state, its an act, a performance, they carry for a weekend or weeklong seminar.

Those who follow them believe the marketing, that they can live in a peak state, and later find its impossible, and blame themselves, then sign up for more seminars.
Impossible goals, are a key part of all LGAT seminar systems.

These guys don't make millions by being stupid, they know exactly what is going down.
Push people in mania, then they will spend all the money they don't have, AND associate pleasure to the guru, as its also conditioning.

James Ray copied most of Tony Robbins stuff, and of course does not mention Robbins in his books, for obvious reasons.
