Interesting about the affairs and abuse. I was in the San Diego group at the time that JRS “excommunicated” Mel Bailey because he got caught in an affair of some sort. I am wondering if RD Cronquist was involved in any of that sort of thing. He had abusive tendencies in other ways. Just curious because he played mind games with a Girl I was going with during a relationship counseling session.

People might find the column “Lexington” in the June 15 2019 edition of The Economist” interesting. It has an interesting commentary on the current state of the Southern Baptist Convention (this is how they they refer to their denomination, I believe). Apparently it is rife with sexual scandal, stemming from similar misuse of so-called shepherding principles as being discussed here. Worth a

Someone can add “Black Holes” to the lexicon. I believe this was was a reference to collapsing to nothingness before god or something like that. This was one of many things that I saw JRS pick up from the current news of the time that I realized he really knew nothing whatsoever about. Maybe someone remembers this?

AMOS >> According to Stevens, some of Cronqiist’s counseling was troublesome, with a lot of focus on explicit details about married couples sex lives. This was said from the pulpit. Really wield stuff. << I can attest to this personally. Sometime in 1972, I set up a check-out session with RD with my then girlfriend. He talked to us together and then each of us separately. In my
