No, but I still think of it as a possibility. I have lots of crazy things that I think are possibilities that have nothing to with UM as well.

It doesn't matter exactly what I believe or anybody's personal beliefs are does it?

I have come to say there can be life after UM. You can get through this intact and with your partner, family, friends and finance.

I don't mind telling what I have experienced and the knowledge of UM as a way of helping people here gain understanding of why and how a person can go off and never return. But it obviously arouses suspicion to my true intention and gives me the feeling I am being probed not for what I can do to help, but what my intentions are, who I am, and what my beliefs are.

If anybody wants to know more about specific topics of UM I am glad to share what I know. I am also glad to share what my opinion, for whatever it's worth, on how to deal with a friend or loved one that you would like to see have a more balanced lifestyle.

Thats it.

I for one, thank you for your posts. As rrmoderator said, there are trolls who come around here, so there is a level of suspicion that would perhaps not occur in the 'face to face' world where it's easier to read people and their body language/actions.

I hope you keep posting.

(reason for edit: I wrote about the quote, so amended to try to keep it consistent as per KIK's request!)

Respect to you Herb

• It is for this reason that Serge has taught – ‘comparison is a destroyer of what is already amazing and perfect for you in your life’ – SB. In comparison we want/need what another has we think is better or what would be best for us if we had it. In this, we further bury our own beauty and our own Heaven-ness in favour of what we think we need as opposed to what we already are. The more we want/desire what another has, the further we bury the Glory we are from.

We compare all the time.

Selecting some items for a diet while omitting other items requires a comparison process.

I have never seen this before Corboy. Thanks for sharing. Very Interesting study.

Corboy,
It was the experiment by Ancel Keyes during world war two that I was referring to or meant to quote. Don't know how I ended up with the above quote on comparison.

Also interesting but not what I was talking about.

Just so we are on the same page.

So the entities don't control people but essentially they control (!) or influence people as a result of bad choices.

Logic would suggest that any bad choices an individual makes are the result of a thought process, otherwise they wouldn't be choices. Serge also teaches that we are incapable of individual thought, that all thoughts and ideas are impulsed to us either from 'fiery' (Sanat Kumara?) or pranic (Lords of Form) sources. If the individual's very thoughts were not made freely and were impulsed by the Lords of Form, and those thoughts led to the bad choices that then led to the entities entering and possessing the individual, ultimately influencing them to commit a violent act, in theory it sounds like Serge is actually saying the astral entities/LoF DO very much control people.

It's confusing, that's why his students keep going back to make sense of it all.

Give them the problem and be the only source that has the solution.

Nothing new.

While we're on the subject of entities or what some would call demons I'd like to share a quote from Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac, anyone who knows about the band's history and biography would know that they too have always been interested in the spiritual side of things and have members like Stevie Nicks who practises witchcraft. The quote comes as the intro to the song 'My Little Demon' and some interpretations have it that this song was Buckingham's own attempt to deal with his past drug use or with his girlfriend at the time and bandmember Stevie Nick's obsession with the cult of Witchcraft. So while we are on the subject here's what he said:

"We all have our own inner demons, it's oftentimes that we let them get the best of us, I think it's just important to remember that no one falls into a simple set of labels, its even more important I think to learn from your mistakes and to fight for the positive choice."

For anyone who's interested you can read commentary on the song here:

But I just thought I'd share it as it is a positive message, and I agree that it is important for people to remember that we are all individuals that we don't have to be the subjects or the victims of the labels that Serge and Universal Medicine tries to put on us, we all have our weaknesses, and rather than dwell on them, be exploited by them, or manipulate others through them, it is up to us as individuals to fight or come to terms with these demons in our own way, and to help, not hurt, burden, and confuse others as they fight for their own positive choice.

Here is another list of symptoms and concerns relating to anorexia nervosa. Read this and see, based on your own observatoin of UM dieters, if any of this matches up.

Anorexia Symptoms and Effects
What are the Signs and Symptoms of Anorexia?
The earliest warning signs of anorexia (anorexia nervosa) can be very difficult to distinguish from normal eating or dieting behavior. Anorexia symptoms may also be concealed, attributed to other health conditions or dismissed as side effects of prescription drugs.

However, eating disorder treatment professionals can distinguish symptoms of anorexia from other medical conditions by identifying physical signs such as:

extreme weight loss
thin appearance
abnormal blood counts
elevated liver enzymes
fatigue
dizziness or fainting
seizure
brittle nails
hair that thins, breaks or falls out
absence of menstruation (amenorrhea)
development of fine hair on the extremities (lanugo)
constipation
dry skin
intolerance of cold
irregular heart rhythms
low blood pressure
dehydration
osteoporosis, the loss of bone calcium, which may result in broken bones
What Are the Warning Signs of Anorexia Nervosa?

Most early signs of anorexia center on preoccupation with food or dieting. Behavior may appear obsessive or compulsive, and begin to consume more time. Eventually, disordered eating patterns will become more noticeable to others and potentially disrupt schooling, career, and relationships with family and friends.

If you're concerned that you or someone you love may have an eating disorder, watch for these early warning signs of anorexia:

refusal to eat
denial of hunger, even when starving
difficulty concentrating
obsession with body size and shape
skipping meals
making excuses for not eating
eating only a few certain foods considered safe, usually those low in fat and calories
adopting meal or eating rituals, such as cutting food into tiny pieces or spitting food out after chewing
weighing food
cooking elaborate meals for others but refusing to

Quote

In men or women with an abnormal preoccupation with food, several other behaviors should also be recognized as clear warning signs of anorexia nervosa, or possibly other eating or body image disorders:

excessive exercise
flat mood, or lack of emotion
repeated weighing of themselves
frequent checking in the mirror for perceived flaws
wearing baggy or layered clothing
complaining about being fat

Quote

What are the Effects of Anorexia Nervosa?
learn more

Anorexia’s effects vary depending on the severity of the disease. They tend to worsen as thoughts about food crowd out more and more of an anorexic’s thoughts.

Forced withdrawal from school or college
Loss of connection to faith or religion
Career disruption
Isolation from friends and family
Suicide
The physical effects of starvation are often irreversible, and reflect the extremely high rate of deaths associated with anorexia nervosa:

Infertility
Shutdown of major body systems
Brain damage
Heart attacks
Death

--------------------

Based on treefern's description on this thread, I decided to look at some information about a condition called Anorexia Nervosa.

Am going to post some information.

Anyone who has loved ones adhering rigorously to the UM diet can read this and decide for themselves if the info about Anorexia nervosa matches up well with what they see with their loved one and with other UM devotees who do take the diet seriously.

What is of great concern is that specialists experienced with treating anorexia note that undereating by itself produces real and enduring changes in the persons mind and emotions and these effects can linger for a considerable time after the person resumes eating a nutritionally suffient diet.

Fasting is different from undereating/starvation, btw.

From the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine website

Nothing is said here about the role of following directives from a diet advisor where the diet is linked to a cosmology and soteriology (plan of salvation -- if only from the rat race of endless reincarnations)

Food and weight become obsessions. Compulsiveness may cause strange eating rituals or the refusal to eat in front of others.

It is not uncommon for people with anorexia to collect recipes and prepare gourmet feasts for family and friends, but not partake in the meals themselves. They may also adhere to strict exercise routines to keep off weight.

What are some common characteristics of people with anorexia nervosa?
Most people with eating disorders share certain personality traits and use abnormal eating rituals as a means of handling stress and anxiety. These personality traits often include, but are not limited to, the following:

*low self-esteem

*feelings of helplessness

*fear of becoming fat

People with anorexia nervosa:

*rarely break rules or disobey.

*often keep their feelings to themselves.

*tend to be perfectionists, good students, and excellent athletes.

It is believed that they restrict food - particularly carbohydrates - to gain a sense of control in some/one area of their lives. Controlling their weight appears to offer two advantages:

*taking control of their bodies

*gaining approval from others

What are the different types of anorexia?

There are two subgroups of anorexic behavior aimed at reducing caloric intake, including the following:

restrictor type - severely limits the intake of food, especially carbohydrates and fat containing foods.

bulimia (also called binge-eating/purging type) - eats in binges and then induces vomiting and/or takes large amounts of laxatives or other cathartics (medications, through their chemical effects, that serve to increase the clearing of intestinal contents).

What are the symptoms of anorexia nervosa?
The following are the most common symptoms of anorexia. However, each individual may experience symptoms differently. Symptoms may include:

low body weight (less than 85 percent of normal weight for height and age)

intense fear of becoming obese , even as individual is losing weight

distorted view of one's body weight, size, or shape; sees self as too fat, even when very underweight; expresses feeling fat, even when very thin

refuses to maintain minimum normal body weight

in females, absence of three menstrual cycles without another cause

excessive physical activity

denies feelings of hunger

preoccupation with food preparation

bizarre eating behaviors

The following are the most common physical symptoms associated with anorexia - often that result from starvation and malnourishment. However, each individual may experience symptoms differently. Symptoms may include:

dry skin that when pinched and released, stays pinched

dehydration

abdominal pain

constipation

lethargy

fatigue

intolerance to cold temperatures

emaciation

development of lanugo (fine, downy body hair)

yellowing of the skin

Persons with anorexia may also be socially withdrawn, irritable, moody, and/or depressed. The symptoms of anorexia nervosa may resemble other medical problems or psychiatric conditions. Always consult your physician for a diagnosis.

Possible complications of anorexia nervosa
Medical complications that may result from anorexia include, but are not limited to, the following:

cardiovascular (heart)
While it is difficult to predict which anorexic patients might have life-threatening cardiac consequences that result from their illness, up to 95 percent of hospitalized anorexic patients have been found to have low heart rates. Myocardial (heart muscle) damage that can occur as a result of changes in the heartbeat, or repeated vomiting, may be life threatening. Common cardiac complications that may occur include the following:

arrhythmias (a fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat)

bradycardia (slow heartbeat)

hypotension (low blood pressure)

hematological (blood)
Mild anemia (low red blood cell count) and leukopenia (low white blood cell count) are frequently found.

gastrointestinal (stomach and intestines)
Normal movement in intestinal tract often slows down with very restricted eating and severe weight loss. Gaining weight and some medications help to restore normal intestinal motility.

renal (kidney)
Dehydration often associated with anorexia results in highly concentrated urine. Polyuria (increased production of urine) may also develop in anorexic patients when the kidneys ability to concentrate urine decreases. Renal changes usually return to normal with the restoration of normal weight.

endocrine (hormones)
Amenorrhea (cessation of the menstrual cycle) is one of the hallmark symptoms of anorexia, when a menstrual period is missed for three or more months without any other underlying cause. Amenorrhea often precedes severe weight loss and continues after normal weight is restored. Reduced levels of growth hormones are sometimes found on anorexic patients and may explain growth retardation sometimes seen in anorexic patients. Normal nutrition usually restores normal growth.

skeletal (bones)
Persons with anorexia are at an increased risk for skeletal fractures (broken bones). When the onset of anorexic symptoms occurs before peak bone formation has been attained (usually mid to late teens), a greater risk of osteopenia (decreased bone tissue) or osteoporosis (bone loss) exists. Bone density is often found to be low in females with anorexia, and low calcium intake and absorption is common.

Biochemistry and eating disorders
To understand eating disorders, researchers have studied the neuroendocrine system, which is made up of a combination of the central nervous and hormonal systems.

The neuroendocrine system regulates multiple functions of the mind and body. It has been found that many of the following regulatory mechanisms may be, to some degree, disturbed in persons with eating disorders:

*sexual function

*physical growth and development

*appetite and digestion

*sleep

*heart function

*kidney function

*emotions

*thinking

memory

Eating disorders and depression
Many people with eating disorders also appear to suffer from depression, and is believed that there may be a link between these two disorders. For example:

In the central nervous system, chemical messengers known as neurotransmitters control hormone production. The neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine, which function abnormally in people who have depression, have been discovered to also have decreased levels in both acutely-ill anorexia and bulimia patients, and long-term recovered anorexia patients.

Research has shown that some patients with anorexia may respond well to antidepressant medication that affects serotonin function in the body.

People with anorexia, or certain forms of depression, seem to have higher than normal levels of cortisol, a brain hormone released in response to stress. It has been shown that the excess levels of cortisol in both persons with anorexia and in persons with depression are caused by a problem that occurs in, or near, the hypothalamus of the brain.

Wow, thank you Corboy for the diet info, I'm afraid my husband ticked quite a lot of the boxes on your list. The information has been very helpful to me. He is introducing some of the healthy foods little by little back into his diet, he looks, acts and is beginning to sound his old self.
I am feeling like I can start breathing myself again and find we are even laughing together, being spontanious and having a good roll in the hay..something that hasn't happened for quite some time.
You asked about wearing more clothes, I can't really answer that one about him, he has always had trouble with the cold but has added another layer to his many.
What I have noticed however is that the UMers are getting upset about how many people are commenting on their massive weight losses and how they are looking grey, gaunt and haggard. They are meant to walk gently, I think they walk very, very slowly more than gently, because of the obvious lack of any energy.
I play 'spot the UM devotees', they stick out a mile from the rest of the population, sadly they think they are the healthy ones and I have even had them move away from me and I guess my healthier/larger energy.
I also notice the lack of colourful clothing that is starting to creep in.
I would like to raise one troubling issue that someone might be able to help me with. As many people have pointed out through not only the posts but also in conversations. Serge and UM seems to give a lot of time and attention to women and womens issues as in EBM (ugh! designed to frighten the life out of women make them really really scared and make huge amounts of money for Serge)
Why is it then that the 2 girls who work as receptionists/office staff are locked away in the broomcupboard sized office space?
The airless, cramped little box that they work in all day is disgusting. As there are no open windows/doors or air conditioning in the building, the stale lifeless air is infused with the constant burning of inscense which must fill the office/cupboard space constantly.
If and here I add heaven forbid one of these girls ever develops a serious lung problem it won't be because of Karma, being possessed, eating pranic foods or past lives, it will be because of the horrible working conditions and they should know that they will be able to sue Serge and UM. lots of witnesses!!!!
Serge if you think so highly of women, to the point that you tell/suggest to men that they ask permission to even touch their wives, so stupid, why treat these girls so badly?

Hi everyone, has anyone noticed that ESOTERIC BREAST MASSAGE has been removed from the benhayon sites.I get the distinct feeling that these loons are feeling some heat and it's not from their "fiery sutras" either. Is it still possible to purchase a jar of serge's fine ointment guaranteed to restore those breasts to their former glory I ask. ? Come on serge how about something for the men- you know what I mean or will the breast tincture do the job. I await your wisdom-ness ,Eric Dobbs
