I noticed on one of the Living Word websites the names of people that had just graduated from Shiloh university, the name of someone that I knew back in the days that I went to Knoxville church for regionals. I don't know if that was this dude I knew or maybe it was his son, or maybe even a grand son by now I guess, with the same name, but anyway, I won't give the name, but he just got

Posted by: kBOY () Date: December 05, 2015 10:21PM PALEFACE: According to Woodrow Nichols’ account (JRS and The Walk), JRS had a vision in Yucaipa in Sept 1962 of Martha in a coffin, and two years later, active intercession was being directed towards her death (pgs 78-79). You know, just going by the teaching of the one that JRS professed to be the true head of the Walk, Jesus Christ, w

While we are discussing the interest of the Walk's leadership with being open to other ministries, what was the deal where they were interested in the ministry of Todd Bentley? It seems to me that when Living Word wants to get involved with somebody they seem to gravitate to the craziest of all. The thing about the Catholic church, I just figured that had something to do with having the chu

Yea KBOY, that is one thing I think JRS would turn over in his grave over, the hooking up with the Vatican and john's boy Gary giving his "how to we pray for Father Fransisco, speach.."(*or whatever his name is)... I think if JRS did come back to life, (sic!!) he might be able to snap out of his whisky soaked, dillusions of grandeur, long enough to slap Marilyn's face.

kBOY: "Now you are beginning to see all that you have missed . . ." I didn't miss any of that, because all of the charismaniacs did eid every bit of that BEFORE Living Word got into those things. it seems to be a pattern with them, even as far back as JRS plagerizing Latter Rain, everything the Living Word Fellowship does, somebody beat them to it. Gary and Marily must have b

I turned to that website kBoy, and that is the guy I thought looked familiar, and it's the guy I figured would be Bob Raba,of course he has changed a lot, not nearly as much as I have. When you said he was still in the Walk, I have mixed emotions about that, when I hear about somebody real still in there, i think, Dam, why??? But at the same time, it is good to hear, and that means the Wa

kBOY: Bob Raba was from the D.C. church, played football for various NFL teams, and ended up marrying one of Dan Statton’s daughters. He rose to such prominence in the late 80’s/early 90’s that he was actually the head over Shiloh for a period of time. He was and is such a sweet guy that they probably felt he took whatever ‘edge’ Shiloh had left, and had transformed it into a more LOVING environ

kBOY: This went on far into the summer until word of it reached JRS, who had been absent much of the time because his divorce proceedings from Martha had forced him to steer clear of Iowa. When he eventually returned, there was a general ‘call to arms’ meeting where he railed against all the backsliding (having fun) and questioned everyone’s commitment to the cause. The ‘fun’ was basically squ

Typo, sorry, the above post I said: "I never liked it when anybody is paid fairly for a day's work." That of course was meant to be "I never like it when anybody is NOT paid fairly.." But then, being a union man all those years that might be a Faudian slip, because I dam sure was always paid two times fairly to do a half-@$$ed day's work.

I wasn't going to post for a while, as it seems like new people show up when i don't hog the forum so much, but I am fascinated in this hell hole slave operated sawmill. By the way, KBoy, when you took your shirt off and faced your natural aversion to blood and did what you did for your friend, bound his wounds, you showed your friend more love than a year's worth of apostolic impa

I didn't ever know Glen Oswalt, but I did meet Bill Maybe and talked with him a few times. I really liked him. Once he and were standing at the front door of Shiloh, and a pig (*the four legged variety) walked right up and looked at us and wondered off. We had a few off-colored remarks about ,,,well, i won't get into that, and some laughs over it. I figure Bill Maybe was being put in hi

Changedagain, my wife was in a church before I met here where the pastor didn't believe in doctors at all. We went to a funeral of one of the people she knew when she was in that church, and I mentioned to her that I noticed that lots of the congregation had missing teeth. She told me that when they finally had to have teeth pulled because they could not stand the agony of absessed teeth et

JUPITER SAID: I find long-term recovery to be hard. I am emotionally stable, I am strong and self-aware, but growing up in a cult reveals the worst aspects of humanity which cannot simply be unseen. I find that I notice destructive group patterns everywhere, and I stay away from any group or organisation which seems remotely wounded or destructive in any way. Actually, this doesn't make it

Actually I wrote another post but I think it got lost, so if it comes up I am sorry to duplicate it. But I was telling about a kingdom business that I actually worked in for a week. I was supposed to work there two weeks but I got mad and confronted the pastor in the middle of a service and left. But anyway, in that kingdom business there was only three or four people, all women that worked at

In the one kingdom business I had first hand dealings with I helped the pastor of one of the churches in the south work in his print shop, and the workers there didn't get paid anything other than room and board. It was really amazing how one lady was reduced to tears one day because the pastor there thought that she was the cause of his writer's block and said that he perceived that it

Now I am sure that none of the money made in that dilapidated saw mill was used for the financial gain of any of the ministries. And speaking of the ministries, knowing the Living Word fellowship like I know it, since there were no positions and all, everybody being the same, total equality, I assume you are going to get to the part about seeing the APCO boys and even John himself, along with Ga

I don't know why, but I just have a feeling that Gary Hargrave is not going to stay in charge for very long. He is just too boring. I don't think he would be booted out with nothing like John Miller, Bill Maybe, and a host of others, I think he has been smart enough to cover his ass-ets better, knowing church policy up till now, and being the one that did the booting out, but I think he

KBOY I was only at Shiloh three times. I never did the sawmill thing, all I ever did work-wise was a little kitchen duty, so I can't say that I am a real veteran of Shiloh, I was never there in the winter either. I bet that killed them to have to pay you guys minimum wage. I hope you tithed the rest of it back into the upward flow.

By the way, have you ever noticed that often when you drive by a county jail, you will notice a sawmill or some such business right beside the jail. I have always wondered if pallet making is a pretty common slave labor enterprise, either using inmates as laborers.

I am amazed at the government letting all these churches run businesses, such as the sawmill at Shiloh and all the rest of the "kingdom" businesses. All that tax exempt of course, and using slave, I mean volunteer labor. That's all over the place. I know of another church, not affiliated with the Walk, where the pastor had two fish restaurants, completely manned by volunteers from

Back in the late 70s I heard that the schedule was pretty much all work or services, I dismissed it as a rumor though, like everything else I heard, it had to be just a rumor started by some malcontent. The thing about that schedule, it might not look all that bad, as there is only about 8 hours of work a day on there, but just consider how, when you follow a schedule like that, even at meal

KBOY that looks like a pretty easy schedule there, what is that, maybe 15 hours a day, 6 days a week and then just 6 hours of services on Sunday, that's not bad. Maybe that is why the prophesies didn't get fulfilled and the apostle didn't break into resurrection life, they were just too easy on you guys. It looks like the shepherds were just too soft hearted.

Lately, and I think partly because of things you pointed out about the LWF, about how the younger people of the Walk look happy in their involvement in the church, I have started to believe that they might just make it as a healthy church after all. It woul

Rhea, what wrote about this lady wanting people to come up and commit to here sounds very much like the woman that took "spiritual oversight" or motherhood of the church I was in many years ago, the Living Word Fellowship. Thankfully, this woman just died and there seems to be some glimmer of hope that this sort of hold might be over for the people still involved in the sect. I am glad
