Subject: A Message From Pastor G.
Dear Friends,
As you probably know, God is growing and spiritually strengthening our church like never before. However, with any move of God, Satan is out to distract us from and discredit all of the great things that God is doing.
I'm sure that you have heard various rumors about me, The ROC's other pastors, our staff, and The ROC as a whole over the last few weeks. While the illegal and scandalous allegations are 100% false, there are some accusations that are true. With a ministry as large as ours, and with leaders like The ROC's who try their best but who are far from perfect, it is regretfully inevitable that there are some people who have come through our ministry whom we could have treated better. And there are some personal, though neither criminal nor illegal, choices that I and individuals close to me have made that have reflected poorly on The ROC.
Last Thursday, I met with the majority of The ROC's staff and all of The ROC's deacons. At this meeting, I explained that because our enemies are not other people, but Satan, these attacks are sure to become more and more vicious in the days ahead, as God continues to move in a mighty way at The ROC. We also discussed things that we need to straighten out internally, so as not to give Satan any more of a foothold in our lives and in our ministry. Those in attendance at this meeting agreed to stand by me and our church regardless of the attacks; and we all agreed that Thursday, April 25, would be a "fresh start" for us, in terms of making better decisions that would positively represent both God and The ROC.
Today, a small handful of protesters briefly protested in front of The ROC, accusing me of all sorts of despicable atrocities. I'm sure that it is unsettling to hear these false reports about your church and your pastors, but I wanted you to hear from me that these allegations of scandalous, criminal, and illegal actions are completely untrue, and that The ROC is in a better place than we have ever been in; and we will not let this distract us from our mission of reaching this city for Jesus! Certainly, it doesn't feel good to be in Satan's direct line of fire, but God is using it for our good--He is pruning us and preparing us to do even greater things than we have ever done before! I would encourage you to, "batten down the hatches," so-to-speak, and hold on--God will bring us through this storm while using it to build our character and teaching us to more fully rely on Him!
With that said, if you have any questions about the things that are being said about me, The ROC, or anyone else at The ROC, I would encourage you neither to speculate nor to ask someone else who will speculate in their answer. Please bring your questions to my assistant, Crystal Puryear, and she will gladly answer your questions or find out the answer, if she doesn't know.
Jesus loves you!
Pastor G.
